My heart is full...

Hello again!

As the team and I are gearing up to start sharing sneak peeks of the upcoming clear release later in the week, I thought it would be fun to give you a bit of an early preview of one of the new sets today. There is a new add on set designed to go with the Front Porch Background and it is called Front Porch Spring Decor. The set includes both Valentine and Easter themed items to decorate with. I used the Valentine items on this card featuring the lovely SN Gal Val posing in front of her home. She has gone all out with the happy hearts theme and can't wait for her big date night. The sentiment is from another new set that is on its way called, Ruffles and Roses. If you would like to see more sneak peeks today, join me during my Live coloring at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page, where we will be creating with another mix of old and new.  ;)

All you need is love...

Hello friends!

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, it is time to feel the love with this week's Scenic Saturday post over on the Bellariffic blog. Personally, I think one of the best things about Valentine's Day is the chocolate, so I inked up the pretty Oddball with a Box of Chocolates from the latest release.

I started by stamping Oddball with a Box of Chocolates a bit left of center onto the card front. This left me with enough room to add the Window behind her, creating an opportunity for added interest within the scene. Inside her room I kept everything very soft and pale pink so that her red hair and rose print dress would stand out against it. Outside the window, the yard still has some melting snow and the trees that I sketched in haven't yet started to sprout leaves, representing the cold days that I personally experience this time of the year. So whether this Oddball is treating herself or enjoying a sweet surprise from a special someone, what better way to while away a chilly February afternoon than with a box of chocolates? The sentiment from the Chocolate Sentiment set perfectly drives that point home. So I hope this card inspires you to treat yourself with some crafty time and chocolate.  ;)

Stay crafty my friends!

Just a love note...

TGIF!

I needed something quick to color up yesterday and this sweet thing from the Impronte d'Autore Ladybug set made for the perfect little love bug Valentine. Especially once I paired her with the heart shaped balloon in the Sweet Bee set. I was lucky enough to get both of these cute stamp sets from Crafty Purple Frog last year and it felt good coming back to them for another round of crafting and coloring fun. This simple yet sweet scene came together really quickly as it didn't take much to fill the smaller space of this die cut and air brush in the blue sky. The sentiment is from an older Simon Says Stamp set and highlighting the 'love' in a pink that matches the balloon just makes me happy.  :)

Have a great weekend!

Sending my love...

Hi there!

I was looking through my stash of Stacey Yacula stamps from Purple Onion Designs to make a quick Valentine and as soon as I saw this fun Up and Away hot air balloon stamp I thought it would be cute to have the little bunny and mouse release heart confetti as they float by. So I stamped them in the upper corner of this mini slimline card front at a slight angle, this adds to the sense of movement that I wanted to capture with the balloon. The tiny hearts were added by hand using copic markers and afterwards I masked off the balloon and passengers before creating the cloudy sky background using my Copic airbrush system and a cloud stencil. The light colors don't show up so well in the photo but there are several cloud banks that can be seen in person. Unfortunately, as I'm linking here in the post, it looks like the Up and Away stamp is either sold out or retired as I can't find it in the store anymore. But the Essential Thoughts Sentiment set that I also used is still available.

Take care!

Sweet heart...

Hey there!

Even though Dreamerland Crafts is no longer in business, I still adore the Dreamerland stamps that I have in my stash. This cute couple called Comforting Friends, has been in the stack of stamped and ready to color card fronts that I keep on the corner of my desk for at least a few years. Their sweet pose and little bouquet of flowers made them perfect for a Valentine's Day card. Before coloring, I decided to mask them off and add the house and trees from Art Impressions behind them. Having that cozy cottage off in the distance really adds to the overall story. The sentiment is from an old Simon Says Stamp set and I used a pink ink on the heart before stamping the rest in black to add to the sweetness. I gotta say, it feels like I am really making a dent in that stack of images this year and we are still in January, woot, woot! ;)

Alrighty, well thanks so much for stopping by today!
