I'm back with another Scenic Saturday card to share over on the Bellarrific Blog. While the Covid 19 pandemic continues to turn all of our worlds upside down I find these strange new days effecting my crafting in various ways. One of the bright sides of currently being laid off from work is that I sure get a lot more coloring done. But when I sit down to stamp and create I can't always shake reality and it starts influencing the kinds of cards I find myself making. Take today's scene where we find Curvy Girl with a Message on her apartment balcony yelling out for everyone to just STAY HOME! The extra large sentiment was printed on the card stock from my computer before I stamped her and began coloring. By doing a close up shot of Curvy Girl with a Message on her balcony a little more than half of the card front becomes the brick exterior, which lends to the rather claustrophobic feel of sheltering in place for so long. Then I made sure to use lighter, brighter colors on the interior of her apartment along with subtle nature prints hanging on the wall to represent that breath of fresh, clean air we all long for. Creating topical cards like this becomes a great way to work through all of my fears and feelings through this creative hobby we all love. I hope any extra time you have these days is more time for crafting too.
