Sending Sunshine...

Olo!

I've got another fun day ahead of me today. I get off work earlier on Sundays so my mom and I will be heading to town in the afternoon for our annual trip to the Hallmark ornament premier. We each have our series that we collect, I'm a snowman and fairy girl while Mom loves Snoopy, and until last summer we had never missed a premier weekend. I think we are both doubly excited for it because of that... it's another big milestone after the whole ordeal of her illness and long hospital stay.

Ok, so considering we are mid month already I figured it was time to get a card made for the July sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl. I've been running around so much lately I knew that if I waited any longer I'd probably forget and miss out completely. I also really wanted to color up Tobie and Tia from the Beach Day Buddies set because I have actually had them stamped up and waiting on my desk since last summer. Oy!

Tobie and his little crabby friend were the first ones to make it on a card, I took the sketch and flipped it upside down so that it would work better with his seated position. That sandy beach looking paper they are sitting on is sooooo old but I'm really glad I snagged what I did on sale back in the day. I never used it when I was scrapbooking but once I moved to cards I don't think I've gone a single summer without pulling it out and using it on a card or two... love it. Sure, you can color and stamp your own backgrounds but I think that is why I'm slighted addicted to pretty papers, if they can save me all that work this lazy crafter is a very happy girl. ;)

Alrighty, time for me to scoot.

Tobie and his crab are adorable. Love the background so much. That little strip of washi tape is a perfect added touch. So glad you and your mom get to go to the premier this year, such a relief after her health scare. We'd have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to get to a Hallmark store. My mom and I did get to have a girls day out twice in the last couple weeks though. All we have near us is two dollar stores and a Bealls, better than nothing. We shared a margarita this last time, yum. Have fun and give your mom a hug from one of your biggest fans.

Amy, this is so cute and definitely makes me feel in a summery moods. I am glad that you and your Mom are able to make your yearly trek to get the ornaments from Hallmark, I am sure that you both had a fantastic day and that it truly was more special than ever before. I have to tell you that I am much like your Mom as our tree and everything around it is all Snoopy. :O) Must be my age as we love it here in the Gobea house as it has become our Christmas tradition each year to get a new Snoopy or Peanuts related thing for the for the tree. Hope this makes sence as I am so dog tired I am not sure. lol... Have a great week. Hugs, Lisa
