A perfect day...

Good morning!

Yesterday I enjoyed some crafty scene building with stamps from my Purple Onion stash. I'm kinda obsessed with all the unique builder elements they offer and I have so much fun coming up with different ones to mix and match. This time around I knew I wanted to start with the adorable Free Spirits stamp because the little fox taking his froggy friend for a ride totally makes me smile. The Spring Fence gave me a nice edge for the lane they are traveling down and beyond that I thought the quaint Summer Cottage could be the perfect destination. In the distance I used the Lake/Pond Background and simply didn't ink up the lower lines of the stamp, so instead of a pond I just got rolling hills full of fresh spring grass. Just like that they all come together to create a charming spring scene that has these two pals racing right into my heart. :)

Later gators!

Happy Easter...

Hello  friends!

I've got another Scenic Saturday card I'm sharing on the Bellariffic Blog and this week I wanted to create an Easter card using the delightful new Little Bo Peep Oddball. Because I knew that I wanted her to have more than one sheep grazing around her I went ahead and cut the sheep separate from Bo Peep on the stamp itself, now I have two stamps and can easily add the wooly cutie to other scenes down the road. This also allowed me to use the sheep with a flat mirror stamp and 'flip' one to face the opposite direction.  After masking off Bo Peep I also added the Summer Backdrop to help set the rolling hillside pastoral scene that I was after. Because the backdrop stamp is longer and extends beyond the edges of a vertical A2 sized card I would have lost the smaller tree if I stamped it as is. Instead I stamped it twice, once from the big tree to where the line disappeared behind my masked Bo Peep, then I cleaned it, shifted it over and stamped again from the little tree to where the line disappeared behind her. This creates the illusion of a seamless background with very minimal effort. Then I just finished it all off with a simple sentiment from the new Easter Sentiment set and I had a perfectly quirky and charming card for the holiday. I don't know about you but I think it looks like Bo could use a chocolate bunny or two... LOL!

Have a crafty weekend!

Hey there...

TGIF!

It's my day to post on the TGF blog and since I used Coffee Anya FB and Cupcake Anya FB the last time I knew that Frappe-y Anya FB deserved her own day to shine. And the awesome news is that these Front and Back Anyas are available in the store right now
For this fun park scene I paired the back of Frappe-y Anya FB with one of the cuties from the Mini Remix Boys set and the pup from the Take a Hike set. By masking Anya and stamping Ian high and slightly behind her, I was able to play with perspective and make it look like the two are walking towards each other on a park path. His smaller size works because he appears to be further back in the distance as they catch sight of each other and give a wave. Who knows, maybe they are meeting for a first date. ;)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a crafty weekend!

Somebunny special...

Hi there!

I was in the mood to play with some Hello Bluebird cuties yesterday and right away I was drawn to the Easter Egg Hunt set. The industrious chicks and bunnies were just too adorable to resist. I also pulled a couple of other sets to help fill out the details in this fun egg coloring scene, like the bugs and flowers etc. A lot of masking went into this one but I always enjoy the challenge of figuring out which stamps go down first. The cheery plaid paper in the background is ooooooooold KI Memories that I've had in my paper stash for almost 20 years... yikes! Talk about better late than never LOL! I love the warmth of it though and the colors definitely influenced my Copic choices when it came to the grass and the chicks. All in all, it is a warm and sunny Easter card that is just as sweet as can be. :)

Stay crafty my friends!

A little sunshine...

Hey, hey!

I'm continuing to work my way through the enchanting moth fairies that I got from Some Odd Girl last month and once I settled on Luna Moth I was faced with quite the dilemma. As lovely as she is seeing her entire body, she has to be printed on the smaller size to fit an A2 card front, thus losing the detail in her beautiful face. So I made the decision to crop in close and blow her up "big head' style to really shine the spotlight on Luna's lovely features... or should I say shined the sunshine on her. I so enjoyed coloring her up like this and gave her a very spring inspired look with the pink hair and soft green gown. Her sunny wings balance the sunny glen that I colored her into for an over all enchanting scene. I couldn't be any happier with this sweet card. :)

With a friend...

Good morning!

The lovely Girl stamps from Felicity Jane were calling to me again just begging to be inked up and who was I to deny them? After a quick debate I settled on miss Rebekah because I liked her casual attire and figured she would pair up quite nicely with some of the new Art Impressions watercolor sets that I recently added to my collection. Once I put Rebekah with the large shop and the wrought iron tables and chairs she looked to be waiting to meet a friend for a Sunday brunch date. Nothing too fancy, just good food with a good friend and time spent catching up on the past week's goings ons. Not much beats that if you ask me. ;)

Toodles!
