I'm Tickled Pink!

Hello, hello!

Simple Sunday is on hold once again as I've got some more fun news to share. :)

Recently I was invited by the fabulously talented and legendary waffler, Kellie Winnell, to be a guest designer on her Tickled Pink team for the summer. To say that I was 'tickled pink' would be a total understatement! If you haven't seen her amazingly cute new stamp line, the Li'l Lolitas, then you simply must hop on over to the Tickled Pink store and take a look-see at all five of these little dolls. I fell in love as soon as I saw the sneak peeks a couple weeks back and have had an absolute ball coloring them up ever since they arrived on my doorstep all the way from Australia!

I couldn't wait to join the fun so my first Tickled Pink card is for this week's Girlie Girl challenge and I used sweet Ivy since she just screams froofy, cutsie, girlie to me. I was also channeling my inner Kellie with this one as no one does girlie girl quite like she can. I hope I did her proud. :)

Now to play along in this challenge you do have to use a Li'l Lolita stamp so if you haven't gotten yours yet this is a great incentive... I promise you will be glad you did! And if you head here then you just might win an entire set of Li'l Lolitas... fun, fun, fun!

Okey dokey, don't forget that you still have time to get in on the Sweet November candies through tonight and I will be announcing the lucky winners tomorrow.

TTFN!

Summer sprites candy time

Happy Saturday!

Today is the last day of Sweet November sneak peek candies and we've saved some familiar faces to end all the fun with. :)

First up is every one's favorite sprite, Darby. With the hot days of summer warming up the inhabitants of Sweet November land, Darby has decided that this will be the year she finally learns how to swim. So she has enlisted the help of her friend, Skip, to teach her how to do more than just doggie paddle. They've been practicing in one of the ponds for now but Darby is hoping that soon she will be good enough to head over to the bay and play with the mermaids. :)
Darby's candy kit includes, one Sweet November Darby and Skip rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheets of DCWV Citrus papers, one Hero Arts clear acrylic ticket sentiment stamps, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, ribbons, buttons, four card blanks, four envelopes and my card.

Next up we have Penelope striking out on her own for the first time. And while she thinks the water is fine for dipping her toes in, she's still more about frolicking in the sunshine than diving into the pond. That's just fine with her pal Shelly because by the time she finally makes it to the pond everyone else is already done swimming anyways, LOL!

Penelope's candy kit includes, one Sweet November Penelope and Shelly rubber stamp, eleven 6x6 sheets of Doodle bug paper, one Sakura Stardust glitter pen, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, ribbons, buttons, four card blanks, four envelopes and my card.
Now all you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment on this post. If you link to this candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone... I will ship the candy anywhere in the world! :)
The candies will stay open through this Sunday, June 6th and I will announce the randomly generated winners on Monday, June 7th. Which just so happens to be the official release date for all of this month's new stamps over at ATS!
And after you have left a comment here, be sure to check out all of the AMAZING cards the SNS gals...Traci, Jenn and Elaine have to share today on their own blogs. You will love all of the summertime fun they have these little sprites enjoying! :)
Oh and don't forget that there is still a chance to win Darby and Penelope over at the ATS blog... all you have to do is leave a comment over there too!

Wet and wild candy

Hiya sweeties!
Here we are at day two of the Sweet November sneak peek candies and I've got two more lovely mermaids for you to get to know better. :)
Don't forget that there is still a chance to win all four mermaids over at the ATS blog... all you have to do is leave a comment over there too!

Now, as I mentioned yesterday, these special mermaids travel from far and wide to spend their summers basking off the sunny shores of Sweet November Land making these few months even more magical than usual. Coral Reefweaver has come all the way from her home in the Great Barrier Reef and she has brought her little fishy friend, Moki, with her. Coral spends most of her days sculpting and decorating the ocean floor with amazing works of undersea art. Not only does she create beauty and wonder but she also provides homes for all her little friends needing shelter from the big blue.

Coral's candy kit includes one Sweet November Coral Reefweaver and Moki rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheets of Basic Grey Two Scoops paper, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, a Sakura stardust glitter pen, ribbons, buttons, four card blanks, four envelopes and my card.

And the last of the mermaids (for now... hint...hint) comes to us from the frigid waters of the North Atlantic... please say hello to Treasure Tempestwind and her pal Eddy! When Treasure and Eddy aren't playing tag amongst the ice burgs she likes to search for shiny baubles, gems and coins amongst the wreckage of sunken ships which she then loves to adorn herself with. This girl has some serious bling!

