TGIF!
Yesterday I was itchin' to ink up some more stamps from the recent Hello Bluebird release and I quickly settled on the adorable tiny skating critters from the Winter Skate set. Of course they go hand in hand with the new slimline Skating Pond scene die so I pulled that out as well and set about creating this winter wonderland scene. These kinds of dies that puzzle piece a scene together are always a fun challenge for me as I think of ways to make them work with my style of single layer stamping and card making. In this case I added to the depth of the scene by grabbing the mountain stamps from the older Frosty Littles set and stamping them on the uppermost panel. Once paired with the larger pine trees in the foreground those mountains really get pushed back into the distance. Because the background is so monochromatic I loosely sketched in some dry grasses and added a thin line of Nuvo glitter at the pond's edge to help provide a bit of distinction between the land and ice. Some simple coloring of the cute little critters and I was ready to piece it all together. For a final finishing touch I grabbed some glittery card stock and die cut out a bunch of snowflakes using the Paper Snowflakes die set and Frosty Flakes die set and glued them into a lazy snowfall across the card. :)
Stay crafty my friends!
