My Wee Valentine...

Hello friends!

Today we've got the first digital stamp release of 2023 at Sweet November Stamps as we get ready for Valentine's Day card making. The collection is called My Wee Valentine and there are four new digital images that have been added to the store. In the shop you will find: Ryan and Molly, Edward and Vivian, Heath with a Heart and Rosie with a Rose.

For my first card I colored Ryan and Molly into a lovely spring day at the park. These two little love birds are enjoying a cuddle on the park bench I sketched in for them, blissfully wrapped up in each other's arms. If you are interested in watching this scene being colored you can find the short Reel over on my Instagram or there is also the longer speed coloring video that can be found on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel.

Next, I paired Rosie with a Rose and Heath with a Heart together into their own park scene. It looks like Heath is showering his sweetheart with all sorts of Valentine's gifts to win her affection. From the smile on her face it looks like it's working too.  ;)

Finally, Edward and Vivian are reuniting after too long apart and you can see the love between these two as she leaps into his arms. Of course I had to stick with my theme and give these two their own pretty park scene to inhabit.

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Wee Valentine romance from Caitlin, Faye, Allison, Amanda and Lisa. As well as our super talented guest designers Tania Cordie and Wendy Luschlowski. Don't forget, I will be coloring Live today at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!

You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!

You are like a snowflake...

TGIF!

I didn't have a lot of crafty time yesterday but I had more new stamps that I got for Christmas sitting on my desk that I wanted to get inky. My sister gifted me some of the extra large Gorjuss Girls from Santoro but doing all that coloring just wasn't going to be possible. That's when I got the idea to mask off the bottom of the card and only ink her from the neck up. The inspiration actually came from all of the large piles of snow in my own yard and I thought it would be kind of funny to have this Gorjuss Girl making her way through her own maze of the frozen white stuff. So I colored her head, masked it off and then used the Copic airbrush system to quickly add color to the sky before splattering "falling snow" all over using a toothbrush and Dr PH Martin's bleed proof white. I gotta admit that I'm pretty pleased with this solution to my time problem and think the card turned out pretty cute. :)

Ok then, see ya back here tomorrow for the first new digi release of the year from Sweet November Stamps.

Skating by to say hi...

Olo!

I was in the mood to color some of the Hello Bluebird cute kiddos yesterday so I pulled out my binder of winter and Christmas sets to see who wanted to come out and play. I landed on this trio of skating friends from the Skating Together set and figured the Nesting Mini Slimline dies would provide the perfect space for them to skate across. To add a bit of flair to the background I added the house, trees and snowman from the Frosty Littles set. Between you and me, I'm not-so-secretly hoping that HB makes a whole stamp set of those mini houses someday so we can create entire neighborhoods. Once the scene was all stamped up I went crazy with fun, bright colors on those kiddos. I love how they totally pop against the ice and snow. The simple typed sentiment was borrowed from the Winter Skate set and is the perfect finishing touch. :)

Alrighty, have a good one everybody!

You're snow cool...

Hey, hey!

I was a lucky girl this Christmas and Santa surprised me with some new stamps from Impronte d'Autore. I'm such a fan of their cute images and now I have even more to play with! First to get inked up is this fun snowboarder from the clear Polar Bears set. I love the energy and movement of this little dude and I couldn't wait to color him into a mountainside scene with fresh powder spraying out behind him. I used the Dr PH Martin's bleed proof white paint after completing all of the Copic coloring to create that spray of snow. Just look at him go!  ;)

Alrighty friends, talk at'cha later!

Get Well Soon...

Hello there!

I'm up with my first TGF blog post of 2023. When thinking about what kind of card to create for today my inspiration actually came from how many of my friends and family have been hit by the cold or flu viruses that were making their rounds through the holiday gatherings. Let's just say that my 'get well soon' stash of cards have been depleted. I'm also still working my way through the fabulous Anya Combo kit and this Anya looked to me like she could be wearing comfy jammies, making her perfect for this theme. I did use a baby wipe to remove the ink from the flower that is originally in her hair before stamping, then simply filled in the missing black outline using a Copic black multiliner pen before coloring. Yet again I went to the digital stamps to create a background scene for our sick Anya. The big comfy bed, sleeping kitty and window are all part of the Build-a-Bedroom digi set while the chair is from the Build-a-Nursery set and the book comes with Book Ian. Once I had all of the furniture arranged in Microsoft Word, I slapped a mask on Anya and ran the card front through my printer. I still didn't have everything I wanted to really make this look like Anya has been sick so I grabbed the retired Get Well Soon clear set and stamped the tissue box and medicine bottle onto the bed with the kitty. Now I was happy with the background. All that was left to do was get out the Copic markers and start coloring. I kept the color palette soft and muted so that the scene appears as soothing and relaxing as it can be. The little kitten even inspired me to add a cute kitty print to her jammies. If you ask me, it looks like Anya is on the mend... yeah!
Ok, thanks for popping in today. Stay safe and stay healthy out there.  :)

Friends like you are rare...

Good morning!

I found myself reaching for the Baby 'Bominable set once again as I still hadn't gotten this particular 'bominable on a card of his own yet. He is way too cute to make wait for the next holiday season to roll around, especially since the 'bominables are perfectly suited to any number of winter time cards. With the way he is looking up towards the sky I thought it would be cute to pair baby with some of the birds from the Snow Angels set and have them flying all around. For the background I colored them into a snowy birch tree forest with the morning sky warmly glowing off in the distance. I think it turned out really sweet but to be honest I've been feeling in a bit of a coloring rut lately, relying on the same kinds of backgrounds over and over. One of my goals this year is to push my art a bit more until I see some growth. :)

Later gators!

Happy New Year...

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm kinda finding it hard to believe that 2023 is here. Time feels like it is flying by so much quicker these days. I'm already doing my best to be better organized and I'm hoping to work on my tendency to procrastinate and then cram last minute. If I can manage that then maybe life will slow down a bit and feel less hectic. Fingers crossed on that one.

As for jumping back into my card making after the short end of year break, once again I am starting a new year with some adorable critters from Purple Onion Designs. Shirley and Sharon are originally holding a string of snowflakes between them but I didn't ink it up so that I could instead replace it with the small sentiment and color it as a banner. To give the rest of the card some New Year's flair I used the Confetti stamp and the Lights stamp to fill the space above. The color palette is a classic black and gold combo for the occasion and as always I had a lot of fun coloring the lights so they glow in the midnight sky.

Ok then, here's to a fantastic 2023 my friends!