Treasure's candy includes one Sweet November Treasure Tempestwind and Eddy rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheets of Kaiser Craft paper and two 6x6 sheets of Reminisce glitter paper, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, a Sakura Stardust glitter pen, ribbons, buttons, three stick pins, four card bases, four envelopes and my card.
Now all you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment on this post. If you link to this candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone... I will ship the candy anywhere in the world so all you mermaid lovers out there are encouraged to play! :)
The candies will stay open through this Sunday, June 6th and I will announce the randomly generated winners on Monday, June 7th. Which just so happens to be the official release date for all of this month's new stamps over at ATS!

Some salt water candies

Hey, hey, hey!
So are you ready for some Sweet November sneak peeks and candy? I thought you might be. :)
I've got two brand new mermaids to share with you and two chances to win!
Oh and there is still a chance to win all four mermaids over at the ATS blog... all you have to do is leave a comment over there too!

Well what are we waiting for? Let's dive right in, LOL!

So summer is here and that means the Sweet November mermaids are migrating from all the corners of the globe to spend this special time of year on these magical shores.
Our first finned friend to arrive is Pearl Tidepool. Pearl has traveled all the way from the Indian ocean and her little pal, Seamoor decided to tag along. This fun loving pair of friends love to ride the currents and dance through the waves. Pearl is always the life of any undersea party... all the fish love her! It must be the hilarious jokes she always tells... fish just love to laugh, ya know! ;)
So Pearl's candy kit includes one Pearl Tidepool and Seamoor rubber stamp, 10 sheets of Doodlebug papers, one Technique Tuesday clear sentiment stamp set, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, buttons, ribbons, four card blanks, four envelopes and my card.

Now meet Fathom Calmsea and Lio (well... Lios on this card LOL). Fathom spends most of the year in the warm Pacific waters near the Hawaiian islands. She is a bit quiet and as mysterious as the deepest depths of the ocean. Her calm, caring demeanor leads her to watch over the smallest most vulnerable of her fellow sea creatures and they love her for it.

Fathom's candy includes, one Fathom Calmsea and Lio rubber stamp, six sheets of 7 Gypsies paper, one sheet of Paper Patch paper, two sheets of Reminisce glitter paper, one Sakura Stardust glitter pen, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, ribbons, buttons, four card blanks, four envelopes and my card.
Now all you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment on this post. If you link to this candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... Sweet November spotlight on Jenn

Hello again! And welcome back to our second Sweet November Spotlight of the day!

Right now I'd like to take a moment and introduce you to our other fabulous June guest gal, Jenn Royal!
Jenn's beautiful work caught my eye some time ago and though she has only recently jumped into the wonderful world of Copic markers, I have watched her take to them like a fish to water (or better yet, a mermaid to water LOL)! She does a beautiful job at bringing her stamped images to life and I really love the playful personality that comes across in everything she creates. :)

Now it's on to the ever popular Sweet November questionnaire... let's see what Jenn had to say...

1) What color do feel represents your personality and why?
GREEN! Growing up in the great Pacific Northwest, you can never get enough of all the beautiful green vegetation everywhere you look. I guess that's why it reflects into my personality and a lot into my wardrobe too! Lol! Green just makes me really happy and makes me think of prosperity and new beginnings.

2) Is your style of dress/ home decor similar to your style of card making?
I never really thought about it, but yeah. I have a lot of good basics in my wardrobe, but I add some flair with "embellishments" like funky jewelry and shoes. My modern, clean-line decor style shows a little bit in my cards since I like to keep my layouts fairly simple to let the focal image shine.

3) What one thing always puts you in a good mood?
Music. My iPod and I are BFFs! I love to rock out to my favorite music while I craft too, so it's like double-happiness. My music library is pretty eclectic too. A little it of everything, but heavy on the alt-rock. That genre is what I loved in high school....might have to do with the whole Seattle-grunge rock thing. ;)

4) If you could visit any time in history when would it be?
I like to keep it simple yet fun, so I have a tendency to love anything related to the 1920's era. I totally LOVE the fashion from then. Also, things seemed so simplistic and carefree yet very aware of the world at large.

5) If you were a mythical creature ie. fairy, elf, mermaid, troll etc., what kind would you be and why?
I've always been a huge fan of fairies. There's something about the mysticism and magic surrounding all the stories and tales. Plus, they're always cute and loved by everyone!

