TGIF!
I recently found a new to me stamp company while cruising Instagram and I couldn't wait to place my first order with them. They are called Hello Bluebird and they have all sorts of super cute sets just made for scene building fun! This Fishin' Hole set was one of the first sets to catch my eye so it had to be the first one I inked up and got on a card. I really enjoy the challenge of stamping and masking the various little accessory stamps into different and creative scenes... almost as much as I enjoy coloring them. I actually ended up grabbing the Puddle Play and Rainy Day sets for this scene too because I wanted to give mama duck a couple of ducklings. I just had to wipe away their feet before stamping and I was good to go! Yup, I think I'll be keeping my eye on Hello Bluebird because this card was all sorts of fun to create!
Alrighty well BIG things are happening this weekend so I hope you find some time to stop by and check it out! :)

Pumpkin Spice and everything nice...
Hi there!
It's my day to share a card over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page and even though we are still technically in August it definitely feels like we have made the turn into Autumn already and I am loving it! Nights and morning are cooler, leaves are starting to change here and there and Pumpkin Spice everything can be found in stores and shops every where, LOL! This had me grabbing out the new Fall Break paper kit that I recently got for inspiration. All of the prints in this collection are just gorgeous but my absolute favorites are the scene strips and cut apart pages that provide tons of cool fall scene backgrounds super quickly. I particularly liked this scene with the bicycle and decided to grab my binder of Deep Red City Girl stamps to see if any of them would work with it. Wouldn't you know I found the perfect cold weather cutie in the Winter Time set. I love that by simply choosing Copic colors inspired by the paper she works just as well for a Fall themed card as a Winter one. All I had to do was fussy cut her out and pop her right on top of that great pre-printed scene and this card was practically done! :)
Ok, our current "Back to School" challenge just got under way so there is plenty of time to get inky and join the fun. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and the store is getting new seasonal goodies every day!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Catherine Pooler
paper- Carta Bella (Fall Break)
stamps- Deep Red (City Girls Winter Time set), Hello Bluebird (sentiment)
ink- Memento tuxedo black and Papertrey Ink terra cotta tile

The whole night sky...
Hey there!
It's been way too long since I've colored up one of the many Tiddly Inks images in my stamping stash so I had to do something about that. It was a hard choice narrowing down who would make it on a card for today but since Wryn has always been a favorite, this sweet image quickly became the winner. The digital stamp is called, Wish Upon a Star, and right away it tells a story to me which is a huge factor in how I find myself drawn to certain stamps over others. Right away I could just picture these two laying out under a vast, starry sky with a lake and trees in the distance. So I grabbed my markers and set about to turn that idea into an actual card. Because the current Tiddly Inks challenge is Clean and Simple I decided to keep the color palette paired down as well. Then all I had to do was find the perfect sentiment and this card was done, can't you hear the crickets chirping in the distance? I gotta say it felt really good to get my Tiddly Inks on again, LOL! :)
Later gators!

Happy Birthday...
Hello!
It's my day to post over at the Greeting Farm blog and I've had this lone little foxy girl from the Foxy Fun set sitting on my desk uncolored since the July release. All the others had made it onto cards and she was really wanting to join them in fulfilling her stampy destiny. So I figured now was a great time to finally get her on a card. Since we are currently smack dab in the midst of county fair season I was inspired to pair her up with the Ferris wheel from the Best Day Ever set and a few other stamps from my stash to create a fun-filled birthday card. It's actually a pretty clean and simple design but I think the energy and excitement of a birthday celebration is still conveyed. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day!

Hello fall...
Good morning!
So I've been playing along in the latest 12 Days of coloring challenge over in the Some Odd Girl Facebook group for the past week and as we near the end of it I really wanted to get one of my colored images onto an actual card. Kristy is so cool and always treats participants to a special sale sometime during the challenge and I picked up this fun guy in my recent purchase. Leaf Rider Tobie has been on my digi wish list since he was first released, the joy and excitement in his face just can't be beat! And I just love the visual of a fairy hopping on a falling leaf and going along for the ride. Perhaps it's the changing of the season, with the arrival of cooler nights and shorter days, that had me thinking of fall leaves turning and dropping to the ground when I went to print Tobie out. I always associate that image with multiple leaves floating through the air so of course my mind went to creating a whole brigade of leaf flying fairies. I took advantage of the png files and did some digi merging, shrinking each one down to make them look further and further in the distance. And when I went to color them, I didn't worry about the colors being as distinct and shaded on the two in the back in comparison to the leader and focal point. you will also notice that I took some creative license and colored in some long flowing locks on that last fairy, easily turning her into a girl. Talk about a fun card, this one was a blast to create! ;)
Alrighty friends, I hope you follow me on social media because I've got some big news to start teasing y'all with starting tomorrow and you won't want to miss it!
Ta ta for now!

