this calls for cake & ice cream...

Mornin' friends!

How much fun is this Bowl Of digi stamp from Mo's? The original image has this little sneak thief holding an empty bowl and there are several different things for you to fill it with. For this birthday card she needed to be absconding with a giant mint chip and hot fudge ice cream sundae. Hey... birthday girls are allowed to be a bit selfish and overindulgent on the big day, right? LOL she sure seems to think so any way, just look at her run! I kept the card clean and simple with a sprinkling of enamel dots to mimic drops of hot fudge flying off that sundae. I gotta say that this little gal totally makes me smile. :)

The seeds that you plant...

Hello, hello!

I have some exciting news to share today... I've been invited to be a guest designer for Whimsy Stamps the next two months! They have many, many cute character stamps that I have so much coloring and creating with and I am thrilled to join the fun. I'm kicking things off a bit early with this adorable little country girl stamp called Farmer's Market. Seeing those apples in her basket I knew that I wanted to give her an orchard to live in so I grabbed this Rolling Hills background and drew in the trees up at the top of the hill. I can't even tell you how much this card feels like home to me. Even though our apple orchards may be outnumbered by vineyards these days I still feel like I live in the heart of apple country. This little Farmer could be strolling right down the road from me. LOL

And I know it's short notice but if you haven't seen that Whimsy is currently having a Design Team call there is still one more day to get your application in. I can tell you just from a guest perspective that they are wonderful to work with and super generous. So if you've been on the fence at all, don't be! :)

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my joy today!

Great purpose in your heart...

Hi there!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. I've inked up a new-to-me stamp company called Dreamerland Crafts today and I mean come on... how cute is this guy?! The set is called So Much to be Joyful About and it comes with a handful of different images that can be masked into that box he is carrying. I couldn't resist giving him a box full of puppies and as I was coloring them up I could imagine this sweet boy taking the pups to meet their new fur-ever families. Thus the farm house scene in the distance just kinda sprang from that. So yea, I got a little carried away with the coloring because by the time I was done all I needed to do was add a sentiment and glue it to a card base.  :)

Alrighty, there is still a little over a week to play along in the August 'anything goes' challenge so head on over to the 7 Kids blog and play along! Also Kelly is running a special sale now through September 4th. Use the code Texas to get 15% off your entire order and 30% of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross in aid of the Hurricane Harvey victims.

Superhero in disguise...

Good morning!

I have been on the run all weekend and I can't wait for my day off tomorrow. I had plans to color a much more involved image for today's card but just didn't have the time to tackle it. So instead I grabbed this tiny cutie from the Little Heroes set from TGF that I had previously stamped up. I love the little masks that are included in the set because with a little stamp masking I could easily give this super girl open eyes just by adding that mask. I paired her up with this cool Time Warp stamp from Neat and Tangled which really pulls focus right to her in a very cool way. So there you have it, another simple and quick card done on the fly... hope you like it!

Later gators!

One of the sweetest people around...

TGIF!

I'm ending the week with a card that I've made for today's Bellarific Challenge which is a photo/color inspiration. The photo showed a rainbow of bright, happy colors so I grabbed Tiny Townie Sammy is Sweet to make a colorful birthday card. Once she was colored up I masked her off and stamped the streamers behind her. I don't know why the red ones are reading as more of a pink in this photo but in real life they are a better match to her dress. Alrighty friends, I've got to run... got a busy weekend ahead of me.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun!

Welcome little one...

Olo!

My cousin is expecting her first child in a couple months and I wanted to make a special card to go with her baby shower gift. Because they are already calling the new little guy their bear, I grabbed the Birthday Bears set and hopped on over to the MFT challenge blog to see what the new sketch was. It was definitely something I could work with, I just had to scoot the domed image piece to the left so that mama bear wasn't staring off the side of the card. I stamped mama and cub in desert sand ink so I could practice doing animal stamps in no-line and I fell like I've still got a lot of practice ahead of me to really nail the look but they will do. Next I decided to color in a mountainside of fall trees behind them since her baby is due in October. I'm pretty happy with it and I think it will put a smile on my cousin's face, which is all that really matters. :)

Always here for you...

Hey there!

Yesterday I was super busy and I didn't end up with a lot of time in the crafty room. With only half an hour to put a card together I was glad to have just gotten this Cat's Meow stamp set. I actually got it for the main image which is a large group of kitties all crowded together but this single peeking kitty totally caught my eye and stole my heart. So for a quick card with minimal coloring this little guy was the way to go. I wanted him to peek out a window with a fun mix of sentiment elements beneath. Clean and simple all the way. :)

Alrighty, I'm outta here. Have a good one!

You shore are sweet...

Hello crafty friends!

