Some bunny loves you...

TGIF!

Well I'm wrapping up this week with my first Easter card of the year. Since I recently added this sweet digi stamp called Girl Loves a Bunny to my ADFD collection I couldn't wait to color her up. There is something about these kids with their backs turned to the viewer that I find totally endearing. Because I have a tendency to buy and collect any cloud background paper that I find I figured this card was the perfect opportunity to pull some out and create a dreamy spring scene for these two. It looks like the perfect Easter Sunday to me. :)

Alrighty, gotta jet... have a fun and fabulous weekend everybody!

Love you bunches...

Mornin!

Super quick post today since I've got to be at work early... I couldn't resist getting another Bloom Bean on a card and this time I was in a bright and colorful kind of mood. That's where Doodlebug comes in to play, it doesn't get much more colorful than their fun papers.  I chose Mae from the set because her flowers looked like Gerber Daisies to me and those come in all sorts of colors. Doesn't she look so happy in her brightly hued garden? Oh how I love these Beans!  :)

March birthdays are the best...

Hi-dee-ho!

The end of the month is drawing near and I realized that I hadn't made a Baker's Dozen cupcake card for March yet. Rather than going with the obvious green I thought it would be fun to treat the frosting like a rainbow and the sprinkles are the gold at the end of it. So I went a little crazy with the different kinds of gold accents... Copic Spica, actual gold glitter and the gold enamel dots for good measure. I think any leprechaun worth his salt would approve of this birthday card. ;)

Ok, I've gotta run... toodles!
Supply list:

Love you a bushel and a peck...

Hello, hello!

I've got a happy little love card that I've made for 7 Kids Crafting Supply Store today and it features a mix of stamp sets from two different companies to create a single fun scene. Avery Elle recently released this great Fruit Stand set and as soon as I saw it it jumped into my shopping cart, LOL! I so enjoy building scenes for my character stamps to live in and this Fruit Stand is so unique and different from any other scene builders in my collection. Now it does come with its own character in the Avery Elle set but because I wanted to use the "love you a bushel and a peck" sentiment I also wanted to have a cute couple on this card. So of course I found the perfect pear... oops I mean pair, in the Greeting Farm Mini Remix Boys set and Mini Remix Happy set. Seriously, how adorable are these down on the farm love birds? Sure they work hard running this little road side fruit stand but they always make time for each other. ;)
There is still time to enter this month's challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. Kelly has an awesome $50 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner so get to creating and join the fun!

You're Super...

Good morning!

As soon as I saw this week's sketch challenge over on the MFT blog I knew that I wanted to make a superhero card. I think it was the speech bubble in the corner that really got the comic book idea stuck in my brain. So all I had to decide was do I use the Super Boy or Super Girl stamp? In the end I went with the boy simply because I do so many girlie cards that this would be a fun change up. I kept the classic Superman color scheme for his costume and even gave this little guy some super hero blue/black hair too. I also ended up altering his face a little by drawing in eyebrows and a smirk to make him look a bit more confident than the original image. The die cut cityscape in the background and the sentiment are all part of the Zappy Birthday set from Papertrey Ink. I really liked that the font had that classic comic book look.

Ok then, time for me to fly off, LOL!
Talk at'cha later!

Sending you a hello...

TGIF!

It's another Bellarific Friday and I am playing along once again. This week the challenge was a photo collage inspiration with a color scheme of sunshine/steel/candy/cream/marine. Because I really wanted to color up this beautiful Lilac Garden Girl my 'candy' aka pink is a more purpley pink but I think it still works. Lilacs are my most favorite floral scent, in fact I have a large Lilac bush right outside my front door and I can't wait for those few weeks in the spring when I can step outside and breath it all in... so wonderful. But I digress, I wanted to keep my card design light and bright, much like the inspiration photos. So I went for a white background simply embellished with a few stitched die lines and a pretty fancy foliage sentiment from Papertrey Ink that I dressed up with some 'lilacs' that I just dotted in with my Copics. Like I said, simple but I think effective. :)

Ok friends, that's it from me this week. Hope you have a creative weekend!

Thinking of you...

Olo!

I found myself in the mood to color up a portrait style image yesterday because I really just wanted to focus on some hair and skin coloring. So I got on the computer and scrolled through my digis until I came across this beauty from A Day For Daisies. She was a free digi that I got off the ADFD blog a couple years ago and I think her name is Buds in Her Hair, though I can't find her in the ADFD store. The Princess Leia style hair buns looked like a fun challenge to tackle. What a pretty little princess she became with her crown of flowers and I even added in a lacy ruff to hint at the fancy gown she must be wearing. I love the old Making Memories paper that I found in my stash, it really added to the fairy tale look that I was going for on this card. I'm so happy with how it all came together. :)

Have a sweet day...

Hi there!

I recently added the super cute Roberto's Rascals Donuts stamp set to my collection and I couldn't wait to pair them up with this die cut bake shop from the Doodlebug Cream & Sugar collection. I actually got it way before I got the stamps but I could just see this scene come together in my head. So I was very excited to sit down yesterday and have it all finally come together. Of course I picked my Copic colors to match the little shop and now this pair of pals is starting their day with some sunshine and delicious donuts. :)

Speaking of donuts, I think I have one calling my name. Talk at'cha later!

