I made a New Year's resolution to start my own Facebook page in 2020 as a place to share my love of Copic coloring and card making. I know, I know... I'm always late to the game. But I finally dove in and did my first Live coloring on my Adventure's In Coloring with Amy page yesterday afternoon. Because I have a space where I can use whatever I want whenever I want, I chose to color up this cutie from Some Odd Girl. You see, Some Odd Girl is celebrating their 10 year anniversary this month and since I've been a long time fan of Kristy and her art I thought it would be nice to join that celebration and share the SOG love. Plus I've had this general idea to try for a card scene and this little cutie suited it perfectly.
This digi stamp is Tia and Fluffy, Fluffy being the cat that I cropped out of the scene before printing so that I could color an ipad in its place. My goal being to create a modern Valentine scene of Tia face timing with her sweetheart late into the night. This gave me the opportunity to really play with light and shadow in my coloring of the scene and I love that kind of challenge. Sure I see places where I could have gotten smoother blends with a bit more time or parts that I would make darker and add more contrast on the next time I try a similar scene but all in all this comes pretty darn close to capturing the scene I envisioned in my mind and that makes me a very happy girl. ;)
Now if you haven't checked out the Some Odd Girl blog post explaining all the goings ons, including a 25% OFF SALE and FREEBIES, hop on over there and take a read!
