This past holiday season we released the Christmas Merwees digi collection at Sweet November Stamps. At the time I mentioned that a lot of the images could be repurposed into birthday cards just by choosing different colors. Now with the recent release of the clear Merwee Party stamp set, it is even easier to do a bit of mixing and matching to really expand the types of under the sea birthday scenes you can create. I already had the cute McCallister and Kate already printed out with the cave opening from the Ocean Background Builder set so all I had to do was mask off Kate and the walls of the cave before stamping the kelp and jellyfish banners across the opening. This simple addition really ups the whole party atmosphere, especially when combined with the bright and cheery color palette.

Hello again!

I'm here with a quick post to finally share this card that I colored up Live last month for the May Flowers digi release at Sweet November Stamps. This pretty gal is Mary Kate with her beautiful bouquet of roses and daisies. As you can see, we ended up playing with a whole kaleidoscope of colors and even added a playful floral print to her ruffled top. For the background I did my best to create a bokeh type effect in the trees behind her. All in all another fun and hopefully informative coloring session.

You make life a little cooler...

Hello friends!

As the weather heats up the urge to find a cool body of water to jump into becomes mighty strong, just ask Skip and Hazel from the new Amongst the Pines collection at Purple Onion Designs. Hazel is the cute little mouse on the tire swing and I thought it would be fun to create a scene where she is playfully swinging out over the shore of a lake. So once I had her and the tree stamped on the card stock I masked them off and stamped the Woodland Horizon behind them. Next, I grabbed the older Rocky Shore stamp and partially stamped some rocks down in the bottom right corner of the card. Once I masked the rocks I stamped Skip, the diving beaver  just behind them to add another friend and more depth to the scene. Then all that was left was for me to grab my Copic markers and start coloring everything in, starting with the water for the lake. With that done, all that was left was to add a sentiment from the Great Outdoors Sentiment set to complete this cute summer card.  :)
