Good morning!
I'm up on the Hello Bluebird blog today where I’m sharing a fun scene card that captures the current shift in seasons using the new Best Days stamp set. I absolutely adore this cute little gal riding her bicycle and I couldn't wait to color her into a lovely fall landscape. There is a great sense of movement in this stamp and I thought that the new Nesting Mini Slimline dies would give me just enough length to really take advantage of that. The running dogs included in the set also lend themselves to that illusion of forward motion so I did some masking and had them all following the bike. Behind them I stamped just the tree from the Pathway Background stamp to help set the scene.With all those cute pups tagging along I thought it would be funny to add the little kitten popping out of the rear basket on the back. I had to use a mirror image stamp to flip the direction he is facing, a handy technique but one that always leaves the image with a lighter inked line. Once I colored him into a black and white tuxedo cat you can't even tell his lines are lighter though. In the front basket I popped in the small pumpkin from the Autumn Gatherings set just to reinforce the fall theme of this card. The final touch was a coat of Ranger Glossy Accents on the bike frame to make it nice and shiny.The friendly pups racing along each got a unique coat of fur and the black and tan cutie racing into the scene at the edge of the card is actually the pup that is made to be stamped into the basket just like the kitty. By placing him at the very edge of the scene, it doesn't matter that the stamp doesn't include the entire body because our minds fill it in for us. Between the dogs, the cat, our cute cyclist and all the pretty fall colors, I really couldn't get much happier with this card. It has me counting down the days to when I can pull out my sweaters and enjoy a crisp autumn afternoon with all my furry friends. :)
