Born to bloom...

TGIF!

Look who's on a roll with getting her stack of pre-stamped images whittled down, LOL! This time around I grabbed the adorable Grow Together Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things, that was not only stamped but also die cut already. As the scene was starting to come together I did end up masking her and adding in the fence from the BB Sunflower Sweetheart set. It's always a lot of fun bringing these simple characters to life by adding prints and patterning to their clothes and even changing up the hair a bit just through coloring choices. Here I turned her straight pigtails into a pair of rolled buns and flicked in some wispy bangs as well. I think she's such a cute way to usher in the official arrival of spring this year.  :)

Talk at'cha later!

Hug you...

TGIF!

Once again I needed something quick to color and this time I went to my binder of Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite Things, that has sadly been quite neglected lately. This cute Missing You Pure Innocence was perfect because with the window framing her I knew that the background could be added super fast with a brick wall stencil and the Copic airbrush system. The clean and simple design really lets that sweet face shine in the spotlight, which makes me happy.

Ok, I've gotta run... talk at'cha later!

A kiss and a wish...

Hello there!

I've been a fan of the sweet Pure Innocence stamps at MFT for years and I've been collecting them for just as long. Sadly I can probably count the number I've actually gotten on cards over the last couple years on one hand. That is just down right shameful I tell ya. So even though I don't necessarily make New Year's resolutions I do want to try and be more proactive about inking up as many, as yet unloved stamps that have been sitting in my stash, as I can this year. I wish I could say it was just the PI girls but the neglect is far reaching, LOL. You've gotta start somewhere though so here I go, trying to be more mindful of using what I have by inking up this Winter Kisses cutie and pairing her with the SY Flurry of Love background set. Isn't she a doll? I gave her a pretty aqua and berry combo with her outfit and then stamped the blowing kiss lines in Versamark ink and sprinkled them with white heat embossing powder so they would show up over her clothes. The cozy house and winter trees were stamped after I had her masked off, quickly creating a frosty winter world for her to live in. I used the BG70 and 72 Copic markers quite a bit in the sky and background and I really like how their grey tone really adds to the chilly feel of the overall scene.

Alrighty, I've got to get ready for my Live coloring later this morning at 11am PST. I will be playing with a mix of Hello Bluebird stamps on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. Stop by and say hi if you can! :)

Somebunny sweet...

TGIF to all of my Easter celebrating peeps!

The big weekend is upon us and I can't wait for that yummy ham dinner with my family on Sunday. Even though we don't have anyone hunting for eggs anymore I still look forward to enjoying eggs in all their forms, whether they be deviled, chocolate or candy coated... LOL! For my final Easter card this year I really wanted to ink up this darling Somebunny Sweet Pure Innocence that I got recently. And because it has been ages since I've played along in the MFT sketch challenge I took a look to see if I could make it work with the cutie I had just colored up and it did. The pastoral background that I colored in was totally inspired by the amazing Jane Allen, who is one of my personal coloring super heroes. All in all I think this card came together in a cute CAS way that makes me quite happy. :)

Easter blessings to you all!

Fun days...

TGIF my friends!

I'm wrapping up the week with a card that I've made for this week's sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things. I took some liberties with the sketch and shrank the circle elements way down so they were more embellishment than focal point. That's because I really wanted to fill most of the space with this adorable Jumping With Joy Pure Innocence and instead of jumping I have her playing in a big pile of leaves. I stamped and masked most of the leaves in a light colored ink so she would really pop against the softer, less distinct lines, then made sure to add a drop shadow in W4 to help ground her into the scene. I also used the cool new Whimsical Woodgrain background stamp and stamped it tone o n tone with some brown cardstock to stick with the whole outdoorsy, nature feel of the card. I gotta say, this was a lot of fun and it felt goo d to ink up a Pure Innocence after so long. :)

Take care and have a fab weekend!

My love...

Hi there!

It was a super busy weekend at work but I managed to find a couple hours to play in my crafty room yesterday and I wanted to make a card for this week's MFT sketch challenge. Because I didn't have a lot of time to devote to coloring I figured it was a good reason to grab my Pure Innocence binder and find a simple cutie to color up quickly. I chose this sweet Happy Mail stamp and it must be an older one because she isn't available in the MFT store anymore. I know I've had this stamp for years and for the life of me I can't remember if I've gotten her on a card before. If not, I'm really glad I got her on one now. I paired her up with some older Doodlebug papers and stickers to make a Valentine because the envelopes on that paper were just too perfect not to. :)

Well, thanks for dropping by today I hope your week is off to a great start!

Happy Easter...

Mornin' friends!

Yesterday I was feeling inspired to get a little crazy and experiment with my coloring of this sweet little Pure Innocence called My Easter Basket. The idea hit me that I could give her wider eyes just like I did for Oliver on this card or the Darling Sister on this card. So I set about giving her some pretty blue eyes for this cheery Easter card. To be honest I am on the fence about the results. While I think she turned out pretty darn cute there is something about the change that seems to detract from her original simple charm. Hmmm... I'm not saying I won't keep playing around with this idea but there is something to be said for enjoying these images just as they are too. The rest of the card is super simple with just a sheet of paper from the new Doodlebug Bunnyville paper pad providing both a beautiful background and the sentiment for the card as well.

