Hi there!
I'm posting over at the Greeting Farm blog
today and when I'm deciding which stamps to ink up for these posts I generally try to use them as an opportunity to get as yet un-inked stamps onto a card. So as I was browsing through the store to see if there where any stamps I have in my collection not yet inked, the American Heroes set caught my eye. But because my creative mind is still stuck firmly in mermaid mode I couldn't stop myself from taking this in a very non-military direction. So I also grabbed this coy cutie from the Little Mermaids set and created a cheeky little scene between her and the sailor from the American Heroes set. By using a rolling wave die cut on the card front I was able to create a kind of window to house the sailor and his ship while putting some distance between these two flirty sea goers. I borrowed the little stone stamp from the Make a Splash set to give the mermaid something to sit on and added a die cut palm tree to complete the scene. I also knew just what I wanted the sentiment to say but didn't have a stamp in my collection that worked, so I went back into my crafty stash from my scrapbooking days and found the perfect alphabet rub-ons to create it myself. I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised that they still worked, LOL!
Well, thanks so much for dropping by today!

Thinking of you...
Hello!
I'm kinda on the run this morning so this will be a super quick post. How cute is this mermaid from Impronte d'Autore?! She is part of a set that includes the little oysters as well and I am completely smitten with this cutie. The image is so great it didn't take much else to pull this card together, I just colored in some simple sea weed behind the sand castle and then used my new wonky scalloped frame die to cut it all out. It's a sweet and simple card that totally makes me smile! :)

Friends are like stars...
Good morning!
Today I've got another card using stamps from Dreamerland Crafts' first release of 2018. The Mix and Match line of clear stamps that they've come out with is so fantastic, all of the little scene building elements work together perfectly. This really speeds up the whole scene building process that I love to do so much. This time around I grabbed the older A Fantasy Ride stamp and wanted to make it look like she is floating gently down a mystical stream at twilight. Once I had her stamped as well as the sign post from the Garden Accents set, I masked them both off and then repeatedly stamped the bushes from the Mailbox & Wall set to create a hedge behind. Then I masked the hedge and added the row of trees in the distance using the Trees and Leaves 01 set. I had so much fun playing with color and shadow within this scene and I can't wait to see what other older character stamps I can pair up and create new scenes with. :)
Toodles!

A sea full of love...
Hey there!
As June winds down I'm starting to wrap up my prolonged month of mermaids. That's not to say one or two won't swim onto the scene later in the summer (I still have a couple new ones I need to get my hands on) but the official month of mers is nearing its end. It's bitter sweet by this time since I do miss creating with my other stamps but I also feel like I still have so many mermaids waiting to get inked. I guess they will just have to be patient for another year. For my card today I have colored up the Mermaid Viviane digi from Make It Crafty. I'm pretty sure she caught my eye because the drawing style kinda reminds me of the cartoon characters I grew up with as a child, most specifically the Jem cartoons. Which now that I think about it is probably why she ended up with this funky ombre hair color, LOL! And for a fun change up I decided to color the water violet rather than blue and I gotta say, I love it. Viviane and her goldfish pal totally pop against these dark and mysterious waters. :)

Go with all your heart...
Hi there!
I've got some inspiration to share on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page today and once again I am having fun with some Deep Red Stamps. This time around I've left the monochromatic look behind and have gone full technicolor with a bright summer themed card. This little selfie taking gal, from the City Girls Summer Vacation set, caught my eye and I knew she needed a special background to be posing in front of. Luckily for me I had just received the Natures Borders set making it super easy to transport this city girl to the Big Island. First I masked her off then I stamped the palm tree border a couple times up at her shoulder level and then stamped the stone border a couple times down at her feet. From there all I had to do was color in a lagoon between the two shorelines and add some sky and mountains behind the stand of palms. Now she is truly enjoying her very own paradise. :)
Ok, our current "Distress Ink" challenge just got under way so there is plenty of time to get inky and join the fun. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and the store is full of fabulous new finds!

Let's be mermaids...
TGIF my friends!
A couple of months back I was browsing the 'what's new' section at Simon Says and I came across this Mermaids set from Art Gone Wild. This company was new to me but I didn't hesitate adding the stamp set to my cart. So when it came time to get her on a card I decided to use desert sand ink for a soft and pretty no-line look. I also stamped up some of the kelp vines from the set to help set the scene of an underwater cave where this mermaid is coming to collect salad for her dinner. I paired her up with this fun sentiment from Stamping Bella because there are more than a few times that I wish this could actually happen, LOL!
Alrighty then, I've got a busy weekend ahead of me. See ya on Monday!

