Best days ever...

Hey there!

Since I began this month with a card using the cute Quokka stamps at Kat Scrappiness I figured why not end the month with another one? Once again I inked up a couple cuties from the Quokka'n Up set as well as the quokka from the Everyday Quokka set. By masking the two together up front I was able to add the excitable quokka to this happy scene even though the stamp doesn't have a bottom half to her body. Once I had colored up this happy group of pals I colored in a background that was inspired by an actual quokka photo that I found for color inspiration on Google. I gotta say, I'm still quite smitten with these fun stamps and I will definitely be adding more to my stamp collection.  ;)

For my cards I really wanted to play with all three of the sweet pairs of friends included in the Furever Friends set so I decided to create a coordinating set of three smaller note cards. I had a lot of fun putting together unique backgrounds on each card by mixing and matching images from various older Anita Jeram sets. On this first card with the cute dog and kitten I stamped just the tree from the A Fox's Life set and the tiny horizon line from the New Day Windowsill was repeated off in the distance.

The second card pairs the cat and mouse with the door from Home Sweet Home, some planters from the New Day Windowsill set and I repeat stamped the stone walk from the Topiaries and Kitten set to create the rustic looking patio.

 

Finally these adorable hugging kittens were paired with planters from both the Keep Growing and New Day Windowsill set while the little bee was borrowed from the Happy Day set. I love how just a few extra images here and there really bring these stories to life. :)

Spring is in the air...

 Hey, hey!

It's proving to be an extra busy week here so I've gotta keep this one short and sweet. This past Saturday I did a Live video over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page using the new Vintage Spring Lady Myrtle digi that was just added to the Sweet November Stamps store. This time around we see her whole lovely self and I paired Myrtle with the Berry Basket and one of the birds from the Tree Friends Maple set to help tell her story as well as the covered bridge stamp from Art Impressions for the distant background. All of this took a lot of the guess work out of coloring in the background which is always helpful in speeding things along. I had a lot of great color suggestions from my crafty peeps who were in attendance and I think the end result turned out quite lovely. :)

New Release Hop with Colorado Craft Company

Because I LOVE the Anita Jeram range of stamps and I've got a soft spot for our feline and canine companions, I naturally gravitated to the new sets featuring Anita's cute dogs and cats. My first card is designed around the large Bon Appetit stamp of this fun cat and her mice friends, playing chef in the kitchen. I used my Copic markers and kept the color palette neutral with pops of red throughout. I even used the warm grey markers to sketch in the hint of a stove and countertops behind this trio of happy friends to really complete the scene.

Next, I couldn't wait to ink up the adorable pup from the new Laundry Day set. He seems to be having quite the dilemma figuring out where that brightly colored sock has come from. I've certainly been there, done that LOL! Alrighty, I won't keep you any longer as I'm sure you are anxious to check out the rest of the hop.