Alrighty, I should get ready for work. Have a great week!  :)

Season's Greetings...

Hey there!

Well yesterday proved to be just as busy for me so once again I was in search of a quick to color image. Since it felt like it had been a while since I had inked up a Pure Innocence I decided to grab my MFT binder and see who caught my eye. This sweet Angel was just begging to make it on to a card and boy did she color up fast. I did do a quick alteration by extending the length of Angel's hair with a Copic multiliner and I love the elegance it adds to her over all look. Once again the papers are a mix of random scraps and while the color combo isn't traditional red and green it still looks pretty and festive to me. And since I saved so much time on coloring I did have some fun with my dies to embellish the rest of the card. :)

Ok, have a great day everybody, I'll talk at'cha later!

Fallin' for you...

Good morning!

I got this super sweet new Pure Innocence cutie in the mail last week called Thankful Friend, and I really wanted to get her on a card. So before I got started I decided to check out the MFT challenge blog to see if there was anything to play along in. This week's sketch totally caught my eye and provided my with just the inspiration I needed to put this card together. I found this super old scrap of paper in my stash that had a soft watercolor look to it so I tried to keep my Copic color palette soft too. I also pulled out a bunch of dies too which is always great. I have quite a few at this point and I always feel like I don't utilize them as much as I should.

Alrighty, time for me to get a move on. Talk at'cha later!  :)

Oh happy day...

Olo!

It's been a while since I've joined the fun over at the MFT challenges so my card today is remedying that situation. The layout of this week's Wednesday sketch challenge really caught my eye and got the creative juices flowing. So I pulled out Wish You Were Here Pure Innocence and got to coloring. I did a bit of altering to lengthen her hair and give her a slightly older look but she's still as sweet as can be. I used colorless blender and a terry cloth rag to give her sweater a soft fuzzy look and a bit of denim on her jeans for texture as well. Her puppy pal is actually from the Woof You set and I altered him as well by just drawing in a shorter snout so he looked less like a beagle. A fun bit of old leaf paper by Imaginisce pulls the whole scene together, and looking at it makes me want to go pull out all my sweaters now, LOL!  ;)

Alrighty, thanks for so much for stopping by and I shall see you all tomorrow! :)

Sunny disposition...

Hi guys!

Today I am back to playing along in the MFT sketch challenge. It has been awhile and even longer since I inked up a Pure Innocence cutie so I was excited to pull out my MFT binder of stamps and have some fun. I settled on Sunflower Girl, who appears to be retired because I couldn't find her in the MFT store. As much as I love the Pure Innocence girls as-is, lately I've been enjoying changing up their look just a bit by simply altering their hair. This time around I lengthened it with only a few strokes of the pen... what a difference! What can I say, it's the little things that keep things fun and exciting in my creative process. ;)

Ok, well thanks for stopping by and I shall see ya manana!

Dog-gone sweet...

Hi-ya folks!

I'm playing along in this week's sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things with a new Pure Innocence cutie that I just got my hands on. She's called Woof You and I couldn't wait to ink her and her puppies right up. I did a bit of altering to simply lengthen her pigtails which I think makes her look a bit older. The papers all come from the newer Homegrown paper pad by Pebbles which I chose because now she seems to be going for a neighborhood walk with her puppy pals.

Ok, I've got to make a run to the supermarket this morning because I've got to bake a German Chocolate cake for my sister's birthday today. Mmmm... my mouth is already watering just thinking about it. LOL

Talk at'cha later!

On its way...

Hello again!

It rained all day yesterday so I spent a lot of time in the ol' crafty room. I should have been cleaning it up a bit but instead I made more of a mess. But that's ok 'cause I was in the creative groove which felt great. :)

I broke my streak of only using scrap papers on this year's Easter cards but when I saw this cute new paper from Bella Blvd I had to get a couple sheets. I love their prints but I still wish they would make them available in 6x6 pads for us card makers. I guess I'll just keep hoping for that to happen but in the mean time I'm not going to not get the 12x12.
So I made today's card using the MFT sketch 219 challenge. I flipped the original design but the basics are all there. And I chose the I'm All Ears Pure Innocence cutie to be the star of the show. But I couldn't leave her alone for this one, nope, she needed pigtails to mimic those bunny ears. So I grabbed a Copic multi-liner and drew in a few simple lines to lengthen her hair. Pretty cute if I do say so myself. ;)

Okey dokey, I'm off to work this morning.
Have a great Monday everybody!

Peeps...

Olo!

When I saw Color Challenge #16 over on the MFT challenge blog I knew I had the perfect paper scraps to work with the purple/green/yellow/brown combo. This older Doodlebug paper is so whimsical and I think it works great for a sweet Easter card featuring an even sweeter Pure Innocence cutie. At first I thought I was using a stamp that hadn't been inked up yet but when I looked up the Easter cards I made last year there she was... One of My Favorite Peeps Pure Innocence. Not only that but I had paired her with Doodlebug paper then too, LOL! Luckily, the colors and designs are so different that it gives her a whole new feel. In general I don't use a lot of purple and after putting this card together I'm thinking I need to remedy that situation because it is quite lovely.

