No bunny compares to you...

Good morning!

The March Sweet November Stamps newsletter mailed out Saturday night and earlier in the day I had sneak peeked the free digi that would be included in it during my Facebook Live over on Adventures in Coloring with Amy. It is called Bunny Boop! and it features a cute little girl 'booping' her pet bunny on it's nose. As always I had a wonderful time coloring with all my fellow crafters but during that time I was also asked if there would be a boy version of the image available too. Now, at the time that hadn't even crossed my mind, but it was such a good idea that once the Live was over I immediately set about making it happen so that we could include his arrival in the newsletter as well.

It was a pretty easy transformation that only took about 15 minutes to accomplish and just like that we now had Bunny Boop Too! I colored him and the scene pretty much identically to the girl's card, just mirror flipping him and everything else. When the two cards are side by side they look like a pair of twins enjoying a sunny spring day beneath the shade trees. So hopefully this last minute addition will make everyone happy and excited to color up some spring scenes with them too.  :)

Have a great week my friends!

Happy Easter...

Hello again!

It's a review day at Sweet November Stamps and since I've had these cute kiddos from the Postage Pals: Portrait set stamped and ready to color since their release last month I figured it was time to get them on a card. With Easter on the brain, I also thought it would be fun to take them in an Easter themed direction. To that end, all I did was stamp in some little eggs around each of the kids and then used all three of the Easter post marks from the Year Round Postage set as additional accents. Now it looks like these cuties have had a very successful egg hunt!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a sweet Easter...

Hello friends!

I'm back with another Easter themed Scenic Saturday card to share over on the Blogabella. This time around I wanted to challenge myself to create an Easter card using stamps that are not designed with the holiday in mind. Stretching the uses for the stamps in my stash is always something I enjoy doing and this time around it was Tiny Townie Rae the Garden Helper who caught my eye.

Tiny Townie Rae the Garden Helper is holding a prize winning turnip or beet in the original image but I figured that if I had her peeking through the new Window stamp it would hide the bottom half of the root veggie, making it easy for me to color it into a bunch of carrots instead. So I stamped the Window first and cut a mask that left the middle open. From there it was easy stamping Rae into the bottom corner. To separate the beet into a bunch of carrots I used a dark brown marker and sketched in a few lines running down the length. I then blended it out with the orange markers and added the little marks for texture. Once I had her holding the perfect bunch of carrots I still needed to take this scene into an Easter themed direction, which led me to sketch in a tiny bunny off in the distance. With the bunny in place I could then color the rest of the landscape in behind. The choice of pretty pastel colors in the room surrounding the Window, as well as the floral print I added to the curtains, also contribute to the Easter look that I was going for. Finishing off the card is another sentiment from the Easter Sentiment set, stamped in black on the lower part of the wall. I think I would categorize this as a successful holiday transformation of these non-Easter stamps.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

Be yourself...

Hello friends!

I recently placed an order for some much needed card stock and before I could check out, I couldn't resist adding this pretty Marie Girl from Picket Fence Studios to my cart. I have quite the collection of these beautiful Girl stamps and I'm ashamed to admit that it has been quite some time since I've inked one up. That's probably because with all of the line work in these images, I prefer to stamp them in a light ink because the no-line technique allows a broader range of colors that I can use in their lovely hair and eyes. Coloring no-line always takes a bit more time because it is less forgiving than when you are working with the strong black lines that can hide little coloring flaws here and there. But, I had the time yesterday and the itch to stretch those coloring muscles just a bit. So I stamped Marie Girl using Memento desert sand ink and took my time adding all the fun details to her. After all that coloring on her I kept the background super simple, just some blue sky and a big ol' bush framing her pretty face. What a fun change of pace this was.   :)

Have a good one!

Bunny kisses...

Hi there!

I can't let Easter come and go without getting some of the cute Anita Jeram bunnies from Colorado Craft Company onto a card. I quickly settled on this sweet pair from the Lots of Love set because they are just too adorable. They are also pretty darn quick to color up, which was also a bonus on a busy day. I kept the background simple with some spring inspired hills and blossoming trees. The sentiment from the Happy Easter set was just what I needed to take this lovey scene into an Easter direction and still tie back to their sweet kiss. I won't be surprised if I get a few more of these bunnies on some cards before Easter arrives.  ;)

Ok, gotta run... so much to do. Later gators!

Hello Easter...

Hey, hey!

Are you ready for another Easter card? These sweet lambs are part of the Impronte d'Autore set called, Hello EweI was able to get them from Crafty Purple Frog, who has a nice selection of their stamps. Lambs are another one of those cute critters that are ubiquitous with Spring and Easter so I really wanted to get them on a card during this season. I stamped and masked these two into a little scene where it looks like the one is giggling at the other's jumping and leaping antics. The tulips and sentiment are all part of the same set as well and the rest of the scene I colored in by hand. The whole thing is simple and cute and was pretty quick to create, which was great for my busy schedule yesterday.  :)

Have a good one!
