TGIF my friends!
A couple of weeks ago I did a Live coloring video on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. In that video I went over how I colored shiny Mylar balloons as well as adding floral prints to character's clothes on a couple of my previous Stamping Bella cards. Because I don't like to repeat making the same card twice I changed up the Teeny Tiny Townie Love girls by only inking up the L and the O then repeating the L again to create a whole new message. I colored the letters in three different color combos to help show that the same technique can easily be done in any color combo you want to make your balloon. So yesterday I finally got around to coloring in the girls and finishing off the rest of the card design with some fun streamer stamps from PTI stamped in coordinating colors to the Mylar balloons. Now it's a fun, tongue-in-cheek kind of birthday card ready to make someone smile on their big day. :)

Love you furever...
Hey there!
I'm getting ready for the Sweet November digi release at 7 Kids this weekend so I figured I should make sure this cutie patootie got posted before the new images come out. Duncan and Donut are part of the Puppy Love digi release and I colored these two during one of the Live videos at the beginning of the month. We changed things up and did a simple indoor scene complete with a sleek mod sofa and the hint of a window pane with the cast shadow on the carpet. It's almost like these two are just waiting for the rain to pass so they can get outside and toss that ball in a game of fetch. :)
Have a good one my friends!
Supply list:
cardstock- Lawn Fawn and Copic X-Press It
digital stamp- Sweet November (Duncan and Donut)
stamp- Honey Bee (Friends Furever set)
ink- My Favorite Things
My Favorite Things A2 stitched rectangle stax set 1

Winter Gorjuss ATCs...
Olo!
It's a pretty busy week around here so I figured I would share a these ATC cards that I made for the 7 Kids swap last month. The theme was 'anything goes' and I inked up a bunch of the mini Gorjuss Girls for some winter themed cards. The smaller size of the ATCs are always such a great way to practice a multitude of backgrounds. But as much fun as these were to create at the time, I'm glad and oh-so-ready to be moving into a new season of crafting. ;)
Ok, gotta run!

May all your wishes come true...
Hello, hello!
The temps are still on the chilly side around here but we are seeing more sunshine every day so I'm unashamedly going full tilt into spring card making. Today I was inspired by this pair of adorable fairies, Flynt and Goldie, from Purple Onion Designs. These two are so cute and I think they look right at home in the Floral Spray stamp that I paired them with. Because the Floral Spray is nice and wide, spreading across the entire card front I thought it would be cool to use it as a natural break in the card design and actually fill the bottom half of the card with some pretty pattern paper. Pretty papers were my first crafting love but these days working them onto a card just doesn't happen very often so it's nice when I can revisit my old love in a new way. I also referenced the pretty pastels in the stripe pattern to pull all my Copic combos from so that everything would match. I used to do that a lot too and it was really helpful as I was learning to mix Copic blends. This reminded me that I should challenge myself to match papers more often because it definitely got me working with a whole new color palette compared to my other recently made cards. And that, as Martha would say, is a good thing. ;)

Every path...
Good morning!
You know by now that I'm a sucker for a cute Dreamerland kiddo and this sweet girl from the October character release had me totally falling in love with her. The stamp is called With You and the original image has her dancing across a row of music notes, which while very cute, was a bit limiting to the kinds of scenes I really wanted to put her in. So I cut the music notes off the bottom of the clear stamp, creating two separate images, then cut the kitty off too and made it a single stamp as well. Now I feel like I have three images for the price of one, LOL! Once all that was done I got to stamping and masking, adding in the fence from the Mix and Match You are a Blessing set and the large tree from the Mix and Match Tree Trunks set as well as a cottage from Art Impressions. From there is was a nice and relaxing spring scene to enjoy coloring up.
Alrighty, let's get this week going... here's to a not too Monday-ish Monday. ;)

Thank you...
Hello and good morning!
I'm here with another Scenic Saturday on the Stamping Bella blog and this week is all about the new Edgar and Molly Vintage sets that were released last month. Ever since these were released I have been dying to mix and match the different sets together to see how many vintage inspired scenes I could come up with. For this first card I pulled stamps from four of the sets, Vintage Bench, Vintage Flower, Vintage Mushroom and Vintage Farm Birds to create a quaint scene of this boy and girl herding a gaggle of geese with some help from their trusty dog. By stamping the boy and dog first, then masking them I was able stamp the geese three times across the card front creating the illusion that there are a lot more geese than what comes on the original stamp. Then I masked a few of the geese before adding in the little girl so that once all the masks were removed she appears to be on one side of the parade while the boy is on the other. All they needed after that was a lovely spring day with a sunlit lane to be marching down. The sentiment I used actually comes with Oddball Bouquet but I thought it paired quite nicely with this sweet scene as the kids are helping the geese along their way. I can already tell you now that this won't be the last of the Edgar and Molly cards you see from me as I still have so many ideas I can't wait to try with them. :)
I hope your weekend is a crafty one!

