Love ya...

Howdy folks!

So I've got a fun twist on a Valentine today and this one is heading way out west with the awesome Cowboy Country papers by Carta Bella and these two cuties from Nellie Snellen. I've had Sweet Cowgirl and Revolver Hero in my stamp stash for some time now and as soon as I saw the Cowboy Country paper collection I knew I had to get my hands on it just for these cuties. I especially love the cut apart papers that come in these collections because you can get so many fun card backgrounds out of just one 12x12 sheet. The arches seemed to be a good fit for this cowboy and his sweetheart as they are dancin' and romancin' out where the deer and the antelope play, LOL! If you couldn't tell, I had a lot of fun with this card.  ;)

Well, I've gotta get moving. Have a good one!

To the moon and back...

Hey there!

So this is my last Tuesday blog post for 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store because as of February 1st we are moving everything over to Facebook. No worries though, myself and the rest of the 7 Kids team will still be posting weekly inspiration in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page along with new bi-weekly challenges for even more crafty fun.
For my card today I have inked up this darling group of snuggle buddies from Dreamerland Crafts called, All Snuggled Up. This darling boy and his sleeping pups totally melt my heart, it just doesn't get much better than cuddling with warm, wiggly puppers. As I was coloring them up I decided that they needed to be sharing a big, cozy bed so I set about to make that happen. Lots of wood grain and blue is going on here, which I feel adds a more masculine touch, with a few strategic pops of red to help lead your eye through the design. All in all I am quite pleased with how this sweet scene came together.

Alrighty, so there is still about two weeks to get your entries in for the January "anything goes challenge". It's the final blog challenge before they move over to the Facebook group as well so get crafty and head on over to the 7 Kids blog for a chance to win the $20 gift certificate!

I love you more...

Good morning!

I've got quite the day ahead of me so this post is going to be short and sweet. I'm jumping from coloring up one of the mini Gorjuss Girls last week to a full size beauty this week. This pretty pair are called Purrrfect Love and with that big heart in the background I figured it would make for a sweet Valentine. I wanted the card to have a soft, vintage type feel to it and this retired paper from The Girls' Paperie did the trick. Of course I tried to color them up to match and while the blue got a little away from me I'm really pleased with how well her hat matched the golden beige stripe in the middle of the card. All in all I think they look right at home on this sweet card. :)

Ok, gotta run... later gators!

One Great Day...

TGIF!

Back in December I participated in a 12 Days of Coloring challenge in the Some Odd Girl Facebook group and had a blast getting a head start on some fun images. Super Mae is the third character that I have gotten onto a card and just look at her soar! I didn't have a plan when I initially colored her up, I was just having fun with some bright and vibrant color combos. So when it came time to make the card yesterday I hemmed and hawed a bit on what to do. Ultimately I came across this skyline stamp from Whimsy and decided to create an ink blended background with it. I masked off a narrow strip of the card base before adding the color and stamping, then when I pulled the tape off I had a nice, clean cityscape popping against the white background. I fussy cut Mae then popped her on top and I love how she is bursting through the scene... so much energy!

Alrighty friends, I'm off to work. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Cutie...

Hello my friends of The Farm!

I'm posting over on the TGF blog today and I've inked up Hey Cutie in desert sand to create a fun no-line scene card. If you couldn't tell, I'm kinda head over heels for these big eyed beauties and I just can't get enough of them! This time around I paired Hey Cutie with the pretty kitty from the retired Dolly and Kitty set because she looked like she needed a friend to pal around with. If that fluffy Persian is anything like my own kitties she follows Cutie around wherever she goes. I colored them both into a beautiful spring day and oh, how I wish I could join them. Anyone else tired of the cold and snow?

Anywho... thanks for stopping by and I hope this card adds a bit of sunshine to your day.  :)

Cold hands, warm heart...

Hey there!

Well, after a fairly warm week where we saw a lot of our snow finally melting off we got hit with another winter storm yesterday... ugh! It snowed all day and more is called for today, so there goes our clear roads and easy getting around. Hopefully this is the last one of the season because I have had enough of winter. Though seeing all that white stuff come falling down I was inspired to ink up this adorable Happy Twila from CC Designs and get her on a winter themed card. I wish I was as happy about this weather as she seems to be, LOL! I paired Twila up with this cute snowman print from the Simple Stories Sub Zero collection and I really like how it looks like she's been busy building her own group of frosty friends. Oh and just FYI... I noticed Happy Twila is currently half off in the CC Designs store along with a lot of other great stamps.  :)

Toodles!

Happy Valentine's Day...

Hello, hello!

