Happy Halloween!
Boo to you! And you and you and you! ;)
The forecast is calling for rain all day tomorrow but I doubt that puts much of a damper on all the little trick or treaters who will be hitting town in search of candy this year. Luckily for me I will be inside with the candy, LOL!
I saved this witchy duo from A Day for Daisies for my final Halloween card of the year because I totally adore them. The digi is called First Flight and it so looks like these little witches are just waiting for that right moment to mount those brooms and take off into the night sky. The card is all one single scene that I created with masking and stamping... all except the little bat die cuts that I did add at the end.
Alrighty friends, have a spook-tacular weekend! :)

Happy Halloween...
Hi there!
This magical mistress of the night is the Wild Sprout from the TGF Spooky set. Originally she has just the super slicked back hair but I felt like giving her some extra long locks. It was really easy, all I did was draw in a few lines behind her and colored 'em in. Once I had her all colored up something about her gown had me seeing her as Arachne, Queen of the spiders so I grabbed this cool stitched spider web die and used it all around the edge of the white cardstock. Then I found some fun spider stamps to keep Arachne company. The sentiment is an old Heidi Grace stamp that is great because it gave me the chance to color it any way I wanted.
Alrighty, one more Halloween card to go... see ya back here manana! :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It

Trick or treat...
Hello, hello!
I came across this Annabel the Witch stamp while cleaning out some drawers in my crafty room this summer and I was determined that she wouldn't go one more Halloween without getting on a card. The original image has Annabel holding a plate with a slice of cake and a fork in her mouth but I didn't know how I could make that work so I did a bit of altering. All I did was wipe away the cake and fork then drew in a slip of paper instead. I like to imagine now that she is taking a break from mopping to study a new spell. And I couldn't resist giving her a little pal who I'm sure is trying to keep Annabel on task but to no avail... LOL! :)
Ok, I've got a long road trip ahead of me today so I should get myself ready. Take care everybody!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It

Something wicked...
Good morning!
Sure there is a whole stack of Halloween images sitting on my desk vying to get on a card this year. And sure, Mizuki here isn't technically a Halloween image but with those skulls on her belt and the way her kimono turns to swirling mist at the hem I always saw her as some kind of sorceress. So in my mind she has always been perfect for a funky Halloween card and now was the time to get it done. I wanted everything about Mizuki to look magical so I played around with a black to white ombre effect on her kimono and also went for a two toned hair-do as well. It doesn't show up well in the photo but her gown is covered in sparkles just like the bats flying in the night sky behind her. Yep, there is definitely something quite magical about Mizuki. :)
Later gators!

All your witches...
Hi guys!
Well this week I feel like I am already ten steps behind. My schedule is so hectic and I feel like I already need a breather... LOL! I didn't have much time for crafting yesterday so I needed a quick image to color up. My Moon from ADFD was sitting on my desk and she was perfect. This image is so simple yet so elegant, if it wasn't for the pops of orange in the ribbons she is practically done in blacks and whites. And I had this old scrap of paper that I have been hanging on to for years which finally found a home and I couldn't be happier with how it sets the scene for Moon. It truly looks like it is a magical night. :)
Alrighty, I'm outta here. Catch ya on the flip side!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It
paper- Creative Imaginations
digital stamp- A Day for Daisies (My Moon)

May luck be yours...
TGIF my friends!
I'm keeping today's post short and sweet because I'm running to town this morning and I've got lots to do before I go. This digi stamp called Little Pumpkin Witch captured my heart as soon as I saw it in the ADFD store. There is something kinda vintage looking about this little guy which I really love. I paired him up with another great sentiment from the Superstition set from Papertrey Ink and since I had a gleaming pumpkin I figured the scene needed a black cat as well. So I grabbed a pen and sketched a kitty in my best imitation of the ADFD style, I really like how they are looking at each other now. A sprinkling of wood veneer stars and another Halloween card was done. :)
Hope you have a fun and crafty weekend! See ya on Monday!

