Full moon friends

Hello, hello again sha-boop sha-boop...

I'm squeezing in a review preview card before we jump into October previews next week. It was nice to have a reason to ink up little Boo and Scary Larry once again. It also gave me a chance to break into the We R Black Widow paper pad which had this fantastic background that I love. Yes, I admit that even though I've been on a creative hiatus these past few months that doesn't necessarily mean that I've been on a shopping hiatus as well. I'm sure that some of it was retail therapy to feel 'good' during some of the harder times but for the most part it was all on my wish list after summer CHA. The only problem has been boxes piling up a bit in my scrappy room as I haven't been putting things away and/or using them like I usually did. Sigh... I should really try to find some time to get organized otherwise it will just get harder and harder to actually create anything.
Luckily that wasn't a huge issue yet and my Boo card came together very quickly. Does anyone else feel like they could use a hug like the one Boo is giving Larry? :)
Don't forget to check out the ATS blog today for more Sweet November spookables.

Well...

Hello, hello my friends!

So I had intended to have this card made for a review preview this past week but there was a bit of a hiccup in that plan when my mom ended up going back to the hospital in Seattle on Wednesday. She is still there but I'm hoping that she will get to return home sometime this week. No worries in this being a huge setback or anything, it's just a part of her healing process and she really is right where she needs to be. It certainly doesn't help that the air quality is so extremely poor here, the smoke is just thick and horrible... you can't even see the mountains across the lake anymore! I'll be so glad when we get some rain to help put out all of the forest fires.

Anywhoozzle... all that to say that this card took a bit longer to finish than I thought it would. ;)
But I really wanted to color up this sweet new Lucy with her great hair and funny little chicken pals. The background was a real no-brainer, as soon as I opened up the Harvest Lane 6x6 paper pad it's like the pieces all put themselves together. Which is a big reason why I LOVE Simple Stories so much. When I spotted that house in the print it reminded me of a chicken coop for Lucy's feathered friends.

Well, I promise you'll be hearing more from me soon... October previews are right around the corner and I can't wait for you to see what we have in store for Christmas. :)

Catching up

Hi guys... so this post is a little longer in coming than I would have liked. I was planning on writing this on Friday but the internet was down most of the day and I suspect the forest fires that we have burning across the lake are to blame. Yes, last Saturday we had a wicked lightening storm pass through the area and now our little corner of the world is filled with smoke and haze as there are a number of fires burning in Eastern Washington. We aren't in any immediate danger or anything so no worries there.

Also, my mom was released from the hospital on the 5th and I have been staying with her and helping with her home care. Unfortunately there isn't an internet connection out there so I'm feeling pretty cut off from my little online world right now. I have been reading a lot but the situation hasn't been very conducive to card making. Though now that I've finished The Night Circus, which is completely wonderful, magical and amazing by the way, I'm thinking about packing up my Copics and seeing what I can get colored in the evenings. Then who knows, I may actually be able to make a card or two. I'm not making any promises on that though, not even to myself, as my creative mojo has been on a major hiatus through everything that I have going on.

So posts here will most likely remain sporadic for the time being. Believe me, I still love stamping, coloring and making cards but until my life calms back down a bit this just has to be put on the back burner. It makes me sad to admit that but a shift in priorities is a must right now. Hope you all understand and I'll keep in touch. :)

XOXO

Boo to you!

Hey there! So what do you say we make a quick jaunt back through that deep, dark and twisty wood just beyond Sweet November Land? Back to the place where we will find haunted houses, creepy castles and mad scientist labs galore. That spooky village is still inhabited year round by a host of quirky characters that are both a little sweet and a little sour. The only time that they venture out into our world is on that one special night of October 31st. It is then that they can blend in with the crowds of innocent trick-or-treaters and play mischief on all they meet.
So light up a jack o' lantern and hold it high as we cautiously trek on into the woods to see who we can find...

Well look-ee there! Do you remember that roaming band of ghosts that kept plaguing Thurston and Gobsmack? Apparently they have finally found their own spooky manor to haunt and the little Boos are going all out to decorate it up for the upcoming Halloween festivities. They are so pudgy and cute that I can't believe they were such a nuisance before. Surely their bad reputation has more to do with the sour attitudes of the crazy vampire and goblin than anything the Boos actually did. And when they proceed to invite us all to their very first Boo Bash, you know these little spooks are quickly becoming some of my most favorite new friends!

The sweet ghostly candy that they have to share just cements the deal... check it out...

The Boo candy kit includes; one Sweet November Boo set rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheets of Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor paper, small Studio G acrylic sentiment stamps, Prima flowers and Kaiser Craft pearls, ribbon, twine, buttons, Rock Candy stickles, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.

All you have to do for a chance to win the candy is leave a comment on this post. If you link to the candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. I will ship the candy anywhere in the world so everyone is encouraged to play! :)

The candy will stay open through Saturday, September 8th and I will announce the winners on Sunday, September 9th. And just so you know... all of the new September stamps will be available for purchase tonight at the ATS store.

Alrighty, now be sure to visit the Sweet November Gals' blogs! Nancy and Marion each have cards that are way too cute to spook! :)

Once again... instead of using random generator I will be printing out names and tossing them in a hat SO if you leave comments for the SN gals on their blogs, you will get an extra name in the hat for each one that you do... this will up your chances of winning the candy... fun, fun, fun!

And with that we have another Sweet November release in the books. I know that this one was short and sweet but that doesn't make these new additions to the Sweet November Land crew any less special. Thanks so much for joining in all the fun and don't forget to run on over to the ATS blog for even more chances to win today!

This little piggy went wee wee wee...

Olo!

We are rolling right along with the September release previews today over at All That Scraps!  It's all about the new down-on-the-farm fabulous stamps from Mashi's Muffins and there is just something about Farmer Fran that brought back childhood memories of visiting the county fair each September. Riding the rides, munching on the cotton candy and funnel cakes and of course checking out the animal barns. Which explains the blue ribbon inspiration that I went with for my card. I think Fran looks super proud of her little prize winning piglet.  :)

All of the new stamps and dies will be available for purchase in the ATS store on Thursday, September 6th at 9pm CST. And if you head on over to the ATS blog, not only will you find loads of inspiration from my teamies but there is also a chance to win some of these new stamps as well!

Blackbird singing in the dead of night...

Hello, hello!

Well my friends, can you believe that September is here already? You know that means it is time for some brand new stamps to preview over at All That Scraps! :)

We are kicking things off with fun new fall characters from CC Designs. I just had to ink up this adorable new Scarecrow Laugh because I'm a huge fan of these little Laugh girlies. Scarecrow even comes with a blackbird buddy that I stamped up a few times... aren't they cute? Their big ol' beaks really make me smile for some reason. I came across this scrap of October Afternoon paper that made for a super quick and totally perfect background scene and as always I pulled all my Copic colors from that sheet. A small cluster of embellishments and this card was done and I love it!

All of the new stamps and dies will be available for purchase in the ATS store on Thursday, September 6th at 9pm CST. And if you head on over to the ATS blog, not only will you find loads of inspiration from my teamies but there is also a chance to win some of these new stamps as well!
