TGIF!
Since this is the last day I will be posting before jumping into Halloween cards next week I knew I wanted to get this cutie on a card. These two walkin' buddies from Mo's Digital Pencil are called Corgi and Bess and I paired them up with the Happy Home set from Sunny Studio Stamps to set the scene. Now they are ready to take a stroll through the neighborhood together, enjoying a beautiful fall afternoon. I'm hoping to do a bit of the same thing today as it looks like we have a perfect fall weekend ahead of us. Hopefully it's just as nice in your neck of the woods. :)
Have a great one my friends!

Birthday Wishes...
Hello, hello!
There was no way that I could ink up Oak Tree Boy yesterday and not get this adorable Oak Tree Girl on a card of her own. So I've got a bonus Whimsy post this week along with the satisfied feeling of completing the set, LOL! I didn't feel like I needed to reinvent the wheel with this one so I kept the wood grain frame idea and die cut acorn embellishments. The birthday theme stayed as well since I still had that sentiment set out on my desk. Another simply sweet card ready to make someone's day. :)
Later gators!

Happy Birthday...
Mornin' friends!
This week for my Whimsy post I inked up a sweet older Sylvia Zet image called Oak Tree Boy. These darling little characters tug at my heartstrings and make for super cute cards. I wanted this one to be for a fall birthday so I pulled out a fun sentiment and made it happen. To keep with the nature/fall season vibe I found this scrap of wood grain paper in my stash and used it to frame the scene. Then I just finished the card off with a little bow and some die cut acorns. The end result is simple and sweet... just how I like my cards. :)
See ya manana!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink

You're pretty...
Hi there!
It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. In my last order from 7 Kids I got some of the fun new viking stamps from CC Designs along with some Neat and Tangled goodies. At the time I hadn't planned on pairing up the two but as I was putting the stamps away I really looked at this You're Pretty sentiment set and realized how perfect it would be with this fabulous Viking Nancy character. I love how together they take a rather superficial compliment and turn it into an empowering message. :)
Alrighty, there is still a couple weeks to play along in the September 'anything goes' challenge so head on over to the 7 Kids blog and play along for the chance to win a $30 gift certificate!
Supply list:

Crisp sunburnt leaves...
Good morning!
With fall officially upon us I just had to print off this gorgeous Spirit of Autumn digi from Some Odd Girl and get her on a card. At first I couldn't decide what color her hair should be so I challenged myself to create a fall ombre effect from brown all the way down to golden yellow at the ends. I'm pretty happy with the final results, at least it mimics the changing leaves on the train of her gown quite nicely. When it came time to color a quick background I made sure to make the tall grass sway in the same direction as her wind blown tresses to really sell that illusion of a crisp, autumn breeze. I found the sentiment in an older 6x6 paper pad from Simple Stories and it couldn't have been more perfect. All in all I had a lot of fun coloring this one up. :)
Ok then, hope your week is off to a great start!

Warm wishes just for you...
TGIF!
I'm wrapping up this week with a quick little card featuring the long retired Twinkle Tot Madelynn from TGF. I was kinda hoping that some of her fellow Twinkle Tots would be in the Farmer's Market yesterday but no luck. I'll just have to keep hoping and waiting a bit longer to complete my collection. In the meantime I have been waiting for the cooler fall season to get Madelynn on a card. She's so stylish with her long, fabulous scarf and pretty floral cap. In fact it was that flower that had me pulling this lovely floral paper to pair with her and pull all my Copic colors from. Total bonus that it gave me a built in sentiment for the card as well. :)
Have a crafty weekend everybody!

Hello fall...
Olo!
The weather has definitely taken a turn for the cooler side with the nights getting down right chilly here. I'm not complaining though because I finally got to pull out all my comfy sweaters and snuggle up. I guess that's why this cutie caught my eye, with her oversized sweater and layers I could just feel the nip in the air. She's called Hello Autumn and I mean come on, how adorable is she? The birch trees made another appearance too because I thought that lone leaf needed somewhere to fall from. It makes for a sweet, simple scene that I am quite happy with. :)

Milk and cookies...
Mornin' crafty friends!
I'm here today with another card for Whimsy Stamps and I had a lot of fun with this one. This darling stamp is called Sweet Lil' Chef but she looks like a baker to me. Who can resist delicious chocolate chip cookies? Heck, I would take that bowl of cookie dough right now, LOL! I had just gotten the new Milk and Cookies 6x6 paper pad from Doodlebug and even though it is technically a Christmas collection I knew right away that I wanted to use this specific paper with Sweet Lil' Chef on a non-holiday card. So I pulled my Copic colors from the paper and I think she turned out just as sweet as those cookies she's baking. :)
Ok, time for me to get my day started. Thanks for dropping by!

