Love and joy...

TGIF my friends!

I realized the other day that it has been much too long since I last grabbed out my binder of  Dreamerland stamps and colored one up. So to remedy that sad situation I flipped through that binder until this sweet stamp caught my eye. It is called Thank You For Such Great Help and it just hits me in the feels. It's always amazing how so much emotion can be captured in a few simple lines. Then, sitting down to color these cuties, I feel a bit of pressure not to overdo it and lose the original magic of the image. So to that end I decided to keep the background simple and fairly monochromatic, pulling icy greens and teals to hint at a polar night. Then just a pop of red here and there to draw the eye in. It is definitely one of my most CAS scenes but I think it works with these two quite nicely. :)

Ok, I gotta get ready for work... enjoy the weekend everybody!

Special delivery...

Olo!

So I was coloring Live for the second day in a row yesterday and this time it was all about the cute critters from Purple Onion Designs. The new The Sweetest Little Town collection by Stacey Yacula offers a whole host of adorable critters all bundled up for the winter weather and taking part in various holiday activities as well as a number of amazing background builder stamps to help you bring their world to life on your Christmas cards. For this card I paired the Covered Bridge with Flannel, the raccoon and Timothy, the sweet little hedgie, to create this scene. I like to think it is Christmas morning and Flannel is heading home with presents in tow for his family and friends and along the way tiny Timothy is there to greet him with his own gift. :)

As I've mentioned previously, Purple Onion gives you the freedom to order from these collections a la carte, which is awesome but if you are someone who 'suffers' from Full Set Syndrome like myself then there is still time to take advantage of the 30% OFF discount when you order the complete Sweetest Little Town collection. This promotion will only be available until Sunday, November 15th so if you are thinking about treating yourself to some new rubber don't wait too long!

Toodles!

A cup of Christmas cheer...

Hey friends!

Yesterday I did an impromptu Live coloring of the new Frosty Mornings set of stamps that just released at Hello Bluebird which also happens to be the current promotional going on right now. While supplies last, once you have $100 worth of product in your cart (before shipping) just add the Frosty Mornings set to your cart and use the code HOLIDAY2020 to get the set added to your order for FREE. This sweet set definitely leans more towards a fall theme but in my video you can see how I took these two caffeinated besties and made them work for a fun Christmas card. All it took was adding a sentiment from the older Cocoa Party set and coloring in a snowy background. After the video ended and I was putting my card together I also wound up grabbing the Merry Greeters set and added a sprig of holly to the little gal's cap, which upped the Christmas vibe a notch too. So these girls are really quite versatile on top of just being super fun to color. ;)

Alrighty then, well I will be coloring Live once again this morning at 11am PST on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. This time around I will be using some of the cute critters from the new Sweetest Little Town release at Purple Onion Designs.

Hope to see ya there!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Hello!

I'm back with another adorable Christmas card using stamps from the new The Sweetest Little Town collection by Stacey Yacula at Purple Onion Designs. This time around I grabbed one of the large city street backgrounds to set the scene and inspire the story. This particular one is called Toy Store background and right away I knew that Miles and Beth would be perfect with it. I could totally see this baby bear urging mama bear down the snowy slope to go see all of the wonderful new toys that Santa might bring. Poinsettia, the shopping goose was also added for some extra hustle and bustle and she needed to have her own toddler in tow so I pulled Feather from the older Feather and Birdie set and added him as well. Now everyone is converging on the all important toy store together, ready to make their wish lists. :)

As always Purple Onion gives you the freedom to order from these collections a la carte, which is awesome but if you are someone who 'suffers' from Full Set Syndrome like myself then there is still time to take advantage of the 30% OFF discount when you order the complete Sweetest Little Town collection. This promotion will only be available until Sunday, November 15th so if you are thinking about treating yourself to some new rubber don't wait too long!

Wanna see more of these cute critters come to life? I plan on coloring up another Sweetest Little Town scene tomorrow morning at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. Hope to see you there!

Warm and cozy wishes...

Good morning!

Today is the day we've all been waiting for, the new holiday release from Hello Bluebird will be available in the shop at 7pm MST! These eight adorably cute clear sets, all with companion dies and six stand-alone dies, including one brand-new slimline die, are hard to resist and the team has been busy creating amazing sample cards sure to inspire. You can find all of the previews over on the Hello Bluebird blog and while you are there be sure to get entered to win one of two $50 gift certificates to the HB store.

My card today features the cute critters from the Cozy Christmas Eve set along with many of the great scene builder elements that also come in the set. The clock on the mantle is telling them that it is time to hang up those stockings and get tucked into bed so that Santa doesn't pass them by. Though it looks like little black bear is determined to finish his story before he goes to sleep. ;)

Join me tomorrow at 11am PST on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page where I will be continuing to celebrate this release with a Live coloring of another one of the new sets.

Toodles!

Merry Christmas...

Hello, hello!

Did you see the amazing new Christmas digi sets that were released yesterday? I've been having way too much fun with them to have only made one card so I'm back again today with another take on these darling holiday images. This time around I wanted that big ol' Christmas tree to be the star of the show. I love that it comes as a blank slate so you can potentially use it in outdoor scenes as well. With all of the ribbon garland, twinkle lights and ornaments included in the set you get the freedom to dress it up as much as you like. I layered the large window behind it so that the dark night sky and falling snow would frame the tree in a pretty way. Down below I added plenty of presents and even borrowed some gift bags from the Birthday Party digi set, because let's face it... if any of those gifts are from me, they are coming in a gift bag. LOL! The two new Backs 4 cuties got shrunk down smaller so they read as children eagerly anticipating Christmas morning.
Now it's your turn. I can't wait to see all of the festive Christmas scenes that you create using the new digi sets. :)

Stay crafty my friends!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Happy Sunday to you!

With Halloween come and gone it is time to dive head first right into Christmas crafting and Hello Bluebird has a new release hitting the shop tomorrow that will help you do just that! There are eight new clear sets coming your way and each one is just as cute as can be.If you haven't been following the Hello Bluebird Instagram then you've been missing out on some gorgeous sneak peeks from the rest of the team. For my first preview card I've inked up the darling critters from the Deck the Halls set and paired them with the fireplace and stocking from the Cozy Christmas Eve set. The Gallery Frame #5 die provided me with three small panels to divide my scene in, which I think adds some extra interest to the overall design. I love how each little character is busy doing their own part to get ready for the holidays, though I certainly wouldn't want the job of that poor fox, LOL! ;)

The entire release will be available tomorrow night at 7pm MST and I will be back tomorrow with another sneak peek. I also plan on coloring something from the new release Live on Tuesday so I will let you know more tomorrow. Fun times!