Well, I've got the day off today and a big to-do list that starts with a much needed hair cut appointment this morning. So I'll see ya tomorrow then! :)

Here for you...

Hey there!

I'm running behind this morning so this is gonna be a speedy post. I'm playing along in the MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge 217 and I used this sweet I Pick You Pure Innocence for my card. Because she is holding that lovely bouquet of flowers, I chose to pair her up with the Garden Party papers from Pebbles. Cutting those pretty papers into the banners from the sketch was a breeze since I used the stitched flag dies from MFT as well. Quick and cute, nuthin' wrong with that. ;)

Alrighty, I've really got to get moving.

Love is in the air...

Hey there!

Can you believe I didn't find a single thing to buy at the crafty store yesterday?! It's not like I went in with anything specific in mind but still, talk about disappointing. I always hope to find a little somethin' that might inspire a card or two but no such luck. Oh well, I guess it just gives me an excuse to go back and check again in a month or so.

Today I've got a card for the sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things. Of course I made another Valentine because hey, it's just that time of year. This go round I chose to ink up Love is in the Air Pure Innocence and paired her with paper from the Simple Stories Hugs and Kisses collection. I even did a bit of paper piecing with her shirt to really pull the whole thing together. I stayed pretty true to the sketch and even used an MFT stitched scallop border die to cut the bottom of the center panel exactly like the sketch inspiration. I also pulled out the white embossing powder for my sentiment which made me feel extra crafty, LOL! All in all, another cute and quick card that I am quite happy with.  :)

Ok, time for hair and make-up.
Toodles!

Ruff time...

Hello again!

Well thanks to Carisa, I've got another challenge to play along with as she directed me to the MFT weekly challenge blog. This week we are to follow a sketch which was just the jumping off point that I needed. I flipped through my binder of Pure Innocence stamps and came across Puppy Girl. I've had this sweet stamp for some time but I can't honestly remember if she's been inked up yet or not. Heck, I couldn't even find her in the MFT store anymore. In either case I really enjoyed coloring her up to match these new October Afternoon papers that I recently got... that cloud print is a particular favorite of mine. For some reason the warm colors in the papers had me thinking beagle when it came time to color her little pup and I think he's not looking half bad if I do say so myself. I stayed pretty true to the sketch which made this another quick and easy card.

Alrighty time for me to jet.

Hello...

Hello, hello!

Today should be a pretty uneventful day off for me. Smokey has a vet appointment for vaccination shots this morning but other than that not much is happening. The weather has been so grey and blah all week that I'm looking forward to some more time in the crafty room. It's going to be a long slog getting it back into tip top shape so any little bit of cleaning and organizing helps.

My card today uses the Will You Be Mine Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things. I altered her just a bit by giving her a long sleeved shirt but that's it. I've been anxious to use that 'hello' paper ever since I went a bit crazy and got like three sheets of it. But come on, how perfect is it for card making? The sweet envelopes and sentiment come from the Sending Happy Thoughts set by Simon Says and I think they compliment this little PI cutie perfectly. :)

Alrighty then, I outta here. Catch ya on the flip side.

Favorite Peeps...

TGIF everybody!

It looks to be an Easter kind of day here on the ol' blog. As I've been munching on some delish Jolly Rancher jellybeans lately I was inspired to use this jellybean printed paper from Doodlebug's spring collection. Then I just needed a cute little character stamp to pair up with it and could hold its own against that busy pattern. I settled on this sweet Pure Innocence that I've actually had since last year. She's called, One of my Favorite Peeps, and I can't believe it took me this long to ink her up. Her dress is paper pieced and I fussy cut those chicks out of the paper as well because they were just too adorable not to add to the fun. :)

All in all, a simple Easter card but hopefully it keeps my creativity flowing so I have more to share here. Ok, time to get myself ready for another day of work.
Take it easy peeps!  ;)

Very merry...

Mornin' friends!

So I've actually had this card done for a couple days now but I just couldn't find the time to get on the computer and get it posted. Thankfully I have today off to play catch up and I'm starting with a bit of blogging. :)

I told you that I would be jumping into Christmas cards and this one features a new Pure Innocence cutie called Happy Christmas. I picked her up last week and had also just gotten this Merry Little Christmas paper pad by Fancy Pants and thought she was a nice fit with this great tree print. I decided to take the whole tree theme a step further when I spotted this sentiment stamp that was already in the shape of a tree too. I really like how it blends right into the design, which is a simple one, but there's nothing wrong with that. I've gotta say, going through my Christmas stash and getting some of this year's new Christmas goodies has got me thinking about loading up my ipod with Christmas tunes already. I know it's early but I can't help it... I loves me some Jingle Bell Rock while I'm getting my crafting on. ;)

Okey dokey then... thanks for stopping by and hey, enjoy that extra hour if you got to 'fall back' today too.
