Apparently I wasn't as done with summer as I may have thought because once I got my hands on these cute stamps I couldn't stop making cards with them! So once again I have four cards to share and I broke them down into cats and dogs vs. bunnies. This first mini slimline card features the new Beach Life set that includes these fun loving cats and dogs burying their friend in the sand. The cat in the sand, group of friends and sand castle are three individual stamps and I simply masked them all together to create this cohesive scene. The sentiment is one of a handful also included in the set and I did cut the stamp itself apart so that I could stamp it in a single line to fit on the narrow strip of card stock I cut for it. This bit of stamp surgery also made it super easy to stamp the sentiment in two different colors.

For my second card I combined three of the new sets together to fill this long slimline card. Starfish Wish, Summer Story and Beach Escape all feature these crazy cute cats juggling various seaside items. I had a lot of fun lining them all up in a row and giving each cat their own special thing to fling in the air. More stamp surgery went on when I cut this sentiment from the Starfish Wish set in two. This is one of the reasons I love clear stamps, because it is so easy to cut images apart and add even more versatility to the set. As I colored in the scene using my Copic markers, I decided to give these entertaining kitties a lovely sunset sky as their backdrop. Perhaps they are dinner entertainment during an island luau.  ;)

My second set of cards shifts to the adorable bunnies in the release. This first one features a whole family of rabbits enjoying a day at the beach in the Fun in the Sun set. The umbrella, mom, dad and baby bunnies are all their own individual stamps and I did some masking to bring them all together for this scene. For the background I hand colored in the sandy dunes and beach fencing with the treetops peeking out in the distance. All together they create a pretty color combo that is one of my favorites for summer.

Finally, I inked up the Beach Beauty rabbit and paired her with the older Mermazing Mini set for this relaxing seaside stroll. I went with very soothing blues for the sea and sky, filling the majority of the scene with them.

Ok, time to send you on your way. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

You're wiccan cute...

Olo!

Today I'm sharing a mini slimline card featuring one of the sassy Lovin' from the Coven witches at Sweet November Stamps. I did some masking to add the stack of books with her snake familiar resting on top, sitting on the floor in front of her. I also masked the witch as well so I could stamp the stone wall from the older Background Builder: Halloween Room set, behind her. It's such an easy way to create a bit of interest behind the character without having to go super detailed with a background. Once again, I played around with a magical glow around the book she is levitating and added some sparkles around it as well using a white pen. The sentiment comes in the Lovin' from the Coven set and it pretty much sums up this wicked cool Wiccan to a "T"!  ;)

Laters!

Hey teacher...

Hello!

I'm up on the TGF blog and since it is my first post for September, this seemed the perfect time to revisit the big Anya Reboot kit and ink up the updated version of Teacher Anya. With the kids all back in school now, I thought it would be fun to pair Teacher Anya with one of the sweet students from the Hey Teacher set (which is currently out of stock in the TGF store but can still be found at Simon Says Stamp). Together they make for a really cute classroom scene. I stamped the little girl sitting at the desk first and then masked her off before stamping Teacher Anya to the left and her backpack to the right. The backpack was stamped low, right next to the desk, so that it would look like it is sitting right at her feet. Teacher Anya, on the other hand, was stamped further up the card front so that her feet are level with the desk top. This positioning combined with the masking helps push the teacher further back in the room, making it appear that the student in the desk is closer to us, the viewer.

With the stamping done it was time to color in a class room scene for these two. I used a ruler to create a diagonal line on the left hand side to reinforce the perspective of there being a lot of space behind these darling characters. Then I added a straight line across the card for the back wall. I followed those same lines as I added the white erase board to the wall on the left and the bulletin board to the far wall. With the room all mapped out it didn't take me long to have it all colored in using a fairly neutral color palette. This helped the brighter colors in the clothing make Teacher Anya and her student really pop.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

Hey there friends!

I've got another card to share from the Scene Progression Break Down videos that I do over on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel. If you haven't checked them out yet, it's where I break down my entire scene coloring process into shorter, more time manageable videos but I'm still coloring in real time just like on my Lives. So over the course of four or five weeks you can tune in to watch the parts that interest you the most. The third card in the series features this lovely princess from the Royal Treatment clear set paired with the castle from the Background Builder Seaside Cliffs set. Some of the techniques I touched on include; coloring white objects, using a shift in color to create a sense of distance and creating a field of flowers. So if you are looking for something to watch on Youtube, why not tune in?

Toodles!  :)

Have a beautiful day...

Good morning!

I hope most of you are getting the chance to be like this cute little Slumber mouse from Purple Onion Designs, and are enjoying some extra R&R on this long weekend. I don't know about you, but even if relaxing in a beach side hammock isn't in the cards, having an extra day off of work can be just as nice. That's why I wanted to squeeze in one more Charmed by the Sea card today before I shift gears towards more fall related themes. I paired this sweet napping mouse with the Sunrise Sunset stamp and played with bold blue and orange sunset colors in the background. I hope it conveys the feeling of those end of summer nights right before the evenings begin to get a bit crisp and cold. :)

Have a wonderful week, my friends!

Have a fang-tastic Halloween...

Hello again!

The Frightful Forest digital release hit the shelves at Sweet November Stamps yesterday so of course I was on coloring Live over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. Li'l Wolfy Scary was once again the star of the show and this time I paired him with the Pumpkin Pals: Spooked Pumpkin and little Pip, the mouse. In the background I enlarged and cropped the new Frightful Forest Staircase background and we chose to give all those bushes a kaleidoscope of pretty fall colors. In fact, we ended up hitting on all of the traditional Halloween colors within this spooky, cute scene with the orange, green and purple trifecta.  :)

Later gators!

A Sweet November digital release to howl about!

Hello, hello!

It looks like this past week's Super Blue Moon has brought out the animals with the newest Halloween digital release now available at Sweet November Stamps! The Frightful Forest collection features the cutest little werewolf pack, made up of Li'l Wolfy Scary, Li'l Wolfy Sweet and Li'l Wolfette, along with the Frightful Forest Staircase background.

For my first card I printed out Li'l Wolfy Scary at the bottom of the Frightful Forest Staircase. He's trying his darnedest to look quite intimidating but I'm sure that his bark is far worse than his bite. If you are interested in watching this scene being colored you can find the short Reel over on my Instagram.

Next, I printed out Li'l Wolfy Sweet near the top of the Frightful Forest Staircase for a bit of a different look. I used the smallest of the Tim Holtz full moon stencils to shine a spotlight on him and stamped a few bats from the Happy Howl-o-ween clear set, flying through the night sky. He seems to be quite excited for Halloween to arrive.

Finally, what would our pack be without cute Li'l Wolfette? She is all sass and attitude knowing that she can hold her own with any of the other werewolves. Once again I've added the Frightful Forest Staircase in it's entirety behind her, setting the spooky scene.

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more howlingly cute Halloween cards from Caitlin, Lisa, Allison and Amanda. As well as our fabulous guest designer, Jackie Luper! Don't forget, I will be coloring one of the Li'l Wolfies Live today at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!

You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!