Party like there is no tomorrow...

Hello crafty friends!

It's Tuesday and that means I have another fun card that I made for 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store. This week I got my hot little hands on this super cute Prehistoric Pals stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs and I couldn't wait to create a scene with all the great character and scene building images that are included in the set. And to really give it that picture book look I decided to do some more no-line coloring. So I stamped everything in Desert Sand ink and did a bunch of masking, then settled in for some serious coloring time. There is something really special about watching a scene like this come to life under your markers. Sure, it may take a bit longer to sit and color an entire scene but I figure it's really just swapping time that I would spend picking papers, working a design layout and finding the right embellishments on any other card. ;)
Oh and don't forget that there is still time to enter this month's challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. Kelly has an awesome $50 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner!

Friends & flowers never fade...

Good morning!

Today I'm having a bit of fun with the Bloom Bean kit that I pre-ordered from The Greeting Farm. I adore the floral theme of this kit and the Beans are always too stinkin' cute so I couldn't wait for this to arrive in my mailbox. Then the dilemma is always about choosing the first one to ink up. Emery caught my eye right away, probably because I've been binge watching Moana over and over this past week and she kinda looks like baby Moana to me. Which probably explains my coloring choices as well. At first I thought I would color her flowers like bright and colorful tulips but when I found this scrap of Lily of the Valley paper I figured the flowers in her hair could just as easily be little lilies. So a soft and subtle color palette is what I ended up going with this time. Who knows, maybe I will still do a tulip version of her in the near future. I also wanted her to be a little fairy so I die cut some butterfly wings out of vellum and glued them to her back to fulfill that transformation. :)

Alrighty folks, off to work I go. Thanks for stopping by!

Kiss me I'm Irish...

Top o' the mornin' to ya!

In honor of St. Patrick's Day I decided to do a little bit of stamp altering and turn this darling Dollie with Cupcake from TGF into a St. Paddy's bar maid with a tall mug of beer that I drew. Now she's ready to do some serious celebrating today, LOL! I thought about coloring the beer green too but thought it might be confused for a Shamrock Shake or something. Anywho, don't forget to wear your green today. We don't want any leprechauns having an excuse for pinching us now do we?  ;)

Have a wonderful weekend my crafty friends!

You brighten my days...

Hi there!

The snow has finally given way to rain in my neck of the woods and it is feeling like spring is slowly on its way. Rather than getting down about the grey, wet days I'm trying to pull inspiration from my circumstances and color up some of the fun rainy day stamps that I have in my collection. First up is Tiny Townie Rachel Loves the Rain from Stamping Bella. I love how this girl isn't afraid to dress up in her ruffled skirt and go dance in the rain. I even added actual glitter to the lacy edges of each tier of her skirt so that I could enter this card into the current Bellarific Friday Challenge. I swear it is super sparkly in person but I just couldn't capture that in my photo unfortunately. The bright pops of yellow show up though and I think it makes for a great contrast to the cool blues and greens in the paper and the rest of the image.

Well that's all from me today... thanks for stopping by!  :)

Awesome looks good on you...

Olo!

How about some Kraftin' Kimmie goodness for today's post? It has been way too long since I inked up a KK cutie and I was itchin' to get one on a card. I had some time to kill away from home this past weekend so I grabbed my Copics and a handful of stamped images so that I could color in my down time. Which is all fine and good until I realized I had no papers pulled to match my colors to. It's always weird to me not to have that reference, I feel like I'm flying blind. That didn't stop me though, so I grabbed this stylin' gal from the Oh Snap set and decided to focus on my BV collection of Copics for the majority of her outfit. I don't use BVs all that much so it was good practice for me. The funny thing is that once I sat down to put her on a card yesterday and looked through my bag of purple paper scraps I found this striped print that was perfect. I mean, I couldn't have matched her to it better if I had tried... craziness! Anywho, since the Kraftin Kimmie Saturday challenge this week is "anything goes" I'm just going to pop this in and play along.

Happy Birthday to you...

Hello again!

Today is my first solo post over on the 7 Kids blog and in honor of Kelly, the wonderful owner of the shop, recently bringing in The Greeting Farm stamps I wanted to ink up one of these cuties that I'm such a fan of. There are a lot of great stamps to choose from but when I saw Birthday Ian I knew he was the one for this card. Not only does he make for a super fun birthday card but I also get to finally check him off my 'get them inked' TGF list which is totally satisfying, LOL! I wanted to keep the card fairly simple but also have a sense of energy and excitement about it so I masked off Birthday Ian and used several different color inks with splatter style stamps like these ones from Altenew that were just added to the store. I love how it looks and the card actually came together fairly quickly which is always a plus. :)

Thanks for stopping by everybody!

Lean on me...

Good Monday morning to you!