I've got a pretty little Valentine card that I've made for 7 Kids Crafting Supply Store today and it features one of the mini Gorjuss Girls. This sweet girl is No. 21 The Collector and I inked her up in desert sand for some no-line coloring. I really like using this technique on Gorjuss Girls when I want to give them blond hair because with the hair being so lined in the stamped image all that black ink with traditional stamping tends to darken it up quite a bit. Pretty much everything else on the card comes from the Simple Stories Romance collection kit and I just can't seem to get enough of it. I love how quick and easy it makes putting a card together. :)

There is still plenty of time to enter this month's challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. Kelly has an awesome $20 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner so get to creating and join the fun!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Copic X-Press It

Sweet, wonderful you...

Good morning!

Back in September I found myself on the west side of the state and I was able to stop by Ellen Hutson and grab a couple of their exclusive Leading Ladies stamp sets. If you couldn't guess, this fun gal is Baker Lady and I had a lot of fun deciding which kitchen items to add to her hands... the set comes with so many to choose from! For this card I ultimately settled on the bowl and wooden spoon. I colored her up to look like my friend Tracey since she is quite the baker herself. I was also able to finally cut into these great Country Kitchen papers by Carta Bella and they are perfect with her. A sprinkling of buttons and some twine and this card was done. :)

Hooray...

TGIF everybody!

I've got one final card to share from the Greeting Farm January release and it may just be my personal favorite. Yes, it's another little piggy from the super cute Hogs set... what can I say, these stamps really got my creative juices flowing! As soon as I saw this guy with his round belly stuffed full of treats I knew that the Bakery set would be making an appearance once again. I wanted this card to look like Mr. Piggy has taken the whole 'treat yo self' idea just a bit too far when he decided to sample the entire bakery. Though I can't say that it looks like he regrets that decision one bit, LOL! I can't even tell you how happy it makes me to mix old and new stamp sets, giving them both a new spin... love it!

Well, another weekend is upon us. I hope yours is sunnier and warmer than mine is supposed to be... I am SO ready for spring!

HB2U...

Olo!

I've got a couple extra cards that I made for the Greeting Farm during previews last week and I will finally be getting around to sharing them here. This cute little Ian is from the new Mini Remix Balloons set which is also available in the 7 Kids store. I paired him up with the HB2U balloon sentiment that comes with the set and then had to think about where I wanted him to live. Because Ian is sitting I decided to color in a front stoop for him to be resting on. Confession time... I was sitting in bed watching a movie while I colored this up and at the time I felt like it was all going quite well. It wasn't until I went to add the finished image to the card that I realized just how wonky my line work on that porch and house siding got. It looks like the whole house is sliding downhill, LOL! C'est la vie... at least now I know that coloring is an activity best left to my desk. ;)

Okey dokey, I'm outta here. Have a good one!

You're a Doll...

Hey there!

I'm returning to a more wintery card today featuring the darling Shopping Makes Me Happy stamp from Dreamerland Crafts. As much fun as I've been having coloring in forest and landscape type scenes for my stamped characters I thought that this image provided a new challenge for me to tackle. Truth be told, the idea of sketching in the more structured lines of store fronts made me quite nervous. But I was inspired by Sandy Allnock and her scenery skills give me the courage to try too. In the end it isn't perfect and there are things I will do different next time but I have to remind myself that all the little flaws I see don't matter because the buildings aren't the star of the show, that beautiful stamp is! All you really notice is her taking a stroll on a sunny winter's day. :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Rainbows and sunshine...

Hello, hello!

I'm here today with my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. For today's card I couldn't help but ink up another one of the new Whimsy fairies. This beauty is called Fairy Wishes and with that fun pose I could just envision her flying through the air. This lead to me getting a bit carried away with the background scene. The inspiration came from the scenery around my home, minus our current snow. First came the mountains, then the lake and trees. Then when I came across this great sentiment I had to finish the whole thing off with a magic rainbow. I love how high in the sky it looks like she has flown.

Alrighty, well there is still plenty of time to make a card for the January 'anything goes' challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. With Kelly heading to Creativation this week there will be loads of new goodies to spend that $20 gift certificate on!

Ok, so remember when I mentioned last week how well the new Hogs set mix and matched with older TGF stamps? Well I've used five different sets to create this sunny meadow scene. There are so many great little accessory images to be found when you really stop and look. For this card I did the masking technique to combine the tree stump from Cuddly Thanks, the flowers and butterflies from Be a Unicorn, the mushrooms from Little Fairies, Miss Piggy from Hogs and the sentiment from the Mega Mini Lift Off set. I love how all of these small stamps can come together to make a big impact on a card. :)

Hooray...

Olo!

