Make some waves...

TGIF my friends!

So this card was colored up during the Live last Saturday using the new Lovely Mermees set. Because we started off with a blank canvas we first had to decide whether to put her under the sea or above the waves. The overwhelming consensus had her sitting up at the surface and my fellow crafters also wanted to see more crashing waves. The color palette that we used on the mermaid also had me leaning towards a night scene so we used a Tim Holtz moon mask to help us out with that. After the Live ended and I was putting together the completed card I did decide that the overall design would benefit having something to balance against the mermaid so I sketched in the silhouette of a distant lighthouse directly beneath the full moon. I also added a sentiment from the Mermees #3 set that tied directly in with the wavy scene.

Later gators!

Like mermaids and water...

Olo!

This is my last card that I've got left to share from the Tails from the Sea release weekend Lives, which is kinda ironic since it was the very first Live on Saturday. The scene features both of the mermaids resting on rocks from the fun Mer Friends set and we ended up coloring them into the opening of a sea cave. The sun is rising behind them as the tide waters come crashing into shore. It's always a great time when we get to play with a lot of strong contrast and light versus dark areas throughout a scene. And this card had the added bonus of rough, choppy water coloring. It really was a great way too kick off the release.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Just keep swimming...

Hey, hey!

This mini slimline card was made for the Tails from the Sea YouTube hop during release weekend at Sweet November Stamps. In the video I share how I color these mermaids and their dolphin friend from The Pod Squad set to look like they are partially submerged beneath the waves. They are cruising through the shallows on their way to a magical mermaid adventure and we are just along for the ride. The bird's eye view scenes are always a favorite and I can't wait to see what other scenarios I can put these pretty mermaids in.  :)

I've flipped for you...

Hey friends!

Today's card features the second of the wide eyed and wild haired mermaids from the new Shimmer and Shine clear set from Sweet November Stamps. This sun filled scene was colored during the release weekend Lives over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. The pretty pastel rainbow hair certainly plays up her quirky cuteness and the sun rays filtering down through the water add extra cheer to this fun card. The fish joining her are from the older Something's Fishy set while the kelp they are swimming through are from the new Kelp Bed Background Builder set. It all came together in this bright and happy scene that definitely brings the smiles! :)

Have a good one!

Pearl-fect, just the way you are...

Good morning!

Now that June is here how could I not share this card using the new June Pearl Dragon from Sweet November Stamps. This cutie is the third installment in the year long Birthstone Dragon series and the pearl made this one perfect for a cool beach scene. So I stamped it up and paired the dragon with the Seaside Cliffs Background Builder set before coloring this during a Live on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. The suggestions that I got from my fellow crafters prompted the sunset colors and playing with shadows that adds a dreamy vibe to the overall look of the card. It's always a fun journey during the Lives, never knowing exactly where the scenes are going to land and then ending up with another magical card.  :)

Have a great week everybody!

You shore do make me smile...

Hello again!

With the end of this year's MerMay challenge that we have been hosting for the past four weeks in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps Facebook group, I can now share the scene that the progression digi prizes all come together to create. Inky, the octopus, was the week 1 prize, then week 2 participants got the Mermaid Reef. Mermaid Coralie was the prize for week 3 and last night mermaid Flavia was sent out to all of the week 4 participants. All four of these digital stamps were designed to work as a cohesive scene, though they are all just as fun to mix and match with the other digis in your collection too. Like all of our past challenge digi prizes, these will be exclusive to those who played along until next year when we finally add them to the store for everyone else to get. So, a big thanks to every one of our SN friends who joined the fun for MerMay and helped to make the celebration even bigger and better! I can't wait to see these images pop up on the cards you share with us.  :)

Toodles!