Autumn Greetings...
Hello crafty friends!
It's time for my Tuesday 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card. I placed an order as soon as the new release from Stamping Bella hit the shelves and once those stamps were in my hot little hands I just had to ink some of them up. Tiny Townie Layla Loves Leaves completely stole my heart with all of her joy and exuberance and she needed somewhere special to live. So I masked her off and added the leaf pile and log from the awesome Little Bits Nature Collection set and finished off the scene with the Cave Kids Backdrop. I chose not to ink up the stream in the backdrop since I already had so much else going on and I love how such a simple change completely changes up the look of the stamp. I colored the whole scene to match the colors in this pretty Vintage Blessings paper from Simple Stories and I don't think you could ask for a more beautiful fall day than this. :)
Now don't forget the monthly challenge over on the 7 Kids blog, there is still plenty of time to get creative. And because it is the special one year anniversary challenge the prize has been upped to an awesome $30 gift certificate!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink

Peace this day...
Good morning!
I've got another sweet Dreamerland card to share today. This stamp is called A Little Peaceful Rest and being the animal lover that I am I fell in love with these napping buddies as soon as I saw them. It doesn't get much better than snuggling down for a nap with a furry friend right by your side, if you ask me. I trimmed away the cardstock below her and replaced it with this cool wood grain paper from Simple Stories. I love how it looks like a wall with the flowers growing up it. Oh, if only I had time to grab my own pup and take a nap today. Instead I'm off to work all day so time for that, LOL!

Fun days...
TGIF my friends!
I'm wrapping up the week with a card that I've made for this week's sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things. I took some liberties with the sketch and shrank the circle elements way down so they were more embellishment than focal point. That's because I really wanted to fill most of the space with this adorable Jumping With Joy Pure Innocence and instead of jumping I have her playing in a big pile of leaves. I stamped and masked most of the leaves in a light colored ink so she would really pop against the softer, less distinct lines, then made sure to add a drop shadow in W4 to help ground her into the scene. I also used the cool new Whimsical Woodgrain background stamp and stamped it tone o n tone with some brown cardstock to stick with the whole outdoorsy, nature feel of the card. I gotta say, this was a lot of fun and it felt goo d to ink up a Pure Innocence after so long. :)
Take care and have a fab weekend!

Grow better with love...
Good morning!
I'm back today with another card for Whimsy Stamps and this one features the enchanting Veritas by Sylvia Zet. Over the past decade I have watched many of the apple orchards that I grew up with be replaced by vineyards and you can't seem to throw a rock without hitting some kind of winery or tasting room in my home town. Now I'm not much of a wine drinker myself but this beautiful little vineyard sprite just had to make it on a card celebrating the change in season and the coming grape crush. I love how her long flowing hair almost mimics the curling vines of the grapes. I really wanted her to have a place to live in this so I used my Copics to sketch in a lush vineyard in the distance. Now she looks like she is guarding over all those yummy grapes. :)
Thanks for dropping by and saying hi... I'll chat at'cha again tomorrow!
Supply list:

New journey...
Hey there!
It's the second Wednesday of the new month and that means it's time for the September 'anything goes' challenge over on the 7 Kids challenge blog. Playing along is easy, all you have to do is use at least one product that can be found in the 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store and link back to the challenge blog in your own post, which gives you a chance at winning a $20 gift certificate at the end of the month... who doesn't love that?
This month I inked up The Road to Home is Never Too Far from Dreamerland Crafts for my challenge inspiration card. I love all the bits and pieces that come in this set that make scene building a breeze. I masked the cute teddy bear into the wagon then masked the wagon to have this pretty gal pulling it. The path and hills are also included and when they all come together you have a sweet pair of adventurers ready to begin a new and wonderful journey.
Well I hope to see some of you joining the fun this month over at 7 Kids especially since we have even more contests and challenges going on in our Facebook group as Kelly celebrates her one year anniversary of owning the store. :)

Have a sparkly day...
Good morning!
It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. These Fluffy Unicorns from The Greeting Farm have been sitting on my desk for a good couple months now. Every time I glanced at these fat and happy little unicorns they made me smile. So why wasn't I getting them on a card to spread that smile to someone else? I finally did just that and made sure the colors and papers were as bright and happy as this funny trio. I want to hug them and squeeze them and poke those little round bellies just like the Pillsbury Dough Boy, LOL! ;)
Alrighty, well the August challenge just wrapped up but be sure to check out the 7 Kids blog tomorrow when September's challenge kicks off! Fun new stuff is hitting the store shelves daily and that $20 gift certificate that is up for grabs could really help to fill a shopping cart!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink
paper- My Mind's Eye (pink), Bella Blvd (yellow), Autumn Leaves (orange)
stamps- The Greeting Farm (Fluffy Unicorns set)
ink- Memento desert sand, Studio Calico sunny day and Versamark clear
American Crafts Zing white embossing powder
My Favorite Things sun ray stencil
Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die
My Favorite Things stitched cloud edges
Wink of Stella clear glitter pen

