You are in my heart...

 Hello!

I'm back on the Hello Bluebird blog again and I've got one more Valentine’s Day card to share. This time around I wanted to take advantage of the baskets on the bike in the Best Days set and have this little cutie's Valentines flying out behind her. It took about six stamp sets to make this sweet scene come together, which is part of what I love about the scene building process. To go through my stash of stamps and find new uses for all of the great accessory images that come in them just makes me happy. Stamping a single layer scene always takes a lot of masking and the most important thing to remember with that technique is to start your stamping with the objects that will be closest to the front and work your way back. In this case I stamped the girl on her bicycle and the little dog in her front basket onto Copic X-Press It card stock using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I masked them off and then began stamping the envelopes, which I pulled from the Pig Day, Holiday Office Party, Dear Santa and Merry Mice sets. I masked the envelopes as I stamped so I could layer a few of them as well. Next, I stamped the mailbox from the Merry Mice set and masked it off before completing the scene with the large Country Roads Background stamp. With the background finally in place, the fun part of peeling off the masks and revealing the story you've put together is quite satisfying. With the stamping complete it's now time to sit back, grab my Copic markers and start coloring. I paired coral reds with blush pinks on her clothing, bike and cards to bring that Valentine feel to this scene. The fields got a fresh spring green and everything else stayed pretty neutral, as not to compete with the star of the show. The sentiment is from the Typed Everyday sentiment set and the small size was perfect since I didn't leave myself a lot of room for one on this card. Let's hope that she's able to find all of her letters once she hops off that bike to mail them, LOL!

Later gators!