Just a super quick post today before I run out the door. I'm playing along in the MFT sketch challenge again this week. The Happy Hedgehogs made it on to another card and this time I used the masking technique to create this little woodland scene. I lengthened the log by stamping it twice so that it would become the horizontal strip from the sketch. I put the two mushrooms together to mimic the hedgies and balance the design as well as reinforce the sentiment that I chose to pair with them. I think it all came together very well for a cherry little pick-me-up kind of card. :)

A little birdie told me...

Greetings fellow crafters!

My card today was made for the March challenge at Some Odd Girl. This month the theme is 'anything goes with a pop it up twist'. And even though we have still been getting snow this past week I am determined to keep dreaming of spring if only through my card making. So I printed out Meadow Tia and paired her up with some pretty pastoral papers that I thought suited her quite nicely. Of course I colored her up to match and I am so happy with how cute she turned out in these happy colors. Her little bluebird friend is tweeting a birthday greeting to pull the whole design together. And even though it's not fancy, I did fussy cut Tia and used foam adhesive to give her some 'pop' off the card to fit the challenge.

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful weekend!  :)

Across the miles...

Olo!

So when I saw this Rolling Hills stamp I knew I had to snag it because it would provide the perfect scene for some of my little TGF Lift Off cuties. I couldn't wait to ink it up and make it look like this mini Anya was flying high into the sky. I mean seriously, how cool? It was so relaxing to take my time and color it up in a simple color scheme and see the whole idea come together just like I hoped it would. With all the details in the illustration I didn't feel like  I really needed to add much in the way of embellishments so the card stayed nice and flat which will make for easy mailing. :)

Ok, I gotta run. Have a great day everyone!

Oh, my Lordy bees...

Hi gals!

I have some exciting news to share this morning. Recently I was invited to join the design team for 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store, formerly 7 Kids College Fund. There are so many great crafty supplies to be found there that I am just tickled pink to help represent this fine shop. So to kick things off with my new team I have made a card for the March 'anything goes' challenge on the 7 Kids challenge blog. Playing along is easy, all you have to do is use at least one product that can be found in the 7 Kids store and link back to the challenge blog in your own post, which gives you a chance at winning a $20 gift certificate at the end of the month... who doesn't love that?
For my challenge inspiration card I decided to ink up one of the cute mini Gorjuss Girl stamps called The Pretend Friend. Because I also found this bright, pretty floral print in the Echo Park Happiness is Homemade collection I knew that I wanted my Gorjuss Girl to have blond hair. That can be difficult with the GG stamps sometimes because there are so many lines in the hair that stamping in black ink can really dull down any attempts at light color hair. So this seemed to be the perfect opportunity for some no-line coloring and by stamping her in a lighter ink she really turned into quite the Goldilocks. Talk about a happy looking card!

Alrighty, I hope to see some of my crafty friends joining the fun with me this month over at 7 Kids!   :)

Good for my heart...

Hello again!

I'm squeaking in just under the wire with a card for the current MFT sketch challenge. Usually I check out the newest sketch on Wednesday or Thursday and spend the next few days mulling over ideas but this past weekend was so busy with work that once I got time to sit down and create yesterday I was still a blank slate. So I pulled out my MFT stamp binder and flipped through it for inspiration. When I came across the sweet You Have My Heart set something just clicked. I could see these buddies sitting outside on a lovely spring day without a care in the world. So I rifled through my paper scraps and found just what I needed to make that vision a reality. The sketch was followed pretty much to a 'T' so this card really came together quickly after that. It's simple but I'm lovin' it. :)

Catch ya on the flip side!

It just blooms...

Good morning!

I'm just catching up this morning with a card that I entered into this past week's Bellarific Friday 'free form' challenge at Stamping Bella. I really wanted to color up another of the new Tiny Townie Garden Girls so Lily of the Valley jumped on my stamping block and got inked. I actually have a whole flower bed beside my house that is filled with Lily of the Valley. Seeing them along with the Crocus and Hyacinth is always a sure sign of spring. That must be why they are a favorite flower of mine. I wanted to stay true to the simplicity of the flower but I also really wanted to get a bit of pink on my card too, so I figured why not just color a hazy pink background behind her? And I gotta say that I'm kinda diggin' it. ;)

Later gators!

Great love...

TGIF!

Recently I read the sad news that the A Day For Daisies challenge blog is closing down and the final challenge actually ends today. The good news is that the store remains open and there is still the ADFD Facebook group to share and find inspiration on but this definitely feels like the end of an era in many ways. So I couldn't let this milestone pass without playing along one last time. The challenge is 'a celebration of favorites' and it was really hard to choose a single image as my most favorite because there are so many that I love. Perhaps the obvious choice would have been a fairy or mermaid but as I got to thinking about it I finally chose this sweet image called, 'Breeze in Spring'. For me she represents all of the darling kiddo images in the shop with their quiet innocence and simple whimsy that drew me to ADFD in the first place. It always amazes me how a few simple lines can come together with a bit of color and capture so much emotion. Ya gotta love that. :)

Alrighty, I hope your weekend is a crafty one!