It's time for my Tuesday 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card. With summer quickly drawing to a close I wanted to get another one of the brand new Gorjuss Girl stamps on a card. This bathing beauty is called Summer Days and the original image includes an umbrella lying next to her but I wiped it away before stamping. I love the bird's eye view of this image and how we are looking down at her as she daydreams on the beach. I know I said it before but the large size of these new Gorjuss Girls is so awesome for when you just want to sit and color. This card is an A2 and she totally fills the space, leaving just enough room for a sentiment and a few little embellishments. I couldn't resist adding just a hint of the sea down in the corner to help give her a sense of place and I think it works... can't you smell that salty sea air? ;)

Now don't forget the monthly challenge over on the 7 Kids blog, there is still plenty of time to get creative. As always, Kelly has an awesome $20 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner!

You brighten my life...

Good morning!

I got the Oliver and Amelia Summer Fun set during the last TGF Farmer's Market and I have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to get this cutie on a card. When the 'make a scene' challenge was announced at the beginning of the month this idea started swirling around in my brain and I finally put it all together. First I stamped up the lighthouse and a bunch of the fun accessory stamps from the Avery Elle Shine Bright set to create the background. I really challenged myself to try and create some sandy dunes and crashing waves along with the cloudy sky. Next I colored up Amelia, cut her out and popped her onto the background. I know she is meant to be giggling but I have to chuckle because with my kinda stormy looking background she may be standing there shivering instead. Something tells me she won't be jumping in the water anytime soon, LOL!

Fairy Happy Birthday...

TGIF!

I've made a card for the current 'anything goes' challenge over on the Whimsy blog. This gorgeous Lil Flower Fairy was calling me and I decided to use the no-line coloring technique on her. I played with different color combos for her hair and dress and I love the periwinkle shade that I got on her lovely tresses. I wanted it to look like she was fluttering amongst the clouds so I masked her off, grabbed a cloud border stencil and two different ink colors and sponged on the background. It really adds a dreamy quality to the overall design. Then I finished it all off with some sequins and Wink of Stella glitter pen to add a bit of sparkle and magic.

Ok then, have a crafty weekend my friends and I shall talk at'cha later!  :)

So many reasons...

Olo!

As I was deciding what stamp to ink up yesterday my eye ran across the Sugar Nellie binder and after experiencing a twinge of sadness that they are no more, it felt like the perfect time to revisit their super sweet range of fairy stamps. This beauty is called Angelica and I'm ashamed to admit that this is the first time that I've gotten her on a card. I wanted the whole scene to be soft and dreamy, kinda like the early mornings this time of year as we start transitioning into cooler fall temperatures. With her blue and purple dress I imagine Angelica as a night fairy who got caught by the sunrise and now it's time for her to fly back to her secret hidee-hole until the evening returns. :)

Thanks for stop by today!

Celebrate...

Hello, hello!

Over the past twelve months I have been working my way through the Baker's Dozen cupcake set from Papertrey Ink and here I am with August's... the last one! I went with a sunshine and waves color scheme for a beachy, fun summer birthday card. To do that I masked off the cupcake so I could stencil the sun rays behind, then I framed it all in and popped it on the card base. To add a bit more yellow to the design I first stamped some Script Swirl Birthday sentiments to the card base which I think adds to the overall theme in a cool way. I gotta say, it feels real good to see this project through all the way through... yeah!

Later gators!  :)

A little love song...

Howdy folks!

It's time for my weekly Tuesday post for 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store. During the month of August the 7 Kids design team is being sponsored by Cas-ual Fridays and Vilda Stamps. Because they made for such a perfect pairing once before I am revisiting the Heartbeats stamp set from Cas-ual Fridays and the second cutie from the Greeting Farm Our Song set. This time around I went with a more vibrant and upbeat color scheme using Distress Inks to add pink to the background. This little musician looked to me like a quirky indie rocker so I gave her a pretty pink streak in her hair to match. Next I second generation stamped the music notes onto the journaling card so they would be light enough to stamp the wonderful sentiment right over top. Then all I had to do to finish the card was add her to the bottom and affix the whole thing to the card front.  :)

Last week saw the start of a brand new 'anything goes' challenge so there is plenty of time to head on over to the 7 Kids blog and play along! You will love all of the great new product hitting the shelves and that $20 gift certificate prize could really help fill a shopping cart!

You're crushing it...

Good morning!

I think this sassy Rockabilly chick is all sorts of wonderful. She's part of the Roberto's Rascals Rockabilly Girls set and while I love all four of the cuties included, this one just had to go on a card first. She has so much attitude and self confidence, something which I think we can all use more of. I paired her up with some old October Afternoon papers that I found in my stash and colored her up to match. Something about the aqua and red color combo seems very retro to me. All in all, it looks like she is totally working it!

Ok, I've got an early start to work this morning so it's time for me to head out the door. Laters!