A little hello-ween...
Hi-ya!
I've got another card for another challenge to share with you today. This one is for the 'black, orange and purple' challenge over at The Greeting Farm blog. I've had these adorable Monster Beans from the Spooky set inked and ready to go so I decided to color up three, one in each of the challenge colors. Next these little trick or treaters needed a street to walk down so I found the perfect scrap of night sky paper and a glittered up fence sticker, both from Doodlebug, to create a home for them. They all look so happy and proud of their scary Halloween costumes. ;)
Okey dokey, that's all I got... thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again tomorrow! :)

There is mischief brewing...
Hi there!
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is hosting a Halloween challenge this week so of course I had to play along. The only hard part was deciding on a stamp to use because I still have a handful in my stash that haven't made it on a card yet. Ultimately I settled on Magical Mathilda because I could totally envision the scene she would live in. I wanted Mathilda to be practicing her magic in some stately manor room and the papers from the new Pebbles Boo collection were perfect for achieving that look. Doesn't that skull print look like some kind of spooky damask wallpaper? Love it. Of course I pulled all my Copic colors from the paper and I even grabbed a couple of fluorescent Copics which hardly ever get used but man did they create the most perfect mystical glow around her, I wish you could see this one in person.
Ok friends, I've got a busy day ahead of me so it's time to sign off. Laters! :)

Halloween Wishes
Hello, hello!
Wow, I was just looking at the calendar and after this post I only have eight more Halloween cards to make before the big day hits. Where did the month go?! Seriously, I know I have more than eight images waiting in the wings so this makes the choosing that much more difficult. Decisions, decisions... luckily for Hazel here she doesn't have to worry about getting on a card this year because her stampy destiny has been fulfilled, LOL! This Whimsy Stamps cutie looks a bit frazzled, like she has had a long Halloween night riding on that broom of hers. Now she has made it back home and all Hazel wants to do is take a nap. The papers I pulled are a mix of new and old and all of the colors in Hazel's outfit come from that great stripe pattern and I am so happy with how close I got to matching it.
Ok, that is all I've got for today kiddos. Have a fabulous day! :)

Fallin' for you...
Good morning!
I got this super sweet new Pure Innocence cutie in the mail last week called Thankful Friend, and I really wanted to get her on a card. So before I got started I decided to check out the MFT challenge blog to see if there was anything to play along in. This week's sketch totally caught my eye and provided my with just the inspiration I needed to put this card together. I found this super old scrap of paper in my stash that had a soft watercolor look to it so I tried to keep my Copic color palette soft too. I also pulled out a bunch of dies too which is always great. I have quite a few at this point and I always feel like I don't utilize them as much as I should.
Alrighty, time for me to get a move on. Talk at'cha later! :)

Boo to you...
TGIF everybody!
Now don't panic... yes you are at the A Thousand Sheets blog even though it may not look like the kind of card you expect to find here. I admit, it is a rare occurrence for me not to have a character image as the star of the show but I didn't have a lot of time for coloring yesterday so I figured this was a good time to play with a stamp set that only needed ink. I've had the Twig Wreath set from Papertrey for a couple months now and I really wanted to make it work for a Halloween card. So I grabbed a bunch of Distress Inks in all the usual Halloween colors and went to town. This was a good start but I needed something more, that is when I had my 'a-ha!' moment... the Friendship Jar Fillers fall set. From that I could add a couple spiderwebs complete with spider and the pair of pumpkins so that I did get in just a bit of coloring. I gotta say that I'm really diggin' how this this one came together. ;)
Ok, time for me to run. See ya back here Monday and I promise there will be plenty of coloring and crafting back on the schedule. :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It
paper- My Mind's Eye (mischievous)
stamps- Papertrey Ink (Twig Wreath set, Friendship Jar fall set, Stitches)
ink- Memento tuxedo black, Versafine onyx black, Versamark watermark, Tim Holtz Distress black soot, seedless preserves, spiced marmalade, peeled paint, gathered twigs
Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel
May Arts ribbon
Kaiser Craft gems
Copic markers:
Y38, YR04, YR09, YR27, E84, E87

Happy Halloween...
Hi-dee-ho!
It sure is looking like this week is shaping up to be all about the kitties... LOL! Sister Stamps just had a new release at the beginning of the month and it is all about these super cute Peeker Pet stamps. There are bears, bunnies and puppies all of which are super adorable but I gotta admit that I was a bit bummed there where no peeker kitties in this release. Not just because I love my kitties but more so because they would be perfect for the Halloween cards that I am making right now. Once I got my order though and started stamping them up my altering inclinations could not be ignored. So I grabbed the two bunnies, Pixie and Dixie, wiped away the ears on both and Pixie's right paw before stamping. Then I drew in pointy kitty ears and a new leg that went to the ground as well as a tail for Pixie. Now those bunnies have been transformed into two black kitties ready to get into some serious mischief. :)
Okey dokie, time for me to scoot. Have a great day my friends! :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It
paper- Doodlebug (October 31st)
stamps- Sister Stamps (Pixie and Dixie), Studio G (happy)
ink- Versafine onyx black
Ranger glossy accents
Doodlebug epoxy stars
Copic markers:
kitties- N2, N5, N6, N7, N8, N9, R02

