And the angel said...

Hello friends!

This little sweetie from the Baby Angels set at CC Designs completely stole my heart as soon as I saw her. So when I found myself with a little bit of crafting time yesterday, I knew just who I wanted to ink up. There is something about her shy looking pose that had me imagining her up on stage reciting this passage just like Linus does in the classic Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon. A soft, hesitant voice, with a hint of a lisp, growing slightly louder under that spotlight as her confidence grows. Even without her homemade wings she is every bit the precious Christmas angel. I wish the gold card stock showed up better in this photo because the shimmer is much prettier in real life. I gotta say, I just want to give this card a big hug... LOL!

Warm my heart...

Olo!

I'm going back to the Christmas clear release celebration at Sweet November Stamps with this cozy Christmas scene that we colored up during the release weekend Lives on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. SN Gal Candie is busy decorating her small apartment for the holidays thanks to the window that I borrowed from the Simple Room: Autumn Add-on. I also masked the window so that I could add just a bit of the City Sidewalks Background Builder off in the distance. The carpet texture beneath Candie's feet was added in using one of the stamps from the Simple Room: Christmas Add-on set. We got extra crafty with the adding of the snowflake print to her sweater by masking, stamping and heat embossing them on. All in all I think we ended up with a super cute card that puts a smile on my face.  :)

Dreaming of a White Christmas...

Hey there!

The second Ohuhu coloring video series has wrapped up today over on the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel. Over the past four weeks I have been breaking down this vintage inspired Christmas scene, featuring Merry Margaret from the Shiny Brite digi collection, sharing various color combinations that I've put together using the Ohuhu Honolulu markers. The background and sentiment are from the Winterscapes Horizon Lines clear set, which made creating Merry Margaret's winter wonderland super easy. Now that all of the videos are out, I can finally share the completed card here on the ol' blog. Creating color blends with these new-to-me markers continues to be a challenge, but it is a fun one. Due to the holidays I will be taking a short hiatus from creating videos, so look for the next Ohuhu series to start after the new year.  :)

Flower Fairies of the winter...

 

Good morning!

We added two new 2x3 Monthly Flower Fairies with the Wonderful Winter clear release at Sweet November Stamps. Continuing on through the months, we've now got the beautiful December Narcissus Fairy and January Snowdrop Fairy. I've gotta say, it's exciting getting down to the end... only two more to go to have a complete set of all 12 months!

December Narcissus Fairy is just as sweet as she can be with her pretty side braid and petal cap. The snow white petals of her gown kissed by the barest hint of golden sunshine add to her ethereal beauty.

 

January Snowdrop Fairy is a playful little pixie with her bouncy curls and jaunty cap. She may represent the coldest month of the year but she also embodies the hope of a coming spring after the long winter. There is certainly nothing drab about this cutie!

A Wonderful Winter day 2...

This mini slimline scene captures the wonder and magic of the Northern Lights dancing across a moonless winter night, while a cute baby 'bominable and his polar bear cub bestie from the Baby 'Bominable Winter Wonders set have settled down into the snow to enjoy the show above them. I've also got another cute snowman from the Snow Buddy Like You set to share today. This friendly snowman has gotten down to eye level with his small field mouse friend, I just hope that mouse doesn't start nibbling on his carrot nose! The background was put together using a pine tree and pine cones from the Winter Wonderland Horizon Lines set and the snow covered fence from the Winterscapes Horizon Lines set. 

Finally, I colored this adorable girl and her puppy pals from the new Downhill Dashers set during yesterday's afternoon Live on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. Don't they all look so happy flying down that mountainside that was colored in by hand? It was a great card for practicing perspective techniques and creating a sense of motion just through deliberate brush strokes. And don't get me started on the great color suggestions... they turned out so girly and sweet!

Last Saturday I colored up a sneak peek of Flutterbee Lyra during my Live on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and we turned her into a stylish little ice skater. Lyra stands out like a ray of sunshine on a cold and snowy day in her pretty yellow and grey skating outfit as she glides past the snow covered pines from the older Winter Wonderland Horizon Lines set.

We also have a new Limited Edition stamp set in this release... the popular Coffee Mice digital stamps are being offered as clear stamps in the 4x6 More Than Coffee set. With these Limited Edition sets we only do a single run and once they all sell out the Coffee Mice will once again only be available as digital stamps. The new Downhill Dashers set is full of cute kiddos and their puppy pals grabbing their sleds and taking to the snow covered hills for some frosty fun. There are so many to choose from in this set and I went with the little girl pulling her sled along behind her as her pup races to the top of the hill for my card. For the background I had fun manipulating one of the scenes from the older Horizon Lines: Winterscapes set to create the village off in the distance. 

 

Some new snowmen are also being introduced today in the Snow Buddy Like You set. This particular friendly snowman is taking a cocoa break with a cheeky little forest squirrel. The frozen hillside in the background is part of the the older Winter Wonderland Horizon Lines set.

Finally for today, we are hosting a three day Instahop over on Instagram and we've got something extra special for this last hop of the year.
