You're a treasure...

Olo!

I've got another Whimsy mermaid to share with you today. This little beauty is called Mermaid Darling and she is quite suited to that name if you ask me. I went with the no-line coloring technique on Darling which allowed me to easily switch her eye line from looking down to looking up. I think this gives her a coy and rather teasing demeanor, like she is planning some sort of mischief with a pirate or two from that ship in the distance. Speaking of that ship, it's an old October Afternoon rubber stamp that I've had in my stash for ages just waiting for the right card to sail onto. Though I did use it with the My Favorite Things mirror image stamp so that it was sailing in the right direction. And I'm linking this card up as my first entry into this month's "anything goes" challenge over on the Whimsy blog.

Cozy Christmas...

Hey there

This year I had an aunt and uncle downsize, following the current tiny house trend, so I thought it would be fun to use this Tiny Trailer stamp on a Christmas card for them. I had originally got it back in the summer with the intention to pair it up with some camping characters but that didn't happen. I think it's cool how it worked out though because now this festive trailer gets to be the star of the show. I colored it in silver and gold then added the party lights to the background for some extra color and holiday cheer.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good one!  :)

Birthday boy

Olo!

Oh man, has it been nice here! We hit the low 80's yesterday and it was just a beautiful weekend! Luckily the nights still are cooling down quite a bit, just how I like it. Perfect May weather!

So I suppose it isn't any surprise that I couldn't stay away from that Summer Fresh paper for very long. Though this time I wanted to make a cute boy card with that great denim looking print. Talk about easy peasy... one of the 4x6 panels and some plaid in the background and most of the work was done for me again. All I had to add was a stamped sentiment on one of the 'tags' and a sprinkling of buttons for embellishment.
The stamps are a bit different for me because that little boy and his pup actually come from an October Afternoon set rather than my usual go-to stamp companies. I loved them as soon as I saw peeks of them last year and couldn't wait to get my hands on them. And once I got the set I did use a couple of the sentiments and I think one of the birds but all of the main images sat unloved. Sadness! But this card remedied that situation and eventually I will get the little girl on a card too. :)

Ok, work beckons and I must bid you adieu... hugs!

Trick or treat, smell my feet...

Mornin' folks!

I'm running a bit behind this morning as I get ready to head off to work so this will be a quickie. :)

So I'm still making headway on getting the images from past videos off my desk and onto cards. I'm determined that I'll have all the Halloween ones done before Halloween actually comes and goes, LOL! Today I've got the Spooktacular Mummy from TGF all colored up along with the entire scene that I created when I did the masking video a while back. This one is really all about the coloring so not a lot of paper or embellishments fussing it up. The sky is colored with Copic marker BV23 and then to smooth out the streaks I just put some colorless blender on a scrap of terry cloth and dabbed it all over giving it a nice mottled appearance that looked much more sky like. If you try this technique just be sure to do that step first so that you don't accidentally dab colorless blender all over the parts of the scene that you want to stay smooth, like the houses and that cute mummy here.
I also drew a small candy pail for the little trick or treater to really finish off the entire scene.

Okey dokey, time for me to scoot... thanks for stopping by... Oh! And Carisa has a new hair coloring video up at Color Me Copic today so be sure to check that out too! :)