Together is my favorite place to be...
Howdy folks!
This past week Simon Says finally shared their Greeting Farm #CoupleGoals feature on their blog so I can now share the card I made for that post. These two lovebirds were actually the first from the set to catch my eye and spark an idea upon getting the stamp set. Probably because I have been waiting 9 years, ever since the Design a Sprout contest, for a TGF stamp showing a couple hand in hand like this. Immediately I envisioned these two laughing and running down a park path on their way to some wonderful adventure together. So I stamped them up and used my Copic markers to color the scene in around them. Once that was done, I trimmed the image down a bit to fit on the front of an A2 sized card and found a scrap of pretty yellow paper that coordinated nicely and helps to anchor the image. Because there is a lot going on up above I wanted to keep the lower half of the card clean and simple with only the addition of a subtle sentiment and a sprinkling of little yellow flowers. The resulting card tells the story I wanted it to while still looking fresh and fun! :)
Laters!

Happy Trails...
Hey there!
As I mentioned yesterday, all the extra cards I've been making during The Greeting Farm releases are starting to pile up on me. I've been trying to slip them in here and there but at this rate I don't think I would get them all posted on the ol' blog before the end of the year. To try and remedy that situation and still leave some regular posting days for non DT cards, I've decided to use the weekends to get caught up. So here I am with one that I made back in May using the S'more Fun set. These cute little campers come with everything you need to make fun outdoorsy themed cards. I wanted to keep this design clean and simple and I like how the circle dies keep everything nice and contained. :)
Ok then, hope your weekend is a crafty one!

No better friend...
TGIF!
Dreamerland Crafts released their second round of new stamps for 2018 last month and there are so many cute new kiddos to create with. For my card today I paired up the new True Friendship girls with the Mix and Match Mailbox and Wall set. I love the Mix and Match line of clear stamps because they make building a background so quick and easy. By adding the birdhouse behind the girls you get the sense that they are playing together in a back yard, giggling and laughing and enjoying each other's company. I also borrowed the little kitty from the So Much to be Joyful About set because kittens just make everything better if you ask me. ;)
Alrighty then, normally I take a break from posting on the weekends but I've got quite a large back log of cards that haven't made it up here yet so I will be posting tomorrow. Hope to see you then!

Just as you are...
Olo!
So not too long ago there was a sale over at CC Designs and I finally added Aphrodite Twila to my stamp collection after having had her on my wish list forever. She happened to still be sitting on my desk when I got my hands on the super cute Dragons set a couple weeks later and even though my initial plan was to pair the dragons with the little viking kids, as soon as I saw these two I knew that I wanted to pair them up into a magical scene. So I wiped the bird on her hand away before stamping, masked off Aphrodite, then stamped on this sweet baby dragon. I absolutely love the interaction between these two. Then when I saw that the current challenge over in the CC Designs Facebook group is to "create a scene" well, you know I just had to give that a go! So I grabbed my Copics and colored in a peaceful valley meadow for these cuties to live in. Because there is so much going on in the scene I decided to just stamp on a sentiment from the Mama Elephant Dragon Wishes set and call it done. I gotta tell ya, I love, love, love how this card came together!
Toodles!

Simple joys of the season...
Hello again!
On Monday I shared my card using the fabulous Uptown Zodiac Girl Leo in all her star sign glory, now it is time to see how a few small tweaks can really open up the versatility of these stamps. Just like last month I have ended up with a very different version of the stamp but it didn't require too much altering at all. All I had to do was wipe away her lion ears before stamping and fill in the little bits of missing hair with a black pen. Now she is simply a chic lady draped in her amazing (faux) fur coat. With that kind of outer wear how could I not do a Christmas card? So I masked Leo off and stamped the Winter backdrop behind her twice, creating a peaceful winter scene in the distance that was really quick and easy both to create and to color. I kept most of the color in the background light and cool so that her red tights and golden hair would really stand out. I love how this turned out and I can't believe that I've actually gotten a Christmas card done in August, LOL! ;)
Thanks for stopping by!