Bonus question

6) If you are a fellow Gleek, which character from McKinley High do you most identify with?
Oh, you KNOW I'm a Gleek!! I think I most identify with Mr. Shue (so handsome!). He's very caring and encouraging to others, and he has some terrific talent. I like to think that I have some talent too! Lol! Not only in my crafts, but I also played the flute and sax, and I can actually sing and dance fairly well too. With all of my volunteer work and always willing to help family and friends, I hope I'm the caring and well-rounded person my parents raised me to be!

I'm thinking after last night's episode that Jenn and all the other Shue fans will be positively swooning, LOL!
Love your answers Jenn! :)

So of course I just had to make a card inspired by this beauty of Jenn's featuring Chanter Heartsong. The horizontal layout and all of the horizontal lines in that fab BG paper she used against the kraft background really got my wheels turning, as did the look of the image 'popping' out of the white circle. So I grabbed Darby and Chenille and actually cut Darby down a bit so that she could peek through the window I created.
I also used the yellow, blue and orange color scheme that is this week's ATS challenge, so you'll want to check that out and play along for the prize this week too!

Thanks SO much for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow for the start of candies and sneak peeks!
And you won't want to miss the fabulous cards from all the Sweet November gals, Traci, Elaine and Jenn who will be playing along as well! :)

Supply list:

ink- Memento tuxedo black and rich cocoa, Colorbox dark brown chalk ink

Sweet November spotlight on Elaine

Hello my lovelies!

It's that time again... time to start gearing up for another Sweet November Stamps preview week! That also means I've got June's SN guest gals to introduce you to first... yep, I said gals. And we're kicking off summer with a whole school of mermaids and a couple other friends so with that much goodness to share it was all hands on deck, LOL!

And without further ado let me introduce you to Elaine Hughes! Elaine is a brilliant card maker who constantly has me ooohing and ahhhhing over her latest creations and mad skills with Copic markers! She has been a cheerleader for Sweet November since the very beginning and her love of the images shines through on every card she makes with them and that always puts a smile on my face. :)

Now for my favorite part of the spotlight... the crazy, fun SN questionnaire!

1) What color do feel represents your personality and why?
My favourite colours are blue-greens, I find them soothing and inspiring (and I tend to need a lot of soothing!). To a degree they probably represent me as I tend to associate them with creativity.

2) Is your style of dress/ home decor similar to your style of card making?
If my style of card making is considered haphazard, then sure. Hah! Really, I think my card making is way more stylish than my wardrobe or home decor. I'm way more adventurous with colour and patterns in my crafting.

3) What one thing always puts you in a good mood?
A good book. My main passion is reading, and I'm always happiest when I've got my nose buried in an absorbing chunky book!

4) If you could visit any time in history when would it be?
Probably Victorian times, as long as it's just a visit!

5) If you were a mythical creature ie. fairy, elf, mermaid, troll etc., what kind would you be and why?
Tough question! Choices, choices... I'm not sure really. If I were to be a fairy it would have to be the sort that you might find in a Charles de Lint story, a little bit edgy, more urban fantasy than high fantasy.

Bonus question

6) If you are a fellow Gleek, which character from McKinley High do you most identify with?

I love Glee! My favourite character has to be Sue Sylvester. She's a legend! That said, I probably identify most with Tina.

Absolutely fab answers Elaine!

So as always I've made my own card inspired by Elaine's gorgeous Ginger fairy creation and as you can see I played it really close to the original. I loved the idea of creating a background scene for my stamp with some floral paper and then using the strip of ribbon both as a perch for Clover and a tool to direct your eye from the flower embellishment back to her. Overall Elaine's card was such a fun design to lift and I love my resulting card almost as much as I love her original!
Ok, thanks for welcoming Elaine to the land of Sweet November... I'll be back in just a bit with the second spotlight post for the day. :)
Also, if you would like a sneak peek of some of the mermaids (with a chance to win all four) all you have to do is head on over to the ATS blog right now and leave a comment telling us which one is your fave!

My card today uses Rio and as soon as I saw her in her fabulous party dress Lionel Richie started singing, "We're going to party! karamu! fiesta! forever!" in my head and I had to run with that vibe for the card, LOL! So I found just the perfect papers that were nice and bright and still had that girly girl flair then blinged it up with some pretty blue jewels. Now don't forget that Rio also comes with a funky little bat friend but I think I scared him off with all these bright colors and he didn't quite make it onto my card. ;)

Okey dokey, now you'll want to pop on over to Catherine's blog for the next stop on the hop!
Have fun!
