Hey there!

It's time to kick off previews for the June release at The Greeting Farm! If you fell in love with the quirky little Minkie character that was introduced last month then get ready to double the fun because today we are showcasing the new Minkie #2 set. Being on the small side these little stamps are perfect for planners and journals as well as a variety of cards. The set includes nine different Minkies that work great alone, together or mix and matched with the previous set. For my card today I was drawn to this sweet singing musician who looked to me like she was performing on a beach in Hawaii. I found a pretty paper in my stash that had that same vibe and then colored her into a serene ocean side sunset. I then grabbed some flowers to match and added the sentiment from the Aloha kit to finish this card off.

More than unicorns...

Good morning! 

So I was enjoying a crafty day at my pal Tracey's last week and we thought it would be fun to pull out our sets of the Unicorn Tales stamps from Hello Bluebird and give them a play. We also both had new Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence to try out so Tracey encourages me to forego the colored background scene and go for some ink blending instead. I have yet to master the fabulous ink blends I see on so many cards out there so this made me a bit nervous, but it is good to shake things up now and then so I grabbed my blender brush and some pretty pink oxide inks and went for it. I gotta say, those blender brushes totally live up to their name... the results are SO much smoother than anything I've done with the old Time Holtz sponge blenders. Once that was done it was all about coloring and die cutting the rest of the elements for the card, heck, I even used vellum! LOL I actually had so much fun creating this that the next day when I sat down to make the Rabbit Hole mermaid card that I shared on Friday I pulled out my brushes and inks once again. Now this doesn't mean I'm abandoning my scene coloring by any means but it is nice to have something else to play with and keep things fresh, so thank you Tracey for dragging me out of my box, I can't wait for you to share your unicorns too! :)

Something sweet...

Hello!

I'm back today with another Scenic Saturday card for the Bellarific Blog. Rising temps and rising lake levels mean summer has arrived in my neck of the woods so I decided to pull out my Little Bits collection and put together a fun summer time beachy scene. This cutie from the Ice Cream and Lemonade set caught my eye, mostly because that triple scoop waffle cone was looking quite delish, LOL! So I did a bit of masking, stamping the ice cream cone first, masking it, then stamping the bathing beauty over top so that when I pulled the mask away she was now enjoying that frozen treat. I also borrowed some scene building accessory stamps from the Sandcastle set and the sand dunes from the Umbrella set to complete this sweet scene. I don't know about you but summer time cards are some of my favorite to make, I just love all the bright, fun colors and the variety of scenes that your characters can be living in. Today we went to the beach, who knows where the stamps will take us next time!

Make waves...

TGIF!

I'm excited to be using a new to me stamp company on my card today. I spotted this little mermaid being sneak peeked on Instagram last week and I just had to have her. So I placed my first order with The Rabbit Hole Designs and inked her up as soon as I ripped open my package, LOL! Because I've also been itching to ink up this Sea Air Flora stamp set that I got at the end of last summer from Papertrey Ink I decided to switch gears and do an inked background rather than coloring one in with my Copics. This was seriously more nerve racking for me than diving in to color a scene! But I'm glad I took this vacation outside my comfort zone because I do think it works beautifully with the stamped coral and seaweed that I die cut and added below. In the end I have a happy CAS card with a mermaid who is just as sweet as can be... hooray for new stamps! :)

Hi friends! 

It's my day over on The Greeting Farm blog today and I am revisiting the Minkie #1 set from the May release. This quirky little gal may be small in size but she is big on emotions. Being on the small side these little stamps are perfect for planners and journals as well as a variety of cards and this card is one I think most all of us card makers can really relate to. What we do is all about sending a smile to someone we love through the post and this little Minkie totally encapsulates the joy of getting something fun in the mail. I reinforced the whole happy mail theme with the primary color scheme and the background full of envelopes so this is sure to bring to mind the anticipation of waiting on a package.

Hello crafty friends! 

7 Kids has recently added a brand new stamp company to the store and Evelin T Designs has some super cute sets in their first release. Being the crazy cat lady that I am, I couldn't resist adding this darling Sneaky Kitties set to my collection. And of course I pulled my inspiration from my actual crazy kitties, yes, yes... I have an affinity for black cats, LOL! It was fun coloring them all into this lush garden and I even added some Nuvo crystal drops as little buds or berries for extra color. :)

Mermaid at heart...

Hey there! 

Guess who was going through her mermaid stamps yesterday and realized that this beauty from Whimsy Stamps had yet to get on a card? Well of course I had to remedy that by stamping her up immediately! She is part of the Let's Be Mermaids set and there is just so much joy in this little mermaid, you can't help but smile when you look at her. I used a bunch of the great accessory stamps that come in the set too to build the scene along with some mermaid silhouette stamps from the Sweet and Salty set. The sentiment is one that especially resonates with me as I still fantasize about what it would be like to live a life beneath the waters. ;)