Have a nice day...

TGIF!

I didn't have a lot of time to get creative yesterday so it was the perfect time to grab this Anya from the Sunny kit that I had colored up last week and get her on a quick card. The cute neighborhood papers are from the BoBunny Weekend Adventures 6x6 pad which inspired the colors of her outfit as well. When I spotted the little ice cream truck in the background I borrowed the popsicle from For You Anya to give this Anya a sweet treat. The sentiment is another TGF stamp, this time from the Main Street set. I love how they all came together so effortlessly. :)

Well I should get going, have fun this weekend!

Beautiful you...

Olo!

I've got a quick card to share today featuring this sweet digi from Mo's Digital Pencil. She's called Thank You, Thank You and she certainly seems to be quite proud of her fancy look. I paired her up with this little rosebud print and colored her up to match. I don't know why the colors in my photo are so off but the colors are much more similar in person. Maybe it's all the white space but I love the airy, lightness that it lends to the overall design. Sometimes you just got to make a pretty card for a pretty girl. :)

Ok, it's back to work I go. Have a good one!

A little note to say...

Hey there!

It's the second Wednesday of the new month and that means it's time for the August 'anything goes' challenge over on the 7 Kids challenge blog. Playing along is easy, all you have to do is use at least one product that can be found in the 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store and link back to the challenge blog in your own post, which gives you a chance at winning a $20 gift certificate at the end of the month... who doesn't love that?

The 7 Kids DT is being sponsored by Cas-ual Fridays and Vilda Stamps this month so for my challenge inspiration card I inked up the Pretty Posies from Cas-ual Fridays in Memento angel pink so that I could do some soft and pretty no-line coloring. I stamped a variety of blossoms and leaves around the bottom and side of the card front, masking as I went so they would overlap in a natural way. That left me with a lot of open space that I knew I wanted to fill with some kind of happy character that would fit with the sentiment I was using. As I searched through my stash of stamps, none were fitting in the way I imagined. Bummed but undeterred I decided to get brave and use my Copics to sketch in the fairy I knew was living in this magical garden. It was nerve wracking after having put in all that time coloring already, I really didn't want to mess it all up! Luckily she came to life fairly quickly and I was able to breath a sigh of relief. I don't stamp and color flowers very often but these Pretty Posies set such a lovely scene that I can see myself playing with more on future cards.  :)

Alrighty, I hope to see some of my crafty friends joining the fun with me this month over at 7 Kids!   :)

Put on a tutu and twirl...

Hi there!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. As I mentioned last week, during the month of August the 7 Kids DT is being sponsored by Cas-ual Fridays and Vilda Stamps. So today I have inked up this sweet ballerina and sentiment from the Cas-ual Fridays Tutu set. The stamp is actually more of a silhouette but by using desert sand ink she was light enough to color in details with my Copic markers. She brought to mind the character Margo from the Despicable Me movie, when the sisters are all dressed up for their ballet recital, so I ran with that idea. Now here she is, as we peek from back stage, watching her shine bright in the spotlight.    :)

Alrighty, well the July challenge just wrapped up but be sure to check out the 7 Kids blog tomorrow when August's challenge kicks off! So much good stuff has been hitting the store shelves and that $20 gift certificate that is up for grabs could really help to fill a shopping cart!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink

Let's taco 'bout how awesome you are...

Good morning!

So when I saw that this month's Farm Fresh Challenge is to 'make a scene' I was all over it! A couple month's ago I stumbled across this Tasty Truck Stampin' Up set on ebay and right away I knew I wanted to pair it up with some cute mega minis from TGF. The food truck comes with various treats to sell along with coordinating sentiments and I fell in love with the taco sentiment right away. Needless to say, these kiddos from the Best Day Ever set decided that it was a good day for tacos, LOL! Since I had some extra time to color I went ahead and colored in the entire background as well. I could just picture this food truck pulling up next to a park so I used my Copics to sketch in a nice, big shade tree and a picnic table to lunch at with a beautiful blue sky to complete the perfect day. :)

Alrighty friends, I'll catch ya again tomorrow!

Find your paradise...

TGIF!

It's another Bellarific Friday card for me today. This time around I inked up Tiny Townie Frances Loves to Float and wiped away the watermelon slice from her hand before stamping and replaced it with the sunglasses from the set. As fun and fancy as Frances is looking I knew floating in a pool wouldn't be good enough for her so instead I grabbed the Paradise Palms stamp set from Newton's Nook and set the scene for her to be relaxing in the warm ocean waters off some tropical island. Hopefully the current is carrying her back towards land rather farther out to sea, LOL! Alrighty, like I said, this card is my entry into this week's Free Form Bellarific challenge and now it's time for me to get ready for work.

Have a great weekend everybody!  :)
