Fairy Special Day...

Hi there!

The
Fairy Special set from Whimsy Stamps is another new set that I just got this week and I couldn't wait to ink it up. These wide eyed fairies are so cute and immediately caught my eye when they were released. There are two included in the set and I started with this little gal flying off to the right. I colored her in pretty purpley pinks with a crown of daisy flowers on her head and she looks just as sweet as can be. The butterflies and sentiment are also included in the Fairy Special set and they were all I needed to add to complete this magical spring scene. :)

Toodles!

For my coolest friend...

Good morning!

Let's start the week off with some adorable skating penguins from the
Penguin Winter set at Whimsy Stamps, shall we? This super cute set, illustrated by Crissy Armstrong, has been in my stash for longer than I would care to admit, but with a new year there was new opportunity to finally get these penguins nice and inky. I've been focused mostly on drawing these past couple weeks, relying on cards that were already made for my recent posting. So when I found myself with some coloring time yesterday, it was this set that caught my eye. It comes with some great builder elements as well and I used them to create the edge of the ice pond and add trees to the scene. Everything came together pretty quickly, making for an enjoyable afternoon of coloring and card making. Plus, it feels pretty great starting off the year  showing a neglected stamp set some love.  ;)

Have a great week!

Happy Halloween...

Hello, hello!

I got my hands on this cute
Cat-o-lanterns set from Whimsy Stamps a few month's back and I finally had time to ink them up and get them on a card before Halloween arrives. Since I am very much a cat lady, with my own little family of black and tuxedo cats, this stack of kitties and glowing jacks just makes my heart happy. I tried my best to play up the glow on the fur of these curious cats before masking them off and adding the dark background fading to light behind them. The simple layout design was jazzed up a bit with a messy stitched border stamped along the edge and the purple enamel dots matching back to the background colors. All in all, this was another quickie that turned out really cute! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Oceans of love...

Hello, hello!

I fell in love with the new Mermaid Friends set as soon as I saw it at Whimsy Stamps and just had to add it to my crafty stash.
It is designed by the amazing Crissy Armstrong, and her amazing cards and coloring using these pretty mermaids gave me so much inspiration. Out of the two mermaids included, I chose to ink up this cutie with the shorter hair first. I paired her with the sea turtle from the set as well as kelp from the Sweet November Stamps
Kelp Bed Background Builder set. I had so much fun putting this card together and the treasure map die was the perfect finishing touch.  :)

Have a good one!

A Mermazing Birthday...

Hello, hello!

Guess who was going through her mermaid stamps yesterday and realized that this fun set from Whimsy Stamps was still waiting to see some inky love? The set is called
Mermaid Moments and it is designed by the amazing Crissy Armstrong. There are three beautiful mermaids included in the set and I chose this demure darling and the little goldfish that is also part of the set. The scenery and sentiment are from a retired Simon Says Stamp set and it created the perfect place for this little mermaid to stop and rest. The soft and simple background was done using the Copic airbrush system which saved me some time pulling this card together. I'm so happy that I finally found time to make this card happen.

Have a good one!

My soft hearted friend...

Hey there!

I found myself with a bit of time to revisit some of the older stamp sets in my stash recently and when I spotted the cute Fairy Dreams set from Whimsy Stamps I knew that I wanted to ink up another one of these sweet fairies. There are three included in the set and I'm embarrassed to say that even though I've had them for at least four years, I've only made a card with one of the fairies until now. I also grabbed the newer Woodland Critters set that is illustrated by the talented Crissy Armstrong as well, and instantly had a perfect pairing to create with. I stamped the bird in the nest first and then masked it off before stamping the seated fairy slightly behind it. I went with the Memento rich cocoa ink for a bit softer look, which I think lends itself to the dreamy quality I was shooting for with this scene. The first thing I started to color in was the tree branches because they helped me map out the rest of the card design. I wanted to capture these two friends at daybreak, perhaps the little fairy is there to babysit the eggs while mama flies off to look for some breakfast. I pushed the landscape very low on the card, leaving the wide open space of the sky to fill most of the scene and help create the sense that we are high up in that tree right along with these two. The sentiment is from the Woodland Critters set too and I stamped it in a soft blue to be tone on tone with that sky. I'm so glad that I made time to just play because I'm so pleased with how this card turned out.  :)

Toodles!

Endless summer vibes...

Good morning!

