Happy Thanksgiving...

Hi friends!

This cute holiday cook was the free digi in the October newsletter at Sweet November Stamps. If you missed the newsletter that's okay, the Time for Turkey digital stamp is also available for purchase in the shop. I chose to use her for a sweet Thanksgiving Day card, using a very earthy autumnal color palette throughout the scene. The oven and countertop in the background are part of the Build-a-Kitchen digi set at The Greeting Farm and they work perfectly with this sweet granny. A simple sentiment and a fun die cut frame are all I needed to complete this happy and homey card.  :)

Gobble, gobble...

Good morning!    

I'm pulling a quick flip from Christmas back to Fall with a funny Thanksgiving card using a stamp from the Autumn Greetings collection at Purple Onion Designs. The Thanksgiving is Here image has a fluffy pup running away with the turkey, who besides losing a few feathers, doesn't appear to be any worse for wear. To create the strip of text behind the pair, I masked them off as well as the space for the "gobble, gobble", then repeat stamped the words in three different ink shades. Once the words were on, I moved the mask to cover the words and then used the Copic airbrush system to color in the rest of the background. The warm, golden glow kind of reminds me of the inside of an oven, LOL! Anywho, this one really makes me chuckle and I had a lot of fun putting it together.  :)

The merriest season of all...

Hey there!

So, yesterday we introduced the new Season of Giving digi release at Sweet November Stamps and I hosted a Live coloring of some of the images over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. For this scene I had fun mixing and matching from the various sets, putting the grannie from the Grandparents set with the little girl from the Mother and Daughter set. Behind them I added the collection bucket from the Bell Ringer set and a light post from the older Light Pole and Accessories Background set. This left me with plenty of open space to hand color in a snowy park path for them to be walking together. It's a pretty simple background, with just a few sketchy pine trees but it was all we needed to create a convincing winter wonderland. Plus we got it all done right at the two hour mark that I always shoot for so I consider that a win, LOL! It was great shifting gears and jumping into Christmas, I can't wait for more holiday Lives to come!  :)

Season of Giving digi release at SN!

 

Hello friends!

Christmas has come to Sweet November Stamps with the new Season of Giving digi release! There are four pairs of Christmas characters out and about doing some Christmas shopping as well as a Storefront background. They all revolve around the Bell Ringer and his collection bucket, then we have the Mother and Daughter, Father and Son and the Grandparents. 

For my first card I've paired the Mother and Daughter with the Bell Ringer and Storefront. Mom is proudly watching on as her little girl is adding her quarter to the collection, doing her small part to help others this holiday season.

Next, Father and Son are out running holiday errands and walking the dog when they stop to add a bit to the local Bell Ringer's pail. I did film the coloring of these scene and if you are interested, there is a quick Reel over on Instragram where you can watch this all come together. 

Last, but not least, we have the Grandparents. This cute elderly couple are out shopping for the family while enjoying some quality time together. No matter how many Christmas seasons that they have seen, they still feel the magic in the air.