A little cat hair...
Hi there!
Well I am back in my comfort zone today with this cool spider web paper that I got recently. It just might be my favorite print that has been released this year and I've been anxious to get it on a card. But I needed just the right image to pair with it, something elegant and a bit more mature... that is where Cat Hat comes in to play. She's another gorgeous digi from A Day for Daisies and I love how her kitty has snuggled up right in the middle of her billowing up-do. Cat Hat was looking so elegant that I even gave her some bling in the form of some jeweled earrings. I also dusted off an old Martha Stewart border punch to make some black paper lace so that I could enter this card into the current 'add black lace' challenge over at the ADFD blog.
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It
paper- Authentique (Moonlit)
digital stamp- A Day for Daisies (Cat Hat)
stamp- Papertrey Ink (Superstitious set)
ink- Memento tuxedo black and Tim Holtz Distress hickory smoke
Martha Stewart border punch

lips- E04
eyeshadow- V25, V28, W3

Before I go, I had to share this photo of my sweet Sully because it fit the theme of today's post so well. This is pretty much where he was for the better part of creating this card and he didn't even want to wake up and move when it came time for me to get a pic. Sigh... Cat Hat knows that once a kitty finds a comfy spot there is nothing to do but let them sleep, LOL!

The moon laughs and whispers...
Good morning!
How about a little Tiddly Inks love today with this sweet kitty from the Set of Kittys? His crazy fuzzy fur totally reminds me of my crazy Smokey Joe so of course I had to turn him into a black cat for this Halloween card. This time around I grabbed the Halloween Scene stamp from CC Designs and did a bit of altering to make it fit the design I had in mind. I did that by stamping it three different times... once for the moon so that I could shift it to the left and twice to piece together a longer fence. I also got creative with inks and a stencil from Simon Says to lay the ground work for the entire scene... if I'm honest it took me three tries to finally get it right because I was having issues. As I was tossing attempt number two in the trash I was thinking why oh why didn't I just grab my beloved pattern paper? LOL! But when it all finally came together I was so proud of myself for having stepped outside my comfort zone and tried something new. :)
Later gators!

You're my boo...
Hello, hello!
Last week I had pulled out the classic Spooktacular set from TGF and made a card featuring little Pumpkin Head. As I was getting ready to put the stamps back in their binder I was inspired by a couple more of these Halloween cuties to make one more card with them this year. I stamped up Bride and Mummy then paired them up with this fun ghost paper from We R Memorykeepers. Sure the blue and black combo aren't traditional Halloween colors but I think it totally works with these two. My other inspiration was this sentiment that I got recently and really wanted to get on a card. I just think it is such a cute and clever twist turning it in to a Halloween greeting. My only embellishment is a few hand drawn spiderweb lines and the tiny spider from the Lawn Fawn Booyah set. Another simple card but I've kinda fallen in love with it, LOL!
Alrighty friends, time to get this week started. Have a good one! :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It
paper- October Afternoon (Farm Girl), We R Memorykeepers (Spookville), BoBunny (black double dot)
stamps- The Greeting Farm (Spooktacular set), Studio Calico (sentiment), Lawn Fawn (Booyah set)
ink- Memento tuxedo black
Lawn Fawn stitched scallop die
Copic markers:
skin- E000, E00, E11, R00, R20
hair- C5, C7, C9, B00, B99

Embrace your dark side...
TGIF!
It looks like I began the week with an ADFD Halloween card and here I am finishing the week with another one. This time around I printed out the gorgeous Bat Girl extra large so that she would make a big impact on my card. She has so much drama and mystery about her that I felt some pressure to do her justice. So papers were pulled and I love how the brown works on this Halloween card. I can imagine Bat Girl in her lair brewing up a potion or two, proving that you don't need a pointy hat to be a fabulous witch. What she did need was stylish eye makeup that glitters and glows like one of her magic elixirs and a posh purple coiffure. I'm so glad that I tackled a 'big head' again as I always love how they turn out. :)
Ok friends enjoy your weekend and I shall see you all again on Monday!

cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It

See their magic...
Hi there!
I'm shifting from Halloween to a more generic fall type card for today's post. This beauty is Silver Fairy from Whimsy stamps and I couldn't wait 'til spring before getting her on a card. So I paired her up with this vibrant fall colored paper by Basic Grey and even though she is called Silver Fairy on this card she is all about the gold. Looking at her arm and leg warmers I was inspired by the idea that it was bark peeled from a Paper Birch tree so that was the look I was attempting with my coloring. It's another simple card but that's not a bad thing at all. ;)
Ok, I've got to hurry up and get this day going.
Later gators!

