Hey there!
It's hard to believe that my Year of Flowers series of cards using the Tiny Townie Garden Girls is nearly complete. With today's Scenic Saturday post over on the Bellarific blog I've only got one more to go. November's flower is the beautiful Tiny Townie Garden Girl Chrysanthemum and I colored her in a vibrant yellow variety for this fall themed card. In fact, I chose to keep to a fairly monochromatic color scheme with the yellows and hints of orange throughout the entire scene. The yellow grassy field extending back behind Chrysanthemum captures the distance between her and the hedge of trees because of the simple application of color going from super light yellow beneath the trees graduating down to much darker and deeper russet hues up close beneath her feet. The addition of fallen leaves and tall individual grasses also help bring Chrysanthemum to the forefront. It's a simple technique for a fairly clean and simple scene but as a November birthday girl myself, the golden loveliness suits me to a 'T'. I added another one of the great sentiments from the Fall Sentiment set to pull the whole design together.
Thanks for stopping by and stay crafty my friends!
