Hello there!
It's time for another Scenic Saturday post over on the Bellarific blog. Now that Halloween has come and gone I am all about the Christmas cards and some of my favorite Christmas cuties this year are the very special Bundle Girls. There is just something about these cozy cuties that give me all the feels and they easily lend themselves to some of the most emotive scene cards that I've made. Bundle Girl with Reindeer took me back to my childhood as soon as I saw this sweet pair because it totally reminded me of the old movie, Prancer that I remember watching during a grade school Christmas party. The rest of that year I wished I could befriend a magical reindeer too, LOL! Just looking at the love between these two I knew I wanted to create a background that would really shine the light of that love right on them. So I kept my color palette for the background rather drab, using markers with a grey undertone to them for the sky and pine trees. Then I made sure to only add a few dramatic shadows being cast out from each of the characters, leaving the majority of the snow around them stark white. As a result you can see how it almost glows around them, creating a halo effect. The super dark tree in the foreground acts as a sort of frame and the punch of bright red on each of our characters adds the final touch in pulling the focus right to the heart of this card.
I hope this inspires you to pull out a handful of markers and play with the effects of light and shadow on your next Bella creation. Stay crafty my friends!

The Marshmallows to My Cocoa...
Hello friends!
I'm on the Greeting Farm blog with a warm and cozy Christmas card today. I've been saving this cutie from the Mini Remix Friend set for a fun holiday card just like this. As I was looking through my binder of TGF stamps I found the perfect background builders for her in this year's Simon Says Stamp exclusive Greeting Farm Stamptember set, To All of You. The fireplace and Christmas tree were just the right size to set a festive scene for this smaller Anya. I love it when I can mix and match sets like this! With just a bit of masking I had Anya all ready to settle in for a lazy evening sipping cocoa in front of a roaring fire and you just know the Christmas tunes are playing too. ;)
Talk at'cha later!

Wishing you joy...
Hey there!
There are so many great new holiday stamps in the newest release from Dreamerland Crafts that I couldn't wait to ink up another fun image and get it on a card. This time I grabbed Wishing You Joy because I just love this sweet couple as they make their way through the snow. As I pictured their surroundings I saw them making their way through a birch forest with a pretty sunset glow shining down on them. I also grabbed a couple cute bunnies from the previously released Staying Dry and Winter Outdoor Activities are so Much Fun stamp sets to add a bit of whimsy to the scene. Then to change things up a bit I thought it would be pretty to add a strip of glitter along the bottom edge of my card using scor-tape and loose glitter. While I do think it turned out pretty I remember now why I rarely use loose glitter... I just can't seem to get it all cleaned off my desk, LOL!
Anywho, time for me to scoot. Have a good one!

Happy, merry, joyful...
Hello friends!
I had fun getting creative yesterday and putting together a Christmas scene using a mash up of Stacey Yacula stamps from both Purple Onion Designs and My Favorite Things. I'm such a fan of Stacey's sweet folk art type style of stamps and I kinda can't believe it took me this long to mix my rubber stash with the MFT clears. First I grabbed Elwood the elf from POD and paired him with the Christmas tree, and ornament box from the Merry Wishes set and the tiny penguin from the Holiday Penguins set, both from MFT. And to finish off the scene I added the Home Sweet Home horizon from POD into the background I gotta say, I couldn't be any happier with how they all look together and I can't wait to see what other scenes I can come up with now! :)
Have a good one!

Warm Wishes...
Hello, hello!
I'm back with another guest DT card for Hello Bluebird's holiday release that is now available in the HB shop. This time around I've inked up the darling Cocoa Party critters and masked them together into a tight knit group of forest friends who have gathered together to stay warm on a cold winter day. The oversized sentiment is the new Warm Wishes word die that was also part of the recent release and I jazzed it up a bit by stamping the Old Oak background onto kraft cardstock before I die cut it. Once it was glued to my card I also added some of the Nuvo chalk white stone drops to the tops of each letter to create the appearance of snow accumulating on the sentiment. I think it all comes together to create a frosty and festive holiday card full of warmth and good cheer. :)
Toodles!

Wishing You...
Good morning!
The new holiday release from Dreamerland Crafts has recently begun hitting the shelves and I am excited to start sharing some of the cards I've done for this release. There are so many great new images that it made it very hard to choose which one to ink up first. In the end I simply had to create a fun, dashing through the snow, scene with this cutie plowing through the fresh powder. You just know she is rushing to get her Christmas tree home and all decorated for Christmas. The stamp set is called Wishing You and Your Family and the sentiment I used on this is included in the set as well. I paired these cuties with a background stamp from the older Shopping Makes Me Happy set to help set the scene of them driving through town. It looks like a few inches of freshly fallen snow isn't going to slow down these holiday festivities!
I know that 7 Kids is expecting their shipment of new Dreamerland stamps any day now so keep an eye on the store for even more Christmas goodness!
Later gators!

Very Merrwee Christmas day 2!
Hello again!
We were having a jolly good time celebrating the November Very Merrwee Christmas release from Sweet November Stamps over in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group yesterday. These two festive cards are the results of the Live coloring videos that I did, the first one features Santa doing a little rooftop dance with Dasher and Dancer.
The second card features the adorable Noe elf along with Chrissy the Christmas Mouse and the Room Corner background bundle from last year's November release.
My final coloring videos for this release are today at 11am PST and 3pm PST and the Mega Bundle Deal is good until tomorrow morning... so there is still a lot going on and I hope we see you there! :)
