Olo!
I'm sharing a cute summer scene card using the classic Fishin' Hole stamp set over on the Hello Bluebird blog today. The twist comes by pairing this happy little fisherman with one of the newest background scene stamps called, Country Roads. You might be asking, where is that country road? Well, I turned it into a rushing stream full of fish and it was as simple as grabbing blue Copic markers rather than brown to color it in. A few fish, stamped in a light grey ink, also help transform the road into the perfect fishin' hole for our little friend here. With the early morning sun shining down on him and his puppy pal that I borrowed from the Rainy Day set, nothing else had to be changed in this awesome background stamp to make it work perfectly for the story I wanted to tell. Everything in the scenery is laid out for you and depending on the size of your card front and its orientation the scenes shift and change depending on what parts you choose to highlight. So even though it is just one stamp that you are adding to your collection the versatility makes it seem like so many more. That is why I am such a huge fan of these big background scene stamps and am always anxious for a new one to create with. For my finishing touches I wanted to seamlessly integrate the sentiment right into the scene so I colored the area around it to look like a weathered board that had been hung from the tree branch. I also added a couple dragonflies zipping around and one of the extra hooks to his lucky fishin' cap. They are all small details individually but when they come together I think it adds so much to the overall look of the card.