It's your day...
Hello, hello!
Today I've got a lovely little card to share that I made for the current Some Odd Girl 'anything goes' challenge. This digi is called Flower Kaylee and since those flowers that she's wearing looked like mums to me I had to go with a fall color scheme. She's all bright and bold, rich and saturated with colors just like a beautiful autumn day. I used a fancy border die along one edge of the cardstock and let that and the sprinkling of gems be the only embellishing so as not to compete with this beauty. :)
Later gators!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Copic X-Press It
paper- Basic Grey (Eva)
digital stamp- Some Odd Girl (Flower Kaylee)
stamp- Papertrey Ink (sentiment)

Kaiser Craft gems
Wink of Stella clear glitter pen
Sharpie white marker

Full of possibilities...
TGIF!
I'm wrapping up this week with an All Dressed Up beauty from LDRS creative. She's from the Girl's Night Out set but I wanted to put her in a sunny fall afternoon scene. So once I colored her up using the no-line technique I masked her off and stamped these birch trees behind. I can't even tell you how many years those trees have been sitting in my stamp stash, I know I got them in a Studio Calico kit long ago so it felt really good to finally ink them up. I have an affinity for paper white birch trees since there are two large ones in my front yard and every fall the lawn is blanketed with their golden leaves. Since it is still early in the season I only added a few stray leaves to the ground. I think it all came together for a pretty little fall card. :)
Have a wonderful weekend everybody!

Hi friend...
Hi friends!
I've got another Greeting Farm cutie to share today, this time for the current Farm Fresh sketch challenge. This sweet girl is from the retired O&A Little Dreamer set and I did some altering to give her the fun owl backpack that the boy is originally wearing. It ended up covering most of her body but I think it still works. I colored her to match these pretty Report Card papers from October Afternoon and followed the sketch closely for a quick and easy card design. Apparently I'm still on a back to school kick with this one as well, LOL! What can I say... September hits and no matter how warm the days still get I am ready for all things fall. ;)
Ok then, time for me to scoot my boot. I'll see ya in 24!

Plot Twist...
Mornin' crafty friends!
I'm here with my first official post as a Whimsy Stamps guest designer... yeah! Because yesterday was the first day of school in my town I was inspired to ink up the darling Book Worm stamp and get her on a card. I myself have always been a huge reader, after stamping and coloring it is my next favorite past time. I love fantasy and historical fiction most of all so when I inked up Book Worm I used a light ink and did some no-line coloring, giving her a very specific book to be reading. Ten points to Gryffindor if you can guess which one it is, LOL! Then I couldn't resist adding a bookcase behind her for the stack of books to rest on and now she is the ultimate Book Worm!
Alrighty, well thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out the Whimsy blog for all of the exciting September release sneak peeks that are going on. :)

By the way...
Hello!
It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. This week I felt like making something lighthearted and happy so I grabbed this fun stamp called Birthday Puppy from CC Designs. It doesn't get much better than puppy kisses and snugs I tell ya! I also had this wonderful sentiment from Impression Obsession sitting on my desk and it seemed very apropos to the delightful scene. Who says Birthday Puppy just has to be for birthday cards anyway?
Alrighty, there is still another week to play along in the August 'anything goes' challenge so head on over to the 7 Kids blog and join the fun! New product is hitting the shelves every day and that $20 gift certificate prize could really help to fill a shopping cart!

Smart is the new pretty...
Good morning
I love, love, love this Anya from the Spectacular set and with the addition of these frames she totally reminds me of the actress,Tina Fey. I actually stamped the frames in grey so that I could take a gold glitter Spica pen to them and give them a splash of color. I paired her up with some pretty papers from Simple Stories and colored her up to match. I liked that the color scheme was sweet looking and still a bit funky, which suited the sentiment I wanted to use with her as well. All in all this clean and simple card came together very quickly and I couldn't be any happier with it. :)
Well, if you've got today off enjoy the long weekend!

You ARRR Amazing...
TGIF crafty friends!
This is an idea that I've been playing with ever since I got this Torn Paper stamp from Katzelkraft. The adorable pirate is called Hands Up and she is from Nellie Snellen's Young Rebels collection. With her pistol held high and that cocksure pose, I could just imagine her shooting a ball through that treasure map at 50 paces. I love how the torn map frames her and it was a lot of fun coloring in just the hint of sand and sea behind this sassy pirate. I get so much satisfaction from my crafting when I can create a little story with my stamps and this card totally hit that mark for me.
Alrighty then, time for work. Have a wonderful weekend everybody!
