Oceans of love...

TGIF!

It's been a long while since I've participated in an MFT sketch challenge and since I really wanted to ink up the new Oceans of Love set by Rachelle Anne Miller I figured it wouldn't hurt to check it out. I was sold as soon as I saw that the sketch looked like a bunch of waves flowing across the card... talk about perfect! So I set about stamping and masking everything into place. There are so many cute accessory stamps in this set and I'm pretty sure I used them all on this card, LOL! I then began coloring in the background, breaking the wavy sections into four parts... one of sand at the bottom then three sections of water graduating from dark to light as they move up the card. I did end up moving the placement of the sentiment from the bottom right to the upper left because I had more empty space up there, but otherwise I followed the sketch pretty faithfully. And just like that I had a super cute card ready to send out.  :)

Have a great weekend!

Little moments...

Good morning!

I've never seen a firefly in real life though there is something about them floating lazily in an evening sky that is just so iconically summer. I recently added this sweet RAM Firefly Friends stamp from My Favorite Things to my collection and now seemed the perfect time to create a special card with it. I always enjoy images that provide an opportunity to play with a definite light source and that firefly in the jar was too good to resist. So I gave those cute kiddos plenty of glow and once the background was complete I used my colorless blender to push out little dots all around then filled them in with some FYG1 to make it look like the kids are surrounded by the little lightning bugs.

Ok, gotta run... hope your week is off to a great start!

Love you...

Hi friends!

I couldn't stay away from the cute digital images from Rachelle Anne Miller and this time around it was this sweet pair of owls that caught my eye. The stamp is called, Owl Be Your Friend and they are just way too cute all snuggled together on that tree branch. It seemed natural to make them into a Valentine's Day card so I paired them with an oversized die cut sentiment that I camouflaged into the background by using the silhouette technique of die cutting the sentiment repeatedly and gluing the layers all together so that the words are lifted slightly. The background was done using a mix of ink blending for the sky and Copic coloring on the landscape below. I think the end result is totes adorbs, LOL!    :)

A warm hug...

Hi friends!

I've been seeing so many cute cards being shared lately using adorable digital images from Rachelle Anne Miller that I just had to add a few to my collection too. I've always been a fan of cute snowmen, heck I have a whole Christmas tree dedicated to them, so when I saw this Snowman Hug digi I new it would be the first one I colored up. Aren't these two just darling? And even though they are part of the recent Christmas release I knew they could easily work for a simple friendship card as well. The hazy yellow background was totally inspired by a beautiful card Crissy Armstrong did last year and I think the subtle warmth of it totally suits these two frosty friends.  :)

Well, thanks so much for dropping by on this fine Sunday. Have a good one!
