You are the happy to my holiday...

Hello friends!

I'm up on the Blogabella with a mix of old and new to create some serious Christmas cuteness for this week's Scenic Saturday. Tiny Townie Frida Loves Frosty is a Stamping Bella classic and it's been a few years since I've inked her up. To help set a frosty festive scene I grabbed the new Christmas Stories are the Best stamp and did the same selective inking trick that I did with the Tales from the Haunted Mansion stamp a couple months ago.

Because Frida and Frosty are quite large, I stamped them in the bottom corner of this A2 sized card front. I then masked them off before placing the Christmas Stories are the Best house high up in the opposite corner. By only applying ink to the house part of the stamp and omitting the stack of books that the original image rests on, it becomes a perfect backdrop rather than a focal point. The strategic placement of both stamps also creates a sense of scale between the two that successfully shows the distance between this cute pair of snow friends in the foreground and the warm and cozy home behind them. Traditional Christmas reds and greens pop prettily against the cool blue hues of the snow and sky and the small sentiment perfectly captures the story these two are telling.

Stay crafty my friends!

Special Delivery...

TGIF!

There are only a few days left to take advantage of the big Holiday Sale going on now
at Purple Onion Designs. Pretty much everything in the store is 25% OFF but only through Sunday, December 8th. So don't wait too much longer to check it out! Even the latest Stacey Yacula collection, Whispering Pines, the Chilliezgraphy by Pei Tofu and Friends Season's Greetings collection, the Winterwood collection from Holly Mabutas are all included in the sale.

My first card today features the adorable sledding duo from the Winterwood collection called, Dandy and Little Roo. They are flying down the snowy hillside on their toboggan, whizzing past the Snowy Forest trees that I masked and stamped behind them. Down in the opposite corner of this clean and simple scene I stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Time Sentiment set in a green ink to match back to the trees.

Next, we are back with more Whispering Pines cuties, specifically the little cocoa drinkers, Mack, the bear and Katie, the squirrel. For the background however, I dove deep into my stamp stash and found the perfect Cocoa Stand to go with them. Behind that I added the Frozen Pond Horizon to really bring home the cold and chilly landscape that these two are trying to stay warm in. The sentiment is from the Santa's Sentiments set and I really like how it references back to the sweetness of their hot cocoa.

Finally, I paired the super cute Happy Mail stamp, by Chilliezgraphy by Pei, with so many of the Vintage Postmark sets that have recently been updated and re-released in the store to create another faux postcard. There are stamps from the Vintage Postcard set, Vintage Postcard set Add-on, Vintage Seasonal Holiday Postmark set, and Happy Birthday Postmark set, all on this card. I also added a couple of the Little Packages to the 'stamp' up in the corner and the Street was stamped in a light grey ink to give just a hint of a background. The sentiment is one of the fun speech bubbles from the Holiday Blurbs 1 set.

Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

Have a magical Christmas...

 Hey there!

So, about a month ago we opened up the Sweet November Stamps Vault and brought back the original Christmas Fairwees that were first released way back in 2011. I colored Mia's Ornament during my Live over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page that weekend. Lots of different techniques went into this one, including using the Copic airbrush system with a stencil. The blue and green color palette has a great cold and wintery vibe while Mia's red hair helps her stand out as the star of the show. What a wonderful time we had bringing this magical Christmas scene to life.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Christmas Joy and Cheer...

Olo!

I am impatiently awaiting the upcoming Farmer's Market at The Greeting Farm on the 18th, so that I can get my hands on the exclusive Winter Anya that will be offered as an incentive to spend $50 or more. Marie has been doing this all year and I've been able to get Spring, Summer and Fall, so Winter will complete the collection. Because I still have a few weeks to wait, I thought it would be fun to give Fall Anya a Christmas make-over for my card today.  With her oversized pull-over and big cup of cocoa it was an easy transformation. Really, it just came down to surrounding her with Christmas decor, which was easy to do using some of the digi sets in the store. The chair and rug are from the Build-a-Living Room set while the fireplace and stockings are from the Christmas Day set. The laptop from the Laptop Anya set was placed on the chair so that it looks like Anya has taken a break from her online gift shopping to enjoy her warm cuppa. And as a cute finishing touch to this cozy holiday scene I even added the sleeping pup from the Build-a-Bedroom set, basking in the warmth of the fire. As cute as this turned out, I can't wait to see what the next Anya will look like!

Toodles!

Winter Wishes...

Hey, hey!

This bundled up bear from the Signs of the Season set at Sweet November was colored up Live during the release weekend over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. I paired him with the Birch Trees Horizon Lines for the snowy background and then added some of the cute birdies from the Bountiful Blessings: Thanks a Bunch set in the foreground. This gave me a reason to have fun creating dirt patches in the snow pack which always adds a bit of interest to a winter scene. The pretty purple hues in the sky and snow give this a nice early morning vibe and play beautifully with the dark reds and greens in the bear's outfit. Everything just came together so beautifully here making this card another example of why I so enjoy collaborating with my fellow crafty friends that join me during the Lives.  :)

Have a good one!
