Sweet wishes...

Last week Purple Onion Designs added two new Christmas collections to the store. There is the Frostypine Elementary Holiday Revue collection from Holly Mabutas and the Tofu and Friends Holiday Happiness collection from Chilliezgraphy by Pei. My card today features the cute Flappy's Figgy Pudding stamp from the Tofu and Friends Holiday Happiness collection. Having never eaten a figgy pudding, I had to Google what they looked like so that I could color it up successfully. Apparently it makes for a soft and comfy place for Flappy to take a holiday nap, LOL! The traditional Christmas color scheme in the wall and tabletop reinforce the colors in the image creating an overall festive feel to the card. The sentiment is from the new Season Sayings sentiment set and I added some enamel dots around it for extra decoration.

Be Merry...

Hello again!

It's a review/preview weekend at Sweet November Stamps and that means the team and I are sharing new cards using past holiday stamp releases as well as sneak peeks of some of the new clear stamps coming to the store next Saturday. For my card, I've paired one of the cute kiddos from the Downhill Dashers set with the Front Porch Background that was part of the latest Fall release. I'm also sharing a sneak peek of the new Front Porch Christmas Decor set that is full of cute accessories to transform the porch for the holidays. Happy Holidays...

Hello there!

I'm getting into the holiday spirit with this week's Scenic Saturday post over on the Bellarific blog. Curvy Girl Loves Santa is such a sweet way to dive into Christmas crafting.

The Curvy Girl Loves Santa stamp features this festive curvy girl getting a hug from jolly ol' St. Nick and because the image is nice and large, it easily becomes the focus of any card you use it on. Because of this I felt like concentrating most of my coloring time on the characters themselves and keeping their background simple. While Santa is decked out in his traditional red velvet suit, Curvy is feeling a bit sassy and girly in her bubblegum pink ensemble, complete with candy cane striped stockings. Together, they make a pretty pair posing together on Christmas Eve. The hallway they are standing in was done by coloring the wood flooring in by hand, then masking it and Santa and Curvy so that I could air brush the wall in a very light grey. Before removing the masks I then stamped the wall with a lined background stamp to add some design to the wallpaper behind them. With the festive scene complete, I glued it to a card base of dark green to match the stripes before adding a sentiment from the Be Merry Sentiment set on a lifted strip. Some die cut holly leaves and red pearl 'berries' are the perfect finishing touch for this happy holiday duo.  :)
