TGIF my friends!
It's the 7th and that means we have a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. The theme this go round is "Leaves". Around here the leaves have already started to change color. I've got two big birch trees in my front yard and just yesterday I noticed how many little yellow leaves were already blanketing the ground. So when I started flipping through my stamps and came across this sweet Pixie from Whimsy Stamps sitting on a branch full of leaves I new I had a winner. I was inspired by the great Sandy Allnock to try my hand at coloring in a vast Autumn forest below Pixie and make it look like he is perched in a tree way up high on a mountain side. All in all I feel like I was pretty successful though more practice certainly wouldn't hurt. :)
Ok, so now it's your turn to go find some leaf themed stamps, paper or embellishments and get creative with us! The "LEAVES" themed challenge runs for the next two weeks and as always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store to be won!

Wishing you a lovely day...
Hello, hello!
It's my day to post over at the Greeting Farm blog and since the 10 Year Anniversary Kit just showed up in my mailbox on Tuesday I had to cut into it and start getting inky right away. There is no way I can choose a favorite image from the kit, with so many long time favorite characters making an appearance, but I have been waiting the longest time for a new Big Time Anya so she was my first choice for this card. As much fun as I have stamping up and making scenes with all the fun mini stamps, there is something about having a nice big character filling up your card front that makes my crafty heart extremely happy. I love, love, love coloring up these stylish girls and really getting into all the details of their hair and clothes. I decided to stamp this beauty in a light ink for a bit of no-line coloring then proceeded to color her into an early Autumn flower garden. The resulting scene is bright and cheery which is exactly what I was going for. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a little fun today...
Hello crafty friends!
With Fall creepin' up on us I really wanted to get this adorable little baseball player into one final game of the season. The stamp is one of the new clear stamps from the Dreamerland Crafts July release and it is called Lets Hit a Home Run. As soon as I laid eyes on this little guy a scene of him standing at home plate popped into my head and I just had to try and recreate it on a card. The chain link fence was a little tricky and don't look too closely because those links sure aren't evenly spaced but I do think it succeeds in coming across as intended. For some reason this cutie brings to mind the Kenny Rogers song, The Greatest... especially the verse that says, "Little boy, in a baseball hat, stands in the field with his ball and bat, says I am the greatest player of them all, puts his bat on his shoulder and he tosses up his ball". :)
Later gators!

You're in my thoughts...
Hey there!
I have been hit with a cold so sadly no crafting got done by me yesterday. Luckily I made this card a couple weeks ago for just such an occasion. This digital beauty is Lucky Wishes from A Day For Daisies and I have been a long time fan of these lovely images. The blue color scheme was completely inspired by this scrap of old floral paper from my scrap bag. I think the last time I used it was back in my scrapbooking days, LOL! Alrighty, I'm gonna wrap this up quick so I can go take some Dayquil and hope I make it through the day.
Toodles!

Get well wishes...
Good morning!
Whew! What a weekend, it was a lot of fun but it wiped me out, LOL! Luckily, I've got a stack of cards just waiting to be posted here for the times when I am just too tired or busy to create something new. Some of you may remember this card from a Greeting Farm release a few months back featuring the Fairy Happy set. I always thought this one had a kind of Fallish feel to it so it is perfect timing posting it now. This sweet fairy sleeping on the feather absolutely stole my heart and I knew I wanted to make it look like there were several fairies being rocked gently on the breeze. I also wanted to flip the direction of one so I grabbed my handy dandy mirror stamp and used it to turn the middle one around. And the no-line coloring technique lends a softness to the over all scene that suits these slumbering sweeties. :)
Alrighty, I'm off to work... laters!

It's Halloween, Witches! Round 2
Hello, hello!
Just a quick Sunday post to thank everyone who stopped by the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group yesterday and helped make it an amazingly fun release day! The team had a blast introducing everyone to Black Cat Bess, Full Moon Faye, Pumpkin Patch Prue and Spider Web Sylvia along with their coordinating background builders. And the celebration continues on today, the special bundle is still available in the store where if buy all four of the witches you get the background bundle set for free and I will doing another couple of live coloring videos with a chance to win Black Cat Bess!
For my cards today I've employed an old trick but a great trick that really highlights the versatility of digital stamps. I've resized each of the witches to blow them up nice and big and then crop in tight for a super fun to color head shot of each. I love playing with this technique for those days when you just really want to color faces and hair. ;)
Well thanks again for the warm welcome back to Sweet November and I can't wait to see your It's Halloween, Witches! cards. :)

Are you ready to go back to Sweet November Land?
Good morning friends!
I've been teasing all week about some big news and the day has finally arrived... Sweet November Stamps is back! Kelly Neis, the owner of 7 Kids Crafting Supply Store has been very persistent about getting me to illustrate for her and after months of convincing, she finally managed to pull me out of my drawing retirement. So after all these years the veil is finally lifting and it is time to take that magical journey back to Sweet November Land. I think it only makes sense that we find ourselves visiting just as summer draws to a close and the shorter days and longer nights of Autumn are creeping in. Do you remember the dark and twisty wood on the outskirts of Sweet November Land? It's the place where we find haunted houses and creepy castles. That spooky village is still inhabited year round by a host of quirky characters that are a little tricksy but a real treat to meet. So light up a jack o' lantern and hold it high as we cautiously trek back into the woods to see who we can find because it's Halloween, witches!
The first little witch that we happen upon is Pumpkin Patch Prue and she is proud to grow the finest most prize winning pumpkins in all of Sweet November Land. But be wary of carving her pumpkins into Halloween jack o'lanterns because the magic Prue uses to help them grow has a tendency to bring the jacks to life!
The next witch we meet is Spider Web Sylvia and she is the weaver of dreams and mystical incantations. She spins her magic spells like a spider spins its web. Her work may look delicate but once a spell is cast there is no escaping it.
Full Moon Faye is the fastest broom flyer in all of Sweet November Land. There is nothing she loves more than racing moon beams through the night sky and playing tag with all her batty friends as they flit and fly about.
And finally we find Black Cat Bess who knows that the best friend a witch can have is of the feline purrrr-suasion. And while she loves all kitties big and small Bess sprinkles a little magic on all of the black cats in the land to make them extra special. ;)
All four of the "It's Halloween, Witches" digital stamps as well as the set of coordinating Background Builders, which includes the Full Moon, Bubbling Cauldron, Pumpkin Patch and Spooky Tree, can now be purchased in the 7 Kids store. And for a limited time if you buy all four witches you will get the Background Builder set for FREE! Speaking of free, we also have a free digi image available this weekend only to members of the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. And the fun continues with games and more giveaways all day today in the group. I hope you can make the time to join us because I will also be doing a couple of live coloring videos today as well! :)
