Smell the flowers...

Hey, hey!

This lovely Spring Anya was the first of the four Farmer's Market exclusive Anya stamps at The Greeting Farm last year and she ended up being the last one to make it onto a card. I've actually had her all stamped up and sitting on my desk for months just waiting for the right time of year to roll around. For the background I paired her with some of the scene builders in the Gardening digi set to create a little grow station on the side of her she-shed. It looks like Anya has been quite busy playing in the dirt and now she is finally being rewarded with some pretty blooms. The sentiment is from an Ellen Hutson set and I stamped it in a tone on tone green to blend in with the siding. I'm just so proud of myself for getting all four of these cuties onto cards before the next Farmer's Market pops up in April... I wonder what new series Marie will be starting this year? So exciting!

Have a good one!

On your b-day...

Good morning!

This past Saturday I did a Live coloring using the new digital stamp release at Sweet November Stamps called, Birthday Cookies. They are just the latest addition to our popular cookie themed digi line-up and they really do make for the sweetest birthday cards out there. For this card I combined the party bunting and boy cookie from Cookie set 2 with the girl cookie from Cookie set 3. I also brought in the older alphabet set and the cooling rack for them all to rest on. It was suggested early on in the Live that we go with a fun primary color scheme that harkens back to those classic birthday parties from a time before the popularity of themed parties. I gotta say, I don't pull out the primaries to work with very often so this was a fun change of pace and I think the end result definitely has a kind of retro vibe to it which is so cute!

Ok, I've got to head to the big city today for an appointment. Talk at'cha later!

Delicious birthday cookies at Sweet November!

Hello friends!

There's a new digital stamp release at Sweet November Stamps today and we are once again adding to the popular cookie collections with Birthday Cookies. There are three bundles of fun cookies, each includes four individually decorated cookies, plus a numbers cookie set that adds on to previously released alphabet set. Cookie set 1 includes a cupcake, party hat, animal balloon and birthday candle. Cookie set 2 has a balloon, party bunting, a tall gift and excited boy. And Cookie set 3 includes a square gift, bunch of balloons, slice of cake and excited girl.

For my first card I've arranged two birthday candle cookies with the slice of cake cookie on the baking sheet. A mix of letters and the number 2 create a shorthand birthday message that I then built upon with the rest of the greeting once the scene was all colored up. I used a mix of a die cut word along with the new Birthday's are the Best clear set that was recently added to the store. If you would like to watch the coloring of this card there is a short Reel on Instagram and a longer speed coloring will be added to the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel.

Next, I placed the party hat cookie, cupcake cookie, balloon animal cookie and bunch of balloons cookie all together on the cooling rack and colored them in bright girly colors that would be perfect for a sweet sixteen party. I used a pretty script font birthday die and colored it with my Copic markers to match the bright pink frosting on the cookies, then added another sentiment from the Birthday's are the Best set to complete the card.

For m
y third and final card I piled the tall gift cookie with the square gift cookies into the bottom of the baking sheet, while the single balloon cookie balances them up at the top. This time I went with a sweet pastel color palette that would get any little girl excited for a special birthday treat. Another die cut combo along with the Birthday's are the Best set completes this festive scene.

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Birthday Cookie deliciousness from the rest of our talented design team. Also, don't forget, I will be coloring Live today at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!

Favorite Stories...

TGIF my friends!

I have been drawing, drawing, drawing all week long, which hasn't left me with any time for card making. So today I'm sharing the completed card from one of the release weekend Lives that I did over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. On this card I paired the adorable Fairwee Readers with the older  Wildflower Meadow Background Builder set to make creating a scene quick and easy. All the pretty spring pastels came into play as colors were suggested by my fellow crafters, creating a magical story for us to enjoy.

Don't forget that there is a new digi release coming to the store tomorrow and that means I will be coloring Live once again at 11am PST.  ;)

See ya there!

Wishing you a happy day...

Hello there!

The mail must have been running quickly this month because my Sweet November Stamps March PenPal has already received her card, and she is all the way over in the EU. So that means I get to share the card that I made for her and the theme for this month's swap was fairies. With no shortage of cute fairies to choose from, I finally settled on Fairy Tia from the A Fairy Cute Day digi collection. I paired Tia. with Beezer, from the Bud and Beezer digi set and a flower to perch on, from the Rose and Gerbera Daisy Background set. I let myself play with my favorite color, orange, to create a bright and happy scene for these magical friends. Hopefully this card was like a little ray of sunshine when my PenPal opened up the envelope. :)

Have a good one!

Brighten your day...

Hey, hey!

Last Thursday we wrapped up the latest Scene Progression Break Down video series over on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel. This time around it was all about creating a pastoral fantasy scene for this cutie from the Fairy Hair set. The building of the background progressed a bit differently than usual, creating layers over the entire card during the last three weeks to really focus on how I map out the various elements. The fairy herself got a head of pretty plum colored hair that compliments the orange and green combo in the scenery. All together they make up the tertiary part of the color wheel which creates a naturally appealing color scheme. Because I'm busy working on new images for upcoming releases, there won't be a new series this week. Instead I hope to get something filmed for the the following Thursday. Until then, I hope you've enjoyed this fun scene and all of the rest of the videos that can be found on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel.

Toodles!  :)
