Sunny smiles...

Good morning!

I've been having fun coloring the cute Sunny Smiles kiddos into various beach and pool scenes so I wanted to change things up for this card. This little guy wanted to cool down in a lake setting so I grabbed the older Horizon Lines: Reflections background set and stamped it in grey behind him. Then out front in the foreground I added cattails and a little fish peeking out of the water from the Fairwees Make a Splash Expansion set. Everything really came together to create the feel of a lazy summer day spent floating on the lake. :)

Toodles!

You arrrgh amazing...

Hello again!

It's a review weekend at Sweet November Stamps and the team and I are sharing more cards using stamps from the new Summertime Adventures clear release. I still had a few scenes stamped up with cuties from the A Wee Bit of Piracy and the Yo Ho Ho Background Builder sets so I grabbed this dueling duo and got to coloring. If you would like to see it all come together there is a quick Reel over on Instagram and a longer speed coloring version will also eventually be added to the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel. The sentiment is an older one from Purple Onion Designs and I thought it was too funny not to use with this fun scene.

Toodles!  :)

It is you that blossoms...

Hello!

I'm up on the Bellarific blog with a pretty summer scene for this week's Scenic Saturday card. I had the idea to slightly alter the Alice in Wonderland Rabbit Hole Backdrop and make it work with a non Wonderland character. Curvy Girl Can Buy Herself Flowers was the perfect character to play around with for this crafty experiment and I hope you like the results as much as I do.

I began by stamping and masking Curvy Girl Can Buy Herself Flowers onto this sheet of Copic X-Press It card stock that was already die cut to have a fancy, frilly edge. I then masked off the frilly edges before stamping the Alice in Wonderland Rabbit Hole Backdrop high atop the card front. Now, before stamping I took a damp shammy to wipe the ink away from the actual rabbit hole. This left me with a blank hillside once I had stamped the image. From there is was super easy to just color in the rise of land as dirt. This simple technique really made for a big transformation and opens up all sorts of possibilities for this amazing backdrop stamp. Now our pretty Curvy Girl looks like she has been busy gathering a bouquet out in the countryside. The message I chose is one of two sentiments included in the Cherry Blossom Branch set and I thought it complemented this idyllic scene beautifully. As I'm always saying, don't be afraid to tweak and alter the themed stamps in your crafty stash, because you never know how amazing they will look in your more generic scene cards until you get brave enough to play.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!
