Divalicious day two

Hey, hey, hey!

I don't know about you but we are finally feeling some true summer time temps here which means soon it will be time to hit the lake! I can't wait... woot woot! For now though I've got a few other things to keep me busy on my day off, like play with my Flip and see if I can't figure out a coloring video or two (wish me luck that I don't get stage fright, LOL)! ;)

But right now I've got another DT Diva digi from Simply Betty Stamps to share with you and today I've used Catherine. Just look at that attitude with her hand on her hip, strutting her stuff as she makes her way to the crafty table, stamp in hand. Too fun! :)
This is the second card in the little note set I made and you can see that I followed the same basic recipe from my Amy card yesterday. So even though it is a different color scheme and papers there is still a continuity between the two.

And don't forget about the Simply Betty blog hop tomorrow to celebrate the mid-month digi release! Hope to see ya there! :)

Something different from Betty

Hello, hello!

So imagine my surprise when Betty herself drew up some characters inspired by the SBDT to release as digis on the 15th over at the Simply Betty store. It was too funny to see this little Amy strollin' along with her stack of pretty pattern papers. Thankfully Betty took a few inches off her waistline and added them to her hair length making her much more sassy and fabulous than I normally look in real life, LOL! ;)
This card is the first of a set of three that I have to share, all leading up to the release day blog hop on Tuesday... now of course I had to go with a monochromatic orange color scheme to represent little Diva Amy and I think she is rockin' the look. :)
Be sure to check out the Simply Betty blog to see what the other gals have created with their own alter egos too!

Later gators! :)

Beach baby, beach baby...

Good morning!

It's shaping up to be a beautiful day here, too bad I have to spend most of it at work... sigh. Oh well, at least I can daydream about playing in the sunshine. Kind of like my card today... :)

This little bathing beauty is one of the new June digi stamps from Spesch (Beach Girl) and as soon as I saw her I knew the exact paper that I wanted to pair with her. I think it is that fun expression on her face that had me wanting to use this quote on the card... it cracks me up! Not that she looks to have anything to be self conscious about but I sure can relate. Seriously, is there anything worse than shopping for a new bathing suit? Luckily I think I can just make do with last summer's suit, LOL!

If you haven't popped by Spesch to check out the rest of the new summer images yet, what are you waiting for? In just a few short days we will be unveiling the mid-month release that is geared more toward the winter months, which our Aussie friends are currently experiencing. It's cute, cute stuff I tell ya! :)

Ok, I gotta scoot the boot... check ya later!

Betty goes Burtonesque

Hidee ho neighbor-ee-nos!

Once again, all I can say is thank goodness for Fridays, LOL!
I don't have any big plans other than to just enjoy my time off and see where the day takes me. :)

So before I get into my card for the day, I've still got one unclaimed Sweet November candy that is looking for a good home... Kate... I need to hear from you by Sunday otherwise I'm going to draw a new name for the Treasure Tempestwind candy and announce on Monday!

Ok, ok moving on... so this week the Burtonesque challenge is being hosted by Simply Betty Stamps and the theme is inspired by Sweeney Todd, final cut and shave (create a card/project using decorative scissors or paper distressing tools). At first I thought about going dark with lots of red/black/white but when I saw pretty little London staring up at me I decided to go a different direction and took my inspiration from the Johanna character in the movie. This allowed me to create a very girly card with just a bit of an 'edge' to it. Get it? Edge? Sweeney Todd? Bwahahahaa sometimes I just crack myself up! ;)
I even blew the dust off of an old pair of pinking shear edge scissors and put them to work on the pink text paper along with some torn edges as well... what can I say, I'm a tearer. Or is that terror? Hard to tell some days... Bwhahahaaha man I am on a roll today! :)

Sigh, alrighty that's all I got... have a lovely weekend!

Lil Lolita Boutique Hop!

Hey, hey, hey!

The Lil Lolita Boutique challenge blog has its very first challenge up and running right now... this first week we are keeping things nice and easy with an "Anything Goes" theme. That's right, you can create anything you want to for the challenge just so long as you use a Lil Lolita stamp. Don't have one yet? Tickled Pink is the place to go to get a few of these sweeties all for yourself. :)

If that isn't enough fun stuff for ya, we are also celebrating the challenge kick-off with a Lil Lolita blog hop! Aaaaaand wait for it... wait for it... there are five Lil Lolita stamps hidden throughout the hop and all you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment on each of the hoppin' blogs! The five lucky winners will be announced on the Lil Lolita Boutique blog with next week's post!
Want to join the fun?
Well my blog is the first stop in the hop so you are already in the right place. :)

Wednesday challenge

Good morning!

So who else teared up just a bit last night during "To Sir With Love"?
I'm not ashamed to admit it! :)
That's all I'm going to say about it for now, because I don't want to spoil Glee for anyone who hasn't watched it yet.

I have a card for the new ATS challenge to use buttons and ribbon and I wanted to use them in a way other than my norm. So I thought about it for a bit and realized that if I twisted the ribbon and used glue dots to hold it down then it could pass as some pretty sweet seaweed. From there it wasn't too big of a leap to use the buttons as bubbles and luckily I had just the stamps to complete the scene, LOL! ;)
Fathom Calmsea is on the scene again and this time she and Lio are joined by Seamoor and Moki as well. Looks like a fun little gathering of friends beneath the waves, doesn't it? I even added glitter to all of the 'water' they are swimming in to make it look even more festive. :)
So now it's your turn to pull out those buttons and ribbon and see what you can create with them for the challenge.Remember, every week there is a new and exciting prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your card must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps store. Whether it is any of our wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries, the choice is yours. Then be sure to link up your creation with Mr Linky by next Tuesday at 10pm est and only one entry per person please!

Alright, I've got to go get busy... so much to do so little time, as they say.
Have a stamp happy day my friends! :)

Getting sketchy

Hello dahlings...

First let us take a moment and reflect on the wonder and glory that has been this past season of Glee. Though I am looking forward to tonight's show it is bittersweet knowing that I will have to wait months before the kids of New Directions will be singing their little hearts out every Tuesday night again. Sigh... what can ya do besides listen to the soundtracks incessantly all summer long? LOL ;)

Ok, enough of me Gleeking out. I do actually have a card to share today too. :)
The new monthly sketch challenge is now up over at the Tickled Pink challenge blog and there is a twist with this one... you also have to create a matching bookmark to go along with your card. Now unlike the Lil Lolita Boutique challenges even if you don't have any Lil Lolitas yet you can still play along in the monthly sketch just so long as you use a stamp that is sold in the Tickled Pink store. Kellie carries a great variety which include Magnolias, CC Designs, Sweet November, Kraftin' Kimmies and more! So take your pick and try your hand at Kellie's fab sketch, there is always a great prize for the lucky winner at the end of the month! :)

For my card I used Lil Lolita Lylah because not only is she super cute but I also loved that she was holding a present. Since I was also making a bookmark I thought it would be fun to have both of them work together to go with an actual book that can be given as a gift to a special friend. :)
And I'm happy to report that all of the papers I used on this card came from my scrap bags, which is always a good feeling! LOL

Alrighty, I'll chat at ya again tomorrow. :)
