G' Day Mates!

Ima Butterfly

Hello, hello!

Today kicks off March previews over at All That Scraps and we are starting with the newest Swiss Pixies by CC Designs. Considering the time of year, are you surprised that it's all about some springtime fun? ;)

For my card I absolutely couldn't wait to ink up little miss Ima Butterfly. Talk about amazing cuteness! I just love her pose and how it looks like she is trying to take off into the spring sky for a quick zoom around the garden. Rather than going with Easter-like pastels I instead thought that she would look smashing as a bright and happy daffodil... the quintessential spring flower if you ask me. And I even found these old silk daffodils in my stash to pull the look together. Then I finished the card off with one of the great new Spring Logo stamps that are being released this month too.

Making Wishes...

Hey there!

Are you ready to start a brand new week? This one is going to be chock full of new release previews from Tickled Pink, CC Designs and Sweet November here on the ol' blog. But first I've got one free day before all the hoopla begins to check another un-inked stamp off my list. :)

This little beauty didn't actually have to wait too long since I only just got her about a week ago. This is Wishes and she is one of the newest Nouveau Girls from Some Odd Girl. And bonus... she's a fairy too! I just love her so much and couldn't wait to get her on a card. When I started searching for just the right papers to to create her home I was lucky enough to come across this Once Upon a Springtime paper pad by Graphic 45. I say lucky because I really don't have much from Graphic 45... they just aren't my usual style. But I think it was the Nouveau inspired designs that appealed to me in the first place with this one. Talk about kismet. I don't think Wishes could have found a more perfect place to perch. I also played around with a different skin tone combo on her. It turned out very light and could probably use a bit more tweaking but it does fit the muted tones of the paper pretty well.

Hi friend

Olo!

So... ummm... yea... I recently made the mistake of starting on a book series and when that happens I kinda get a bit obsessed with reading at the expense of everything else I may have going on. This is especially bad when the books are awesome too, because it becomes so hard for me to pull myself away from whatever world I've become immersed in. Currently it is The Hunger Games trilogy that I'm a bit obsessed with. I got through the first book in a day and I'm only a third of the way through Catching Fire. I'm really loving this story but I'm trying very hard to be smart about my time management and not neglect everything and just read, read, read. I blame Pinterest and the upcoming movie release for peeking my interest because I always try to read a book before seeing the movie version. That way my vision and take on the characters and the world they inhabit aren't being influenced by Hollywood, which is way more enjoyable for me. Yes, you can add Book Nerd to my ongoing list of nerdy attributes, LOL! ;)

Why am I sharing all of this you may ask? Well, because I was trapped in Panem much of last night, I didn't leave myself a lot of time to make a card. So you know what I did? I flipped through a basket of past cards that either haven't sold or been sent off and found an oldie but a goodie that could use a slight image facelift. When I originally made this card, probably about three years ago, I was still using the not-so-great Georgia Pacific cardstock and the resulting coloring was definitely not up to my current standards. So I salvaged the perfectly good card and printed out a new Wryn from Tiddly Inks to replace the old image. I have to say that I think Wryn looks like she was supposed to be here all along. Quick, easy and nothing had to go to waste... love that!

Alrighty, I do have things I need to do today but no promises that I won't sneak in a couple chapters here and there. ;)

Hi folks!

I wish I could say that I'm enjoying a nice day off today but that's just not the case. As long as the day stays nice though, I'm not going to complain... I can still get into plenty of trouble after 5pm rolls around. ;)

So the card that I have to share today was kind of a quickie. This Woodland Lucy was the last of the CC Designs February release that had yet to see ink and I really wanted to remedy that situation. Isn't she just a total sweetie? I decided to do some masking and pair her up with an older garden wall stamp to sit on. The papers are from the new Country Picnic line by Pebbles and while they are all cute, the designs printed on the kraft background are to die for! After cutting into some of them for this card I'm SO tempted to go back for seconds on a few sheets... love them! Now if only Pebbles made 6x6 paper pads, life would be a little bit closer to perfect. :)

Good day sunshine...

T to the G to the I to the F!

Is March coming in like a lion for you too? Considering I'm starting off the month with cold and snow you had better believe that I"m hoping the old adage holds true and that 30 days from now spring will really, truly be here... just like a soft and sweet little lamb. :)

So I wanted to play along with this week's Flutter By challenge, which is open, and still keep within my personal challenge to ink up the neglected stamps in my stash. Can you believe that I had never used this beautiful Fairy Isabelle stamp before? Tsk, tsk... I feel like such a bad stamper! But I'm going to just tell myself that she was waiting for the perfect paper to come along, yea that's it. ;)
I did alter her just a bit though to help further tell the story that I wanted to with this card. All I did was stamp one of the dandelion puffs around her hand and drew in some closed fingers to hold it. Oh, and if you couldn't tell, I was playing around with that great YR27 again. It's in a different combination that gave me a more orange rather than golden finished look but it's still quickly becoming another fave hair combo I think.

Rainbow goodness...

Hello again!

So did you make the most of the leap day yesterday? I managed to get a few more things checked off the ol' to-do list and then relaxed a bit on the computer as I was avoiding the snow and cold. All in all not too shabby.

My card today may not use a stamp that I haven't colored up before but when I found Punk Kaylee's head all colored up from a hair coloring video I did way back in September and Flower Kaylee's body just waiting to be finished, I figured it was time to get her on a card. This combination of Kaylees brought to mind a free spirited artsy kind of gal so I ran with that theme on the rest of the card. I used the 'B' sides from a bunch of the Basic Grey Picadilly papers to create the rainbow colored background and then added the flower print below because it helped tie all of the different colors together. That was all looking fine and good but I decided to take the artsy theme a bit further so I printed out the sentiment and drew the painter's palette around it with the paint brush as a finishing touch. I think she looks pretty happy to have finally made it off the desk, LOL!
