Be Mine

Are you ready for some football?!

Hello friends... yes, it is Superbowl Sunday here in the good ol' US of A. The most epic day of the year if you would believe the claims of some commercials. Pffffft... whatevs... personally I've got zero interest in the whole to-do and couldn't even tell you which teams are playing. Instead the house will be blissfully quiet and I plan to spend my day off in the crafty room stamping and coloring. Oooh, but I've got to remember that The Voice starts tonight after the game and I don't want to miss that! ;)

Ok, so I'm a bit of a bad blogger... you see, today's card was actually one that I made for the last Some Odd Girl digi release while I was still on the team. But somehow between all of the other new release hoopla going on at the same time I neglected to actually post it here. For shame! But I'm going with the 'better late than never' excuse on this one, LOL!
The card features Valentine's Tia digital stamp and I used a small Basic Grey sentiment stamp to add the message onto her heart. The papers are old Sassafras scraps that I had and I must say that this is probably one of my most fave lines that they ever did... it was the sweet owls that really hooked me. In fact, that little owl was actually a part of the paper that got cut off when I trimmed the paper for the front of the card and since I couldn't bear to toss him in the trash, I went ahead and gave him a little home here. Originally his eyes were closed but I simply grabbed a brown Copic to color them all in then glued on googly eyes (something that I picked up from the talented Kelly Booth)! I think it adds a lot of fun to the scene, like, "Whooo is this crazy girl wanting to be my Valentine?"

Alrighty folks, Superbowl or not, I hope you have a great Sunday!
Adios!

I swear Amy, we so need to get together one of these days. lol.. The voice is the One and only reason that I can't wait for the Super Bowl. heehee... I have been waiting for it ever since I sall the first commercial. I do love your card. The papers are just adorable and they sure make Valentine Tia look perfectly at home even if the owl is just a little freaked out by her. lol.. I hope you have a great day. I had purchased 'The Help' yesterday so that I could watch it with my headphones on and be crafty today, but Madi and I couldn't wait and we stayed up very late to watch it last night. Great Movie! Oh well, I think I'll have to pull out 'Wimbledon' and enjoy it while I make my cards. lol..
Have a great day and if your luckly like us today the sunshine as well. Hugs, Lisa

Sweet and adorable, Amy. You are genius! I never would've thought of coloring over "closed eyes" then adding googly eyes! So clever! This owl is a cute! I learn new tips and tricks from you all the time! Valentine Tia so so cute and I can't imagine a sentiment stamp small enough to fit that tiny heart!

Hahaha! K, I have a confession to make. I'm only interested in football when the SF teams make it (I tend to jump in the bandwagon because of the hype over here)!! Teehee!! I only watched the end of the superbowl (dramatic btw), the half-time show (Madonna's still at it!), and a few of the commercials were uber funny!!

And you've got some old but fab papers here!! Yay for using your stash! Very cute, and great job on the owl! I've watched the beginning of The Voice and have the rest recorded! So far so good!!

I didn't care about the game either, the commercials were ok, but I was GLUED to the couch to watch the VOICE!! I've been pining for it since they announced they were coming back Super Bowl Sunday. This season is starting off in high gear!!
Have a gr8 hump day!!
