Now that my guest designer gig for My Favorite Things has come to an end I figured I would share the bonus cards I made for those posts here as well. My card today plays with layering all sorts of dies for some fun scene building. I knew I wanted to create a peaceful winter scene for the new Dashing Deer cuties so I first inked up a colorful sky with the Drifts and Waves stencil along the bottom edge. Then I added the Snow Capped Mountains in the distance, cutting the bottoms off along the same stencil edge. Next I grabbed both the Birch Trees and Solid Birch Trees, stacking them for a nice two tone look. The deer and bird were also cut out using their coordinating dies so that I could easily play with their placement amongst the forest trees. The A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax 2 frames it all together and the sentiment was stamped onto the Stitched Sentiment Strip, resting in the upper tree branch. As much as I have been coloring in backgrounds lately, this was a nice change of pace and it really makes me want to take the time to pull out my dies more often!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I shall see y'all tomorrow!
