Wishing you a happy day...

Hello there!

The mail must have been running quickly this month because my Sweet November Stamps March PenPal has already received her card, and she is all the way over in the EU. So that means I get to share the card that I made for her and the theme for this month's swap was fairies. With no shortage of cute fairies to choose from, I finally settled on Fairy Tia from the A Fairy Cute Day digi collection. I paired Tia. with Beezer, from the Bud and Beezer digi set and a flower to perch on, from the Rose and Gerbera Daisy Background set. I let myself play with my favorite color, orange, to create a bright and happy scene for these magical friends. Hopefully this card was like a little ray of sunshine when my PenPal opened up the envelope. :)

Have a good one!

Brighten your day...

Hey, hey!

Last Thursday we wrapped up the latest Scene Progression Break Down video series over on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel. This time around it was all about creating a pastoral fantasy scene for this cutie from the Fairy Hair set. The building of the background progressed a bit differently than usual, creating layers over the entire card during the last three weeks to really focus on how I map out the various elements. The fairy herself got a head of pretty plum colored hair that compliments the orange and green combo in the scenery. All together they make up the tertiary part of the color wheel which creates a naturally appealing color scheme. Because I'm busy working on new images for upcoming releases, there won't be a new series this week. Instead I hope to get something filmed for the the following Thursday. Until then, I hope you've enjoyed this fun scene and all of the rest of the videos that can be found on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel.

Toodles!  :)

Fae-bruary Fairies...

Good morning!

We wrapped up Fae-bruary at Sweet November Stamps over the weekend, ending the Instagram and Facebook challenges that had run all month long. The prizes for all those who completed each challenge are two brand new fairy digis that will be exclusive to participants until next February, when they get added to the store for everyone else to purchase. The prize for our Instagram participants is Fairy Petal Prim and the prize for Facebook participants is Fairy Cecily.

I colored Fairy Petal Prim, with her wild hair and mischievous grin, during my Live Saturday morning over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. The fiery red hair that we gave her totally adds to her sassy look and compliments the pretty purple gown that was suggested. In the background the Cozy Fall Critters Tree house makes the perfect home for Petal Prim and really adds to the overall story that I wanted to tell with this cutie.

The beautiful Fairy Cecily is resting atop a little mushroom, soaking in the Spring sunshine. With her long flowing hair and shy grin, she is the picture of loveliness. I paired her with a larger mushroom from the Toadstool Background Builder set then proceeded to color in a pastoral scene stretching out behind Cecily and her fairy ring of mushrooms.

Well, I hope that everyone enjoyed the Fae-bruary challenges and I can't wait to see these sweet fairies start popping up on all of your amazing cards!

Later gators!

A Fairy Good Friend...

Hello again!

We are having another review weekend of the Fab Favorites clear release at Sweet November Stamps and this time I paired one of the cuties from the Fairwee Readers set with some flowers from the older Enchanted Spring Flowers set. Instead of using the book that comes in the set, this time I thought it would be sweet if this fairwee was simply enjoying time spent with her little ladybug friend. So I did some masking to stamp them really close together then added the spring flowers directly behind them. I filmed the coloring of this scene so if you are interested in watching you can catch the short Reel over on my Instagram or watch the longer speed coloring version on the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel. Oh and don't forget to join me Live this morning at 11am PST on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page where we will enjoy some more fairy fun.  ;)

See ya there!

Congratulations on your new arrival...

Hello friends!

I'm up on the Blogabella with a brand new Scenic Saturday card to share. I found myself drawn to another one of the super cute baby themed stamps that are part of the latest Spring release, this time it was the Delivery from the Stork stamp that got inked up.

Rather than create a card that leaned into the soft pinks and blues of most baby cards I couldn't wait to take advantage of the story telling potential of this adorable image. So I colored a roof beneath the stork's feet to make it appear as if he's arrived at his destination. I then added the abstract skyline of an urban city stretching off into the distance, broken up here and there by a few tall tree tops. I started with the buildings that are farthest away, sketching them in using the lightest greys and blue violets, then built up each layer with slightly darker colors until we get to the scene in the foreground. This light to dark method is called aerial perspective and it is a simple way to achieve a sense of distance in a landscape. ring. Like a scene out of a cartoon, you can just imagine the couple inside the house excited to receive their little bundle of love. The sentiment is again another one from the new Baby Sentiment set and the green of the tree behind helps to pull focus to the message amidst the busyness of the rest of the scene.

Stay crafty my friends!

Happy St. Patrick's Day...

TGIF my friends!

The February Sweet November Stamps newsletter mailed out last night, a little later than usual, but we wanted to be able to include all four of the Fae-bruary Fairy digis that were released this month. Along with all of the enchanting fairies there is also plenty of inspiration from our amazing design team featuring all of the new stamp sets from the Fab Favorites clear release that dropped this month as well. So much good stuff was added to the store and 2025 has only just begun... I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot more to get excited about this year. As always, we closed out the newsletter with a free digi for all newsletter subscribers and if you were a fan of the peeking characters this past Christmas then you are sure to love the new Leprechaun Peekers. This trio of lucky leprechauns have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, with a little help from that four leaf clover. I hope you enjoy bringing a bit o' Irish charm to your card making with these cuties as our thanks to all of our fantastic friends of Sweet November.

Have a great weekend!
