TGIF my friends!
So this card was colored up during the Live last Saturday using the new Lovely Mermees
set. Because we started off with a blank canvas we first had to decide whether to put her under the sea or above the waves. The overwhelming consensus had her sitting up at the surface and my fellow crafters also wanted to see more crashing waves. The color palette that we used on the mermaid also had me leaning towards a night scene so we used a Tim Holtz moon mask to help us out with that. After the Live ended and I was putting together the completed card I did decide that the overall design would benefit having something to balance against the mermaid so I sketched in the silhouette of a distant lighthouse directly beneath the full moon. I also added a sentiment from the Mermees #3 set that tied directly in with the wavy scene.
Later gators!
