Thanks a latte

Good morning!

So this card is very clean and simple in its design and it's the first in what I suspect will be a long list of "thank you" cards that I make in the near future. There have been many wonderful people who have been completely amazing to me and my family during Mom's illness so I have a lot to be grateful and thankful for and I need to tell them that.

I've had this little A la Mode stamped up for a long time and I actually started coloring her last month shortly after Mom got sick. But when everything really started happening she kind of got put to the side. Yesterday I finally found myself at my crafty desk and everything just kind of fell together. There is a lot of rub-on action going on here, both with the flowers and the sentiment that I put on the strip of vellum. And seeing as how I've been spending quite a bit of time in Seattle recently I couldn't resist drawing in a play on the Starbucks logo on those coffee cups. ;)

On the mom front, she continues to do well. They had to go back in and replace one of the drains in her on Friday and they removed the breathing tubes yesterday so that is great. She's currently still in CCU but hopefully she will be transferred out of there soon.

Alrighty, I'm off to work today. have a good one my friends!

Using the vellum allows the sentiment to stand out but not dominate the card. And totally digging your play on the starbucks logo, lol!

Just checked in... it was nice to see you've been creating - and such gorgeousness too :-) Love the use of vellum on this, and who knew rubons could look so good, lol. So glad your Mum is improving, hopefully she'll be closer to home soon - it makes it easier for you to visit and also increases the "pool" of people who do visit (once she's not SO ill she'll want more visitors, it'll be nice for you to be not-so-essential, I'm sure) Thinking of you all, Donna ☺

Such a cute card! Love the vellum and the Starbucks Logo's. Even the newspaper background and flowers all tie in so well together.
So glad to hear your mom is doing better. Hopefully with each new day there will be more and more healing and improving and she will come home soon.

Amy this is just adorable! I have that stamp and I can assure you that my card didn't come close to being this cute. lol.... Love it. I am very glad to hear that your Mom is getting better. Very happy for her that they took the breathing tube out. I have never had one, but seeing my Dad with one is enough for me to know that although it is a life saver I really never want one. I hope that your day at work is quick and easy one. You always continue to amaze me. Not only do you make the prettiest things, but you work and see to your Mom. Lady you are super strong, and I am sure that is something pasted down to you from you Mom. Sorry, I just see things in my mind very elaquently, but when it comes to writing them I'm no Amy Young. lol..
Have a great day my friend. Hugs

I'm loving the laid back color scheme. I was just in Portland and I saw this color combo everywhere :). The chevron print is currently my fave!!