Well here we are at the third and final day of January previews for The Greeting Farm. If you are a planner gal then you are going to love today's stamp set. It is called This Week and it comes with a bunch of fun stamps that will help cheer you on through every day of the week! Being a card maker who hasn't yet delved into the whole planner thing, I was still able to find a lot to love and have fun getting crafty with in this stamp set. I especially love the peppy little cheerleader and her crazy critter fans. I got the idea to create a bleacher full of the critters behind her as she cheered so out came my handy roll of masking tape. By stamping the cheerleader and her speech bubble first and masking them off I could then stamp and mask the three different rows of critters as high as I liked. The scene now filled up most of the rectangle I had die cut out, adding a big impact to the front of my card. :)

Alrighty, you know the drill... be sure to head on over to the TGF blog for even more This Week cuteness from the Farmers. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase on the 15th!  :)

Celebrate your birthday...

Hello, hello!

Are you ready for day two of the January Greeting Farm release previews? Today we are going hog wild with the Hogs mini stamp set. This little set includes four of the cutest pigs you ever did see, a sentiment and some tiny hearts. Now, while the set may be small, as I started playing with these cuties I quickly realized that they mix and match beautifully with a number of other Greeting Farm clear sets making for numerous whimsical scenes. In fact I've made two other cards showcasing this and I will be sharing them here in a few days. But for now I wanted to show how great these piggies are all on their own. For this sweet birthday card I stamped the sitting pig in desert sand then masked her off before stamping the pig with the balloon in desert sand too, this gives the illusion that he is standing behind her just a bit. Then I did some no-line coloring on them and colored in a simple pastoral scene as well. The result is a bright and cheery birthday vignette that is sure to make someone smile. :)

There is plenty more Hogs inspiration to be had over on the TGF blog and I promise you won't want to miss the fun and fabulous creations my fellow Farmers have made.

All my heart...

Please scroll down for my TGF preview card that went live today as well, thanks! :)

It's the second Wednesday of the new month and that means it's time for the January 'anything goes' challenge over on the 7 Kids challenge blog. Playing along is easy, all you have to do is use at least one product that can be found in the 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store and link back to the challenge blog in your own post, which gives you a chance at winning a $20 gift certificate at the end of the month... who doesn't love that? This is actually the last challenge to be held on the blog as we will be moving them to the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page in February.
For my inspiration card I inked up the lovely Tiny Townie Raven Loves Ribbon in desert sand ink and did some no-line coloring. I was trying to match the pinks in her dress to the different pinks in that heart paper but I wasn't super successful. Still, it is a pretty color combo if you ignore it not matching perfectly. Sometimes ya just gotta roll with it, LOL! I was happier with how the ribbon color turned out so there's that at least. The rest of the card stayed super clean and simple with just a bit of the paper up top and a sprinkling of antiqued gold sequins. I like how this keeps Raven as the star of the show. :)

Alrighty, I hope to see all of my crafty friends joining the fun with me this month over at 7 Kids!
Supply list:

LOVE U...

Hello there!

Today is day 1 of the January stamp release from The Greeting Farm... woot, woot! We have three clear stamp sets coming out this month and they are all amazing! Check out this mini Anya from the Mini Remix Balloons set that will be available for purchase on the 15th... isn't she just the cutest?! The set includes Anya, Ian and three fun balloon lettered sentiments along with some regular wording that can be mix and matched with them. For this colorful Valentine I paired Anya with the LOVE balloons and I also borrowed the U balloon from the HB2U stamp with a bit of selective inking. I stamped it a bit higher up so it looked like it had escaped her grasp and is floating away... oh dear!  :)

Now be sure to head on over to the TGF blog to see all of the amazing cards from my fellow Farmers using the new Mini Remix Balloons set and I shall see you back here tomorrow with more sneak peek fun!  :)

Thinking of you...

Hey there!

I'm here with my Tuesday post for 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store. With the new year comes new stamp releases from all the awesome companies that 7 Kids carries. Among those is the new batch from Whimsy Stamps and they have some fairies that I am just head over heels excited about! If you've been in the stamping game for a while you may remember seeing some of these cuties from the now retired Sugar Nellie store. Their Fairy Glenn range was always a favorite of mine so I was very sad when they closed. But now the fairies have found a new home and they are better than ever! It was hard to choose which of the three to ink up first but ultimately Flower Fairy won the day. She's just so cute with her bobbed hair and that sweet, shy pose... such a doll! I had so much fun coloring her up to match this pretty floral paper from my stash and I gotta tell you the spring time feel of this card definitely has me wishing that these cold, wet winter days would soon come to an end.  :)

Alrighty then, the December challenge just came to an end and tomorrow we will be kicking off the last challenge to be hosted on the blog. After January it will be moving permanently to our 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. So be sure to head on over to the 7 Kids blog for a chance to win the $20 gift certificate!