Bean there for me...
TGIF my friends!
It's my turn to post on the TGF blog today and I couldn't wait to share a couple of the new Front and Back Anyas that were recently on pre-order and should be releasing very soon. For this fun coffee shop scene I paired the back of Coffee Anya FB and the front of Cupcake Anya FB and through a bit of masking was able to make it look like a barista serving her favorite morning customer. I am just so in love with the interactions you can create between the characters now and all the new scene making possibilities these backside Anyas provide... my head is already spinning with future card ideas. I really hope that these three initial Front and Back sets aren't the last we see! If you missed out on the pre-order I believe any extra sets will go up in the store but the numbers will be super limited so keep your eyes peeled. ;)

The Hard Stuff Can Wait...
Hello, hello!
What can I say... sometimes when the rain is falling it can be mighty tempting to just stay in bed where it is warm and cozy. At least this little bunny from the All Tucked In set seems to think so, LOL! By now it can't be a secret that I am a total sucker for cute stamp sets that include all sorts of accessories for scene building and this Stacey Yacula set from My Favorite Things checked all the boxes for me. Not only do they all work great together but I then get so many ideas on how I can mix and match them in with other stamps in my collection and I get excited all over again. Yes, yes, I'm a total stamping nerd and I own it! Anywho, even though most of the cards I've seen using this set take it in a more boyish direction I wanted to pretty up the room with all sorts of fun feminine prints and colors. The rainy window was inspired by the super talented Sandy Allnock and it was the perfect finishing touch for the story I wanted to tell with this card. Now if only I didn't have so much to get done today, I just might cozy back up myself. Alas, the to-do list is long and there never seem to be enough hours in the day. ;)

A lovely day...
Hey there!
So I recently stumbled across a new-to-me company called, Felicity Jane, and each month they release a new scrapbooking/card making kit named after a girl. That girl is also available as a stamp and as soon as I saw them I knew I wanted them all! I got the ones I could but I'm kinda bummed there were a lot of sold out or discontinued ones that I guess I will have to try and hunt down through the secondary market. Anywho... the reason why they struck such a cord with me is that they take me back to my childhood days and one of THE BEST Christmas presents that I ever got. It was called Fashion Plates and it had hard plastic pieces of various heads, torsos and legs that you could mix and match together then place a sheet of paper over and rub a black crayon across to create your own unique fashion girl to then color. Oh man, I spent hours and hours creating and coloring with that thing and these pretty gals totally remind me of my beloved Fashion Plates. Now I want to spend hours and hours coloring these stamps, I guess some things never really change LOL!
The first girl to get inked up was Megan because she looked very spring like with her basket of flowers and pretty day dress. I paired her with the Summer Cottage background stamp from Whimsy Stamps and I gotta say, it is a match made in stampy heaven. Doesn't Megan look right at home on that garden path? I did have to extend the background scene down to the bottom of the card but that was easy as all I had to do was color in more grass and stone path, otherwise having that stamp made for a very quick and easy background, which is always awesome! I don't know about you but I would certainly like to visit this idyllic cottage on a sunny spring day. :)
Alrighty, I'm off. Have a good one my friends!

Easter's on its way...
Olo!
Lot's to do today so just a quick post to share. I've been waiting to ink up these sweet Balloon Bunnies from Whimsy Stamps for almost a year now and with Easter finally approaching it gave me an idea for what kind of card to make with them. I wanted to color them into a scene flying high above the clouds as they each make their way to a different location where they will help welcome in the Easter celebration. I can just imagine looking up into the sky and seeing all of the new little Easter bunnies sailing out into the world on a gentle spring breeze and that makes me smile. :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Part of my pack...
Good morning!
7 Kids is hosting its first Instagram Hop today as a way to introduce the new team. The hop starts at 10 am PST and to participate all you have to do is visit each team members Instagram account and leave a comment on their post. When you're finished head to 7 Kids' Instagram account and leave a comment on their post that you completed the Hop! You have until 2pm MTN on Wednesday Feb 19th to comment. One random winner will win a $20 gift card to the store!
All of the cards today are featuring the new Puppy Love digi release from Sweet November so I figured this was the perfect time to share one that I colored during the release Lives at the beginning of the month. This darling duo is Coco and Pebble and I colored them heading off to the dog park for a fun filled day. So many great suggestions came in during the Live, like the camo print and adding a little coat to the pup... it's those interactions that really make doing the Lives so much fun. :)
Alrighty, I'll have a full list of the hop participants up on my Instagram @amyyoungforever in a few hours when the hop starts. Have fun and good luck!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Copic X-Press It
digital stamp- Sweet November (Coco and Pebble)

ink- Versafine onyx black
My Favorite Things A2 stitched rectangle stax set 1
Sharpie extra fine white pen

Once again I grabbed the adorable Happy Easter set and paired up the two gals with the Peeps bunny and chick marshmallow treats. I stamped a few extra Peeps above them and colored in a kitchen counter for them to sit on. All the colors I used were pulled from the playful Doodlebug papers so the entire card coordinated. A few fun embellishments and this sweet Easter card was done!