A million little wishes...
Hello crafty peeps!
It's the 21st and that means it is time for a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. For the next couple weeks the theme is "Distress Inks". So whether they are the originals or the oxide inks now is the time to pull out those ink pads and get creative. For my card today I inked up the brand new Dandelion Wishes set from Mama Elephant. I just got my hands on it a couple days ago and there was no resisting the cuteness of these little critters, I had to create something with them right away. So I stamped up this fun scene and masked them off before grabbing a cloud stencil and sponging in the background using Squeezed Lemonade Oxide for the sky and Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint for the field. I did go back in with my Copics and add some darker green shadows in the ink under the animals and the stand of trees in the distance. I love how it all came together to make this happy little card. :)
Ok, now it's your turn to create something for our "Distress Inks" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and there are a lot of fun new goodies arriving so check it out!

An ocean full of thanks...
Hi there!
So with my affinity for mermaids it should come as no surprise that when the Whimsy Stamps release came out at the beginning of the month I snatched them right up. This beautiful girl is Naia the Mermaid and I absolutely adore her, I mean just look at that hair! I think it was the Rapunzel like nature of her hair that got me to go with a blonde color combo on her and from there I kept the rest of her look soft and pretty. To contrast that I decided to add pops of bright colors to the card by coloring in some whimsical trailing seaweed and other water flora. I like to imagine Naia tending to her under the sea garden so thankful for the beauty and bounty all her hard work has produced. And since a new "anything goes" challenge just started up over at Whimsy, I am going to add her into the running. :)
Alrighty, I'm off to enjoy a day of coloring. See ya in 24!

You are the pearl...
Hello, hello!
I couldn't let the summer go by without getting a lovely mermaid from A Day For Daisies on a card. They have so many beautiful mermaids to choose from that it was kinda hard to narrow it down. I finally settled on Mermaid She Dreams though I did a small alteration by masking the shoes out of her hands when I printed her out. This allowed me to add a shell and pearl instead which played back nicely to the sentiment I chose to pair with her. All the Copic colors I used were pulled to match this gorgeous Sea Maiden paper that was released from Authentique this summer, safe to say it is my favorite mermaid paper that I've gotten my hands on in quite a while. And even though I did color in a bit of a background it was fun to pull out my dies and give them a spin once again. :)
Later gators!

Black and white ATCs...
Good morning!
It's my turn to post over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page and I figured this would be the perfect time to share the Artist Trading Cards, or ATCs, that I made for the second 7 Kids ATC swap that recently wrapped up. The theme this time around was monochromatic and I chose to go with black and white since I liked the challenge of creating entire scenes with just a single family of grey markers. For the stars of the show I grabbed four different City Girls sets from Deep Red Stamps. This is perfect for me because I don't get bored coloring the same thing seven or eight times yet they all tie together nicely. Because the 2.5"x3.5" footprint of an ATC is on the small side I didn't worry about stamping the entire body of each girl onto the card. By just focusing on the torso up this really helped to push each gal into the foreground. :)
Ok, there is still time to enter the current "sunshine" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and Kelly has added some fun new goodies recently so check it out!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Catherine Pooler
stamps- Deep Red (City Girls Casual Friday set, City Girls Street Chic set, City Girls Weekend Fun set, City Girls Formal Affair set), Pink and Main (sentiment)
ink- Memento tuxedo black
Copic markers:
C00, C0, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, C9, C10, 100

And if you can't wait for the hop to be over, you can purchase these stamps along with their coordinating dies HERE.We also released our new Faith Stamp Set called PROMISE today! It's already a hit among our Design Team! This stamp set is not part of the Blog Hop prize, but it is available for purchase in The Greeting Farm Store along with the rest of the new release.
For my card today I just had to get this third little astronaut from the My Universe set onto a card of his own. With his back to us he seems to be an explorer on the go so I grabbed this sheet of space paper that adds a lot of movement to the design and used a light grey ink to stamp in the jet stream vapor from his pack. Now it looks like he is flying through the stars at great speed. If you couldn't tell, I've been having a lot of fun with these stamps, LOL!
Alrighty, I shall send you on your way. Enjoy the hop! :)

