You're too tweet...

Hello friends!

I was feeling a bit nostalgic yesterday and started flipping through my binder of Pure Innocence stamps. It's still hard to believe that My Favorite Things is no longer in business. It makes me feel even more grateful for the stash of stamps that I have from them, and there are plenty that are still waiting to get inked up. This Important Peep set caught my eye and I thought she would be cute as a colorful Easter card. So I colored her in a rainbow of candy coated colors and added some length to her pigtails. The sentiment is from an old Ellen Hutson sentiment set and I thought it worked well in this simple spring scene. This was definitely a fun one and I will have to ink up more Pure Innocence sooner rather than later.  :)

Talk at'cha later!

You're the best present...

Hello again!

I needed something quick to color yesterday and as I flipped through a little pile of recent stamp purchases still sitting on my desk, this Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things caught my eye. I've been collecting these sweet PI images for years but I definitely don't get them inked up as often as I would like. So I made sure that this Christmas Sweetheart would at least make it onto a card before Christmas this year. To keep things quick and easy I limited my color palette to a simple three part color combo of red, pink and teal and created a very light and abstract winter background. It felt great to color up one of these cuties again and I'm so pleased with how this CAS card turned out.

MFT & Friends release blog hop!

Hello, hello!

I’m so excited to be helping celebrate the My Favorite Things February 2019 release today!  When I was asked if I would I be interested in joining this month I did not hesitate to say, "Oh, heck yes."  I always look forward to the MFT releases at the beginning of each month, so having the opportunity to join in and share the MFT love was a total no brainer.

When my box of goodies arrived I knew right away that I would be pairing up the two new Pure Innocence cuties into a single birthday party type scene. Birthday Buddies features the traditional PI sweetie along with her puppy pal and a handful of sentiments while For the Birthday Girl introduces a curly haired PI that I am just completely in love with! I stamped and masked these two so they would be standing close together then I grabbed my Copic markers and set about coloring them into a cozy room that is all decorated for the big party. I even made sure you see a peek of the birthday cake behind them in the next room. :)

I will be sharing a couple more cards from the new release here tomorrow and in the meantime I hope you enjoy all of the eye candy sprinkled throughout this hop which you can find the master list for right here on the MFT blog.

Wish Big...

Olo!

I was in need of a quick birthday card recently and this adorable Birthday Girl Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things seemed to hop right on my paper. The color scheme for this was inspired by a card from a store and it really pushed my Copic blending skills to get that pretty raw silk looking gold dress. I imagine her at a very upscale 5th Avenue type party, LOL! I also added some extra hair on her by extending her pigtails and flicking in some long bangs, it's such an easy way to change things up just a bit with these PI girlies. In the end I feel like I got the elegant but cute look that I was going for. :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Your on the nice list...

Hello friends!

You may be saying, "Hey where is the Halloween card?", well there is a very good reason for me to be skipping ahead to Christmas for the day. I’m beyond excited to be guest designing for My Favorite Things this month! It’s such an honor to be invited to join this amazingly talented group of stampers in showcasing all of the fun and fabulous new holiday goodies from the October release. For my card today I have the sweet as can be Nice List Pure Innocence. I am a long time fan of these darling stamps so I knew she would be the first one getting on a card. Because I wanted the sentiment to have a big impact as well, I grabbed the Merry Christmas Greeting, masked off Nice List with some post it tape, then stamped it right next to her overlapping a bit at the top of her list. While the mask was still in place I grabbed some green ink and quickly sponged some onto the bottom corner just to help ground her in place. Once the post it tape is removed this creates the illusion of her standing in front of a large sign. Then all I had to do was grab my new favorite die, the A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax set 1, to cut it all out and pop it on a card base. I LOVE the super narrow border the largest rectangle creates on an A2 card and I seriously can't stop using it!
Now if you head on over to the MFT blog you will find a bonus second card that I've created as well. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

My happy place...

Good morning!

It's been a few weeks but I finally made time to re-join the fun and play along in the current sketch challenge over on the MFT challenge blog. I've actually had this cute Spring Friends Pure Innocence stamped up for over a year so when I saw the sketch I knew she would work. I love how my friend Tracey adds bangs to these PI cuties so I did the same once I got to coloring and I am so happy with how she looks! At first I was a bit lost on what kind of scene to put her in but I guess I was inspired by the gorgeous day we had yesterday and the view of the lake with the forest beyond that I was enjoying. So I just grabbed my markers and started winging it. It was a bit nerve wracking at first but once it all started coming together I was glad I had tackled that challenge. And since I do feel blessed to live in such a beautiful area, and it truly is my happy place, the sentiment was kind of a no brainer, LOL!  ;)

Life is meant to be enjoyed...

Hello and good morning!

So this past weekend wasn't as sunny as I had hoped it would be so there was no pool time in my days. Still, I didn't think that this cool little Pure Innocence should miss out on the opportunity to chillax under the end of summer sun. She's called Fun in the Sun and I love how this stamp adds a bird's eye perspective to the card. I did do a tiny bit of altering by lengthening her pigtails so that they trailed down into the water. I based the layout loosely on the current sketch challenge, just flipping the sketch on it's side and tilting her air mattress a bit so she wasn't so straight horizontal. It's a simple CAS card but I think it sums up these last lazy days of summer to a 'T'.  :)

Talk at'cha tomorrow crafty peeps!