I finally had a chance to play with some new stamps that have been hanging out on my desk for a few days and I was really pleased with how well these two came together. This month's Girl stamp from Felicity Jane is called Kayla and she is definitely sporting a casual beachy look so I paired her with this great Beach Scene  background from Whimsy Stamps. I gotta say, I'm kind of addicted to these Felicity Jane/Whimsy mash-ups, they just seem like a match made in stampy heaven. I can imagine Kayla making her way back to her summer rental after a long, refreshing walk along the shore line. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and it was just what I needed to finish off this sweet, summer card.  :)

Alrighty, I'm off. Have a good one my friends!

Make some waves...

Good morning!

Yesterday was a busy day for me that left me with very little time to color. This had me grabbing the stack of pre-stamped/pre-colored images that I keep on my desk for just such an occasion. I wanted a mermaid and came across the last of the Some Odd Girl mermaids that I had colored way back during their daily color challenges. She's called Hey Mermaid and she can now be found at Whimsy Stamps. All I had left to do was add a sentiment and color in the background and I would have a finished card to share today. Since my new clear stamps from the recent Sweet November release are still sitting on my desk, I flipped through them to find what I needed. The large sentiment is part of the Mermees #3 set and the little school of fish are from the Mermaid Hair set. Another swooshing current type background was both quick to complete and it also lends a fun sense of movement, which I think suits this lovely mermaid quite nicely.   :)

Well, time for me to get busy again. Hope your week is off to a great start

Shellabrate your day...

 Hey there!

Guess who was going through her mermaid stamps yesterday and realized that this fun set from Whimsy Stamps had yet to be inked up? Well of course I had to remedy that by putting together an under the sea scene using as many stamps from the Mermaid Birthday set as I could. To help with that I chose to create a tall slimline card using the Mini Scallop slimline die from CC Designs, which appears to be retired. They are so cute and I love how the fish appears to be quite confused by the goldfish balloons the mermaid is holding. The extra space of the slimline design really gives the scene room to breath and those mermaids room to float freely. I'm so happy that I'm able to cross another neglected stamp set off my 'need to color' list.  ;)

Have a good one!

It's simple. I love you...

TGIF!

Yesterday I pulled out another one of the Some Odd Girl images that I've had colored up from the challenges SOG used to run before the store closed down. They are nice to have on days when I have limited crafty time as I can just finish a background and pop them on a card. As I was flipping through the stack of images I finally settled on this pretty Nerdy Piper who can still be found at Whimsy Stamps. She isn't technically a Valentine's image but her sweater was red so I figured I could make Piper work. So I masked her off, airbrushed a pink background and stamped some hearts behind her. The scalloped rectangle die cut that I used also adds a very Valentine look to the finished card. I gotta say, it feels good to finally get this pretty gal on a card.

Thanks for stopping by

Christmas Greetings...

 Hey there!

I've been loving the Christmas sets by Crissy Armstrong over at Whimsy Stamps and have collected more than a few here recently. So when I sat down to get crafty yesterday I decided to create a scene using them. You know how I love me some background builder images and the Penguin Winter set has some great snow covered pine trees that I used in the distance. The Gnome Warm Wishes set not only includes this sweet Santa gnome that I used but the cool tree house too. And since Santa gnome looked like he could use a couple friends I also added Rudolph and the sweet penguin from the Christmas Deer set. I gotta say, they all work so seamlessly together that I can't wait to create my next scene with them. ;)

Have a good one!

Merry Everything...

Good morning!

I've been a fan of the lovely Girl stamps from Felicity Jane for awhile now and even though I am diligent about collecting the new one each month I rarely find time to get them on cards. So this is me doing my part to continue working towards my goal of getting more of my stamp stash onto cards. Bella Girl is from this year's Christmas kit and when I paired her with the Snow Road background stamp from Whimsy Stamps I knew it was a perfect match. The background stamp was just wide enough for a mini slimline card and by masking Bella and coloring the road in to extend past the gate I was able to make her feel right at home here. I love how it looks like she is getting ready to decorate that red fence behind her.  :)

Alrighty, I've got to run... thanks for stopping by!

'Tis the season to be fall-y...

Hey, hey!

I was looking through the stack of images I have stamped and ready to color that sits on my desk and I came across this fun, fall scene that I put together at least two years ago. The little gal is a retired rubber stamp that I got from CC Designs called, Cinnamon with Sunflower. The good news is that she is still available as a digi stamp at Whimsy Stamps. I paired Cinnamon with some background builder stamps from Art Impressions so it looks like she is taking a stroll along a farmland path or maybe it's a vineyard with that wine barrel and grapes. Either way, it looks quite idyllic to me. :)

Toodles!
