Totally 'thankful' for some new SOG digis

So the Odd Girl herself, Kristy, decided to sneak in a quick little Thanksgiving themed Special November release. All three of the adorable new Thanksgiving digi stamps are available in the SOG store now! And with the instant gratification of digital stamps there is still plenty of time to make a card or two or three before the holiday arrives. :)

Today I'm sharing the card I made using Turkey because I instantly fell in love with this little gobbler as soon as I saw him. Something about him kind of reminds me of an old Warner Bros. cartoon so I envision him having plenty of spunk and attitude. This is one bird who is wily enough to convince everyone that they should be enjoying a nice ham for Thanksgiving dinner instead of the traditional alternative. ;)

Olo!

I'm still slowly on the mend here... everyday I feel a bit less like the walking dead and more like myself... thank goodness. I'm tellin' ya, it hasn't been pretty, LOL! ;)

And luckily for me, I still have some cards left over from the SOG Nouveau Girl release that I haven't shared here on the ol' blog yet. So even when all I've wanted to do was curl up on the couch with a furry friend or two, I've still got something to post.
I went 100% frou-frou girly girl with this one featuring Nouveau Bliss. She just brought to mind an ancient goddess so I couldn't resist going to town with the ribbon roses and ruffles. I thought the soft textures and color palette would work nicely to help bring to mind her flowing robes and serene beauty. The bliss part of the sentiment is actually the stamp that comes with her, I just added in my own hand written 'follow your' with a black pen to change it up a bit.

Merry Christmas sweetie

Good morning...

I'm still far from feeling 100% but I can't hit a world pause button until I feel better, so it is back to work for me today. Thankfully I got in a nice and restful day yesterday that helped a lot. And the bonus was... waking up at 9:30am only to realize that the 'fall back' time change had occurred during the night and it was only 8:30am, woot woot! That really helped me feel like I didn't entirely sleep the day away while trying to beat this cold. :)

By the time afternoon rolled around, I was even feeling well enough to play in the crafty room for a bit. And since I had just gotten my order of new November stamps from TGF this was the perfect time to get a little inky. I couldn't remember the last time I had colored up an Anya, which is such a shame as she was my very first stampy love, so Holiday Anya had to get on a card. She is such a lovely addition to the Anya line and was super quick to color up, which was great!
I still had the Merry Little Christmas 6x6 pad on my desk and I thought the red and pink combo fit this Anya to a 'T'... kinda girly and Christmas-y all at the same time. Then I just played around with a couple different border punches and a Martha Stewart holly punch to finish off the rest of the card. Nothing new or earth-shattering about this but I love how it came together. :)

Alrighty, time to pop a DayQuil and get a move on.

Hey there...
I am sick as a dog this morning, ugh! This terrible head cold actually started creeping up on me Friday and has only gotten worse since then. Yesterday at work was down right miserable and I am SO thankful to have today off and hopefully get over this bug.

Before I grab another NyQuil and head back to bed, I wanted to share the card I made for the new challenge over at Some Odd Girl this past week. It's an art inspiration challenge using a great 1902 print by Alphonse Mucha called the Thistle from the Sands. Maybe the colors will inspire you or some of the design elements... with the release of the three new Nouveau girls we just had to do it. :)

I used the lovely Grow for my art inspired card and pulled out some old flourish stamps that hadn't seen ink in years because I thought they would make for a cool background for her.

Since Santa is all about caring and giving I thought it was quite an appropriate choice for the occasion. The kinda vintage/retro designs with the bright, fun colors worked perfectly with this jolly old elf. :)

This snowgirl will melt your heart

Mornin' friends!

Are you ready to bundle up and make the journey back into Sweet November Land? The inhabitants of this magical place are still getting ready for a very special holiday season and the fairies, elves and sprites are getting help from some seasonal visitors that only appear once the first snow covers the land. Sure, this time of year it is fun to roll that snow and stack it high into a snowman or two but in Sweet November the snowmen come to life! It's easy enough to find them, all you have to do is follow the wide paths that they leave as they shuffle to and fro.

So far we have met a lot of wonderful snowmen but there is also a cutie snowgirl that makes Sweet November her home during the winter months and her name is Adorn D. Yard. Adorn may not be as flashy or as boisterous as the rest of her freezy family but that doesn't mean that she doesn't go all out for the holidays in her own special way. Adorn's take on decorating is more homespun and crafty and she encourages all of her little forest friends to help her out. She especially loves working with the Fairwees to string popcorn garlands for the trees. Since she can't get too close to the heat of a fire that is traditionally used to pop the corn, instead, the Fairwees use their magic to pop it and in exchange Adorn helps place the finished garlands all around. And she doesn't even mind when a Fairwee or little field mouse decides to snack on some of the decor... it's a perfect excuse to string more!

She's also got some sweet Christmas candy to share too, just take a look-see...
