Hello my fellow stampers!
Another week, another card... or two... or three... :)
But before I get to my card for today I'm going to take a minute to talk The Hunger Games. I finished reading the series this past weekend and I gotta say that I was so disappointed with how it all ended. I'm not going to go into details here since I don't want to spoil it for anyone reading the books but I got to the end of Mockingjay and was left with such an overwhelmingly unsatisfied feeling that it has been bothering me all weekend. I know it's silly because they are just books but the first two were fantastic, loved them both and I was totally along for the ride. But the finale fell completely short for me. I guess I was just expecting/hoping that traits in certain characters that were built up and oft repeated would payoff in the conclusion rather than almost feeling like they were thrown by the wayside and/or forgotten in order to wrap the whole thing up quickly. Sigh... ok, book nerd signing off now. LOL
Now it's time to switch gears to stamping nerd instead... ;)
Ok, so the new Beans from The Greeting Farm totally had me at 'hello'. There is something about those chubby baby bellies and crazy hair that just melted my heart and I had to have them both. One thing to note though, each of the Beans is a large, single clear stamp that is surrounded by extra doodle-like images. I assumed that all those little extras were separate stamps but they are not. Luckily, polymer stamps are super easy to cut up and I'm much happier with having all of the images apart from each other so that I can pick and choose what I want to ink up for a card. I'm sure most all of you knew they were one big image but I wanted to throw that out there just in case. :)
The first of the two cuties to get inked up was Glimmer Bean because those crazy, coiled rolls of hair looked like a lot of fun to color. And, because I had cut apart all of the accessories that came with Glimmer, it was easy to use the wings, that were originally part of the included heart motif, on her instead. Now she can flutter to and fro rather than toddle about all the time.
Alrighty, time for me to go do the whole hair and make-up routine before work.
Later gators!

Have a GREAT week!!!

Beautiful, but I'm really curious about the 'traits in certain characters that were built up and oft repeated would payoff in the conclusion' comment. I loved the series (so nice to see a strong female protagonist) and I did like the ending. Maybe I need to reread them more slowly now that the rush to find out what happens next has worn off.
Aww.. I'm so jealous of your Cool Bean, lol. I went to get order one and tshe is sold out!
Love what you've done with her, she is simply adorable.
Tons of Hugs, Dangina
Just adorable, Amy. Love the purple hair and the tiny wings. I agree with you that she's more fun without all those doodles.
Marianne x
Eeeeeeeeeeek! I looooove her! TGF, please restock already! I adoooore what you did with her hair! And this is such a stunning card. Love how her hair pops out! :) Amazing color scheme! That ribbon is to die for!
I forgot to add.....I've been meaning to read The Hunger Games but have not yet. I'm determined to at least finish the first one by the time I see the movie. You are not alone, though. Sometimes, a book or a movie's story line bothers me so much that I obsess about it too!
BTW, I received my Designed to Color magazine in print! Such a wonderful couple of pages featuring your work...such awesome coloring!!! They look computer-generated :).
Sorry to hear the HG series ending fell short for you. Hate when that happens, especially when the beginning starts off soo good. BUMMER!
I have to say I NEVER would have thought to cut up the image! I like your thinking and always love coming here for tips and such. Sooo getting to Glimmer, she is soo cute!! I love her hair and those wings look much better on her than the heart. Gorgeous card Amy!! TFS!
;)