Hello Spring...
Hi friends!
We've made it to the last day of the February previews for The Greeting Farm and we are wrapping things up with a new oversized sentiment die. Marie's beautiful script handwriting is showcased in the new 'Hello Spring' die, perfect for our card making as we shift into a sunnier season. I colored the die cut sentiment in ombre blues then surrounded it with mini fairies from the Fairy Happy set and flowers from the new Flower Field set. As an extra little finishing touch I grabbed some clear Nuvo and piped on a bunch of little rain drops because as we all know, spring showers bring the flowers. ;)
Now hop on over to the TGF blog to see all the fab cards from my fellow Farmers using the new Hello Spring die. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase tomorrow, the 15th, with a small blog hop to celebrate!

You're fintastic...
Hi friends!
Here we are at day two of the Greeting Farm's February release and we are introducing a gorgeous new mermaid named Jellia. When I first laid eyes on Jellia I pictured her as laying back on the sandy sea bottom letting the gentle waves rock her to sleep. To help fill out that scene I grabbed starfish from both the Happy to Sea You set and the Little Mermaids set. The sentiment comes with Maisea mermaid and as a final finishing touch I added the silhouettes of some fish swimming above her along with their corresponding cast shadows.
Now hop on over to the TGF blog to see all the mermazing cards from my fellow Farmers using the new Jellia. Then check back tomorrow as we continue the sneak peek fun. :)

Bloom where you are planted...
Hey there!
February release previews start today at The Greeting Farm! Once again we have three new stamp sets and a large sentiment die being introduced to the store on the Saturday the 15th. Today we have a beautiful set of wild flowers called, Flower Field, to share. The set includes a number of different blossoms and flowers and various foliage in a bunch of different sizes so that you can mix and match them into beautiful overgrown gardens for your TGF characters. I pulled out the classic Fleur Anya to go with and I gotta say, it feels like they were made to go together. Just more confirmation as to why I hoard all my older stamps, LOL... you never know when a new set is going to give an old stamp a second life!
Be sure to head on over to the TGF blog for more floral goodness from my fellow Farmers using the new Flower Field set. Then check back tomorrow as we continue with day two of previews.

You're mine...
Good morning!
So this is gonna be my last Valentine of the year because starting tomorrow it's all Greeting Farm previews for the rest of the week. I actually made this card for the recent Stamping Bella release and this is the first Oddball that I've ever colored up. Their quirky, deadpan expressions have always cracked me up but it wasn't until I watched this Oddball Cupid come to life under my markers that I was completely won over by their charm. I had a lot of fun playing up the softness and sweetness of a traditional Valentine's Day card with the dreamy cloud background and the blonde hair and white tunic that we are used to seeing on most cupid. But then I gave it all an Oddball twist with the heavy black Doc Marten boots and a combination of sentiments that starts off all lovely dovey then takes a turn into something a bit more demanding, LOL! Needless to say, I've added a few more of her sisters to my collection since the release and I can't wait to see what kind of mischief I can get them into as well. ;)

Love is all you need...
Hello, hello!
Are you ready for another Stamping Bella Scenic Saturday card? With Valentine's Day less than a week away I really wanted to ink up the new Teeny Tiny Townie Love stamp from the latest release... I mean seriously, how could I not? Sure, love in all its forms should be celebrated year long but I don't think it is a bad thing to take a day and really focus on this crazy feeling that completely feeds the soul, whether it is for pets, partners, friends or family, the more love you give the more you receive.
These cuties are so exuberant and joyful as they parade across the card, spreading the love, that I was inspired to try and capture that parade feeling. And sometimes that means setting aside the markers and grabbing the stencils and inks instead. So I masked off each of the girls as well as the bottom third of the card that I wanted to remain white and started to add falling confetti to the background using some pink and red inks. Once that was on I pulled away the mask at the bottom of the card and grabbed a black multiliner pen to draw in the faux striped washi tape behind them.
Now you know me, I couldn't finish this card without some kind of coloring challenge so I decided to try and make the letters they are holding look like shiny Mylar balloons. Once again Google is my best friend and I was able to find photos of balloon letters that gave me a type of pattern to follow in order to create that illusion of very shiny material. I used three reds, R43, R46 and R89 along with W10 because I was using a warmer color combo. But you can achieve the same look in any color by simply grabbing a light, medium and very dark marker combo, though I recommend grabbing a C10 or N10 if you are working with cooler colors. Once the marker colors are done the real magic comes when you add in the white highlights either with a gel pen or I used the Copic opaque paint. It was a fun challenge to do and totally becomes the focal point that I wanted it to be.
Smooches!
