Just keep swimming...

Hey there!

Yesterday I couldn't turn off the news all day. My heart hurts so much right now. To say that I wasn't in much of a crafty mood would be an understatement. Still, there came a point when I just had to turn off the TV for a bit and work through all of the different emotions that are filling me up right now and since coloring is very therapeutic for me I made myself sit down at my craft table and color. I didn't have it in me to stamp up a scene but luckily I tend to have a little stack of stamped scenes waiting for me on my desk that I can pull from. This sweet, simple scene was inked up weeks ago using just a handful of the smaller stamps from the recent Sunshine Lake release at Purple Onion. I paired the Cat Tails with one of the rocks from the Rock set then stamped little Coral three times to make a trio of ducklings swimming by. My original plan was for a much brighter and cheerier card but yesterday I needed soft and quiet. So I colored in a very hazy background using a limited color palette of very light markers. I like how it really pushes the little flock of ducklings into the foreground. The sentiment is positive and encouraging because hopefully we can all keep moving forward into a better future for all of us.

Take care my friends, let's be better about being kind to each other. ♥

Amy it has hurt my heart as well. Actually my heart has been hurting before this, because of all the political hatred going back and forth between Republicans and Democrates.Every time you log onto any social site you see the hatred and divide.
When did our nation start being either R or D.. why can't we be just 1?
Why do we have to be Black or White? why can't we be just 1?
There are good and bad in all of us. When did the bad start outweighing the good? What kind of example are we setting for our younger generation.
I believe they are the ones, right now, setting an example for us!
As you said..Let's be better about being kind to each other.

I find colouring very therapeutic too. Love the way the pale background pushes the ducks out of the page. It is beautiful

I think your card reflects the perfect balance of a bit somber, muted tones with a bit more vibrant ones. And I think your sentiment is perfect for this time. It is hard not to feel emotional at a time like this. I, too, hope we can all come together and find our common ground. Hugs to you and all around you.

This is precious and quiet at the same time. I haven’t been able to pull away from CNN for days and days now, starting with COVID19 and then the murder of George Floyd. Thank you for your words and your beautiful picture. Hugs.