Back to school note card set...
Hey there!
Here we are at the 21st of the month and that means it is time for a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. The theme for the next two weeks is "Back to School" and there are so many different ways you can take this. Whether it is a gift card for a great teacher, a scrapbook layout of your kiddo starting a new grade or a fun card, it's all up to you! When it came time to create for this challenge I found myself lacking any stamp that was specifically school themed but I did spot this new Better Together stamp set by Beth Duff Designs so I went in a different direction. Rather than create with school themed product I decided to make a set of small but encouraging note cards for a student. They would be fun to tuck into a sack lunch or back pack as a nice surprise to make someone smile. So even though the stamp set comes with some great pun sentiments I typed up a few of my own to make them work with idea I was running with. Then I paired them up with the perfect papers from the Doodlebug So Much Pun pad... talk about a match made in punny heaven. The white stitching was added with my favorite extra fine white Sharpie for a cute finishing touch. ;)
Ok, now it's your turn to create something for our "BACK TO SCHOOL" challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store to be won!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Catherine Pooler

Make a wish...
Good morning!
So I am squeaking this latest installment of my personal challenge to create birthday cards for each of the Stamping Bella Zodiac Girls in under the wire. We are at the tail end of the dates for Leo but I technically got this done and mailed off to my sweet friend, Kelly, last week. So here she is in all her fire sign fabulousness, Leo is the sign of the Lion and she is enthusiastic, powerful, creative, generous and extravagant. She can also be dogmatic and fixed in opinion. Her signature colors are orange and gold, the magnetic colors of the sun. Because Miss Leo looks so chic in her fab, fur coat I wanted to put her in a mod, city scene. So I grabbed this City Scene stencil from Altenew and some Distress Inks in various shades of orange to create that skyline. Again, the sentiment is a mix of stamps with the top being from the Papertrey Ink Stargazer sets and the description is included with Leo herself.
Now tomorrow I will be sharing the newest 7 Kids challenge but I will be back on Wednesday with the altered version of Leo and you won't want to miss that! ;)

Unstoppable note card set...
TGIF crafty friends!
It's my turn to share some inspiration on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page and I've got not one but three cards today. If you haven't noticed yet I'm a sucker for clever and or unique sentiments for my cards so when I saw the new Unstoppable set from Beth Duff Designs in the store I just had to have it. Not only are the illustrations super pretty but I love the empowering and uplifting messages that go along with them. They are what actually inspired me to make a matching, clean and simple note card set. Even though I colored each gal into three very different scenes I think the colorful skies and long, impressionistic strokes of my marker tie them together. That and I used the same handful of gold washi tapes for a simple embellishment along with wood veneer shapes and some gold color shine droplets on all three cards. I really love the quiet, introspective mood of these. :)
Ok, there is still a few days to get something made for the current "DOG DAYS" challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and there are so many fun seasonal items starting to come in that you won't want to miss!

You are a flamingo...
Hello, hello!
I'm back with a third guest post for the brand new stamp company, Witt & Sass! This week the featured stamp set is Tropical Party and it features a fabulous Carmen Miranda-esque flamingo. I also added in the Background Builder Palm Tree a couple times to jazz up the background scene that I colored in behind her. I had a vision of this fab flamingo wading in tropical waters at sunset and did my best to create the light and flair of that time of day in the scene. It was a challenge to get that glow that I was after but I really love how she turned out.
Now if you head on over to the official Witt & Sass blog there is loads more inspiration to be found. Amy has put together an amazing team of card artists who constantly "tropic like it's hot"! And if you haven't joined the Witt & Sass Facebook group yet, you can find it here. :)
Have a crafty day!

For my card today I had a lot of fun mixing stamps from the Feels, Feels 2 and My Kitchen stamp sets. The sentiment from the My Kitchen set actually inspired this entire scene and totally makes me chuckle. Originally the words are stacked but the nice thing about clear stamps is that I can cut them apart and rearrange them to work within the deign I have in mind. So I wanted to create a kind of comic strip look showing this poor girl getting all bleh and hangry before finding her happy again in the kitchen. The girls from the first and third panel are both from the Feels 2 set while the hangry gal in the second panel is from the original Feels set. I did alter her slightly to wipe away her pigtails and draw in long hair matching the other two so they all three read as the same character from panel to panel. Then to finish off the card I thought it would be funny to add some splatters of "ketchup" and "mustard" to hint at her mad feeding frenzy, LOL! ;)
Ok then, have fun on the hop!