Hey pumpkin...
Olo!
I didn't have a lot of time to get crafty and creative yesterday so I needed to find an image that would help me make a super quick card. That is when I remembered the absolutely spectacular Spooktacular set from The Greeting Farm sitting in my stash. I simply adore these little mini stamps and Pumpkin Head won the day to make it on this card. I stamped him directly on the kraft card base, partly because I wanted to speed up the creative process and partly because I wanted to play with a different look. I added the small treat bag from the Lawn Fawn Booyah set to his hand to help him gather candy during his night of trick or treating. The orange, black and purple color scheme came from the current Farm Fresh challenge which I am entering this card into. :)
Well thanks for stopping by.
I'll talk at'cha later!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill

Happy Haunting...
Hello again!
Normally when I get one of these cute Lawn Fawn sets it is with the intention of using them more as accessories or supporting cast on a card featuring one of my big character stamps. But when I got the newest Booyah and Happy Harvest sets this scene came together and it didn't need anything else but the addition of a spooky Inkadinkado tree. I didn't really intend to make the entire card about this too cute to spook scene but I just kept stamping and masking, stamping and adding until there wasn't any part that I wanted to cut away to make room for my usual paper and embellies. So I didn't fight it and let this card just be what it is. For the sky background I played around with a watercolor brush pen that I filled with colorless blender rather than water. I die cut a big circle to mask off the moon and then I just used the brush pen to pick up the ink from a couple of my dark blue Copics and got a cool sketchy watercolor look. Getting super stampy like this doesn't happen a lot for me but I had a lot of fun creating this card and my favorite thing... that silly little spider that the ghosty is walking, it just cracks me up! :)
Okey dokey friends, time for me to split!

Black cats steal hearts...
Good morning!
Yesterday afternoon I was cruising around all my favorite stamp shops and I saw that A Day for Daisies had a new Halloween release. So many little witches with their kitties, talk about total cuteness! Considering I live my life surrounded by my own clowder of black cats who was I to resist purchasing a couple of these digis? I settled on Little Witch Waiting to color up for my card today because the tiers of her dress would work beautifully with the violet ombre that I wanted to do which was inspired by the current ADFD challenge, 'Mucha love'. The touches of gold that I added to my card also come from the challenge inspiration photos. Clean, simple and pretty, pretty, pretty! :)
Ok friends, hope your week is off to a great start!

Ok friends, hope your week is off to a great start!

Happy Halloween...
TGIF everybody!
I'm back with another Halloween card because we are officially in that time of year now. I decided to play along in the Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday challenge to use circles and even though in the end I only ended up using half a circle I'm hoping that it still counts. I also wanted to combine a new stamp with an older one so I grabbed Wicked Witch and put her with the cute pumpkin carving witch from the My Best Friends are Witches set (it must be sold out now 'cause I can't find it in the store to link). With just a bit of masking and a tiny alteration to Wicked's eyes so that she was looking down at her protege, I had a fab Halloween scene to color up. With Wicked's silver hair I can just picture her instructing this young witchypoo on the fine art of pumpkin carving among many other magical happenings. :)
Ok, I'm off for another fun Friday full of coloring.
Later gators!

Doggone sweet...
Hi guys!
This post will be a quick one as I've got quite the day ahead of me. This simple little card was totally inspired by my having to pull out Pup Pup's fall sweaters a couple days ago. When the temperature cools down my Yorkie loves wearing his sweaters and after ten years he has amassed an eclectic wardrobe. So when it came time for me to sit down in my craft room yesterday I found this cute Sweater Pup digi from Some Odd Girl and I just had to color him up. Since he doesn't look much like a Yorkie I decided to make him a chocolate Lab instead. All I had to do then was give this sweet puppy a neighborhood to live in and this card was done. :)
Well friends I'm outta here. Thanks for stopping by!