Happy Father's Day...
Hi there!
Well, we've made it to the fourth and final day of June previews for The Greeting Farm and we've got some happy hippos to introduce to you. This mini stamp set is called Hi Hippo and it includes four fantastic hippos as well as a sentiment. For my card I chose to ink up this fun little mister who is sitting and reading the daily news because I thought he would be perfect for a cute Father's Day card. I paired him up with this great newsprint paper from October Afternoon and then added a little living room scene around him with an old stamp set from my stash. I think he looks quite cozy now. :)
Alrighty, you know what to do... head on over to the TGF blog for even more Hi Hippo cuteness from the Farmers. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase tomorrow, the 15th, along with a blog hop for a chance to win all four new stamp sets! Supply list:

Have a wild time...
Olo!
Here we are at day three of the Greeting Farm June release and this stamp set is taking us on an exciting safari today. It's called Wild Time and the exotic animals included are a giraffe, zebra, hippo, elephant and toucan along with a few sentiments and tall grass accent stamps. As soon as I laid eyes on this set I knew that I wanted to dig out the classic Wild Sprout Bree because even though she is technically a little mail carrier, I always thought she looked like she could be going on a sight seeing safari of her own, especially once I enlarged and printed out the binoculars from the S'more Fun digital add on set. Once I had Bree ready to go I created a watering hole with the giraffe and zebra on the shore and I sank the hippo into the water by simply not inking up the bottom half of his body and then coloring the blue water in around him. Selective inking is such a fun and easy technique for really playing and getting new looks out of your stamps. :)
Now you'll want to trek on over to the TGF blog to see the fab cards my fellow Farmers have made with this Wild Time stamp set. :)

You rocket...
Hi there!
Welcome back for day two of the Greeting Farm June release. Today we've got an out of this world clear set of astronauts called My Universe to share. It comes with three astronauts, two rockets, a handful of planets, asteroids and stars as well as three fun sentiments. For my card today I pulled out the awesome Blast Off paper collection by My Mind's eye to help me set the perfect space inspired scene for these little interstellar explorers. I couldn't resist using some of the cool holographic prints and coordinating stickers to make the card look extra space aged. The astronauts and rocket were fussy cut then glued down to the paper but not before I added some white baker's twine tethering them to the ship... I didn't want them floating away, LOL!
My fellow Farmer's have created some far out cards with this set too so be sure to go check out the TGF blog as well. :)

A good day...
Hello!
It's time to start previews for the June Greeting Farm release. This month we have three clear sets and a clear single to share with you. Starting the whole thing off is a brand new Anya called Plan It. You can tell that this girl is super organized and never forgets an appointment or assignment. And sure she looks great on a card but if you are a planner gal yourself, how perfect would she be to decorate an actual planner?! I paired Plan It Anya up with some older Doodlebug papers and stickers from the Take Note collection because it seriously looks like they were made just for her, LOL!
Alrighty, you know what to do... head on over to the TGF blog for even more Plan It Anya cuteness from the Farmers. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase on the 15th! :)

Life is the bubbles...
TGIF!
Last June I took the Becky Bubbles stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie and altered her into a bathtub bound mermaid. Well, when I saw that they were hosting a mermaid challenge in their Facebook group this week I was inspired to do a similar alteration using Brigitte. What can I say... I have a fascination with mermaids soaking in tubs, LOL! First, I grabbed the classic KK mermaid, Calliope and stamped just the end of her tail. Then because Brigitte is a clear stamp, it was easy to line her up, get her inked and then wipe away her human legs before stamping. Then I grabbed a black multiliner pen to add some bubbles and finish bringing the tail into the water. Just look at that relaxed face, can't you hear the sigh of relief as she transforms back into her true form? ;)
Alrighty, have a wonderful weekend and I will see you back here Monday with some TGF previews!

Dream big little mermaid...
Hello my crafty friends!
It's the 7th and that means it is time for a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. For the next couple weeks the theme will be "sunshine". There are many ways to create a card or project within this theme, from using yellow and orange color palettes to grabbing an actual sun ray stencil, the sky's the limit! For my inspiration card I inked up this chubby little merbaby from Whimsy Stamps called Goldie. She does bring to mind a rolly polly goldfish which I thought would be a nice reference back to the whole sunny theme. Another way I incorporated sunshine into my design was by literally coloring rays of sunshine into the top of the water and by going super dark at the bottom it makes the light look brighter. It's hard to tell from the photo but I also added glossy accents to the bubbles which looks really cool in person. I'm also going to enter this card into the current "anything goes" challenge over at Whimsy Stamps. :)
Ok, now it's your turn to create something for our "SUNSHINE" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and there are a lot of fun new goodies arriving soon so check it out!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Catherine Pooler
